The room was lovely and clean and bright. Comfortable bed. En suite large and had a nice shower with everything in needed for a budget hotel including Sky TV and a decent Wi-Fi. Mark and Donna were excellent hosts going the extra mile for me with a great explanation of the property, room and dining times. The food was freshly made and the complimentary continental breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and a good choice. There’s good walking just up the road from the hotel.

The outside could do with a tidy up as it’s not that inviting but the warm welcome and hospitality more than made up for it. It was quite a noisy road early doors but I had a good night sleep prior to that.

Lite breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and cooked was available at additional cost. We went for the rugby, and the property has a car park and is opposite the stadium. The town was only a short walk away. The bar had an excellent choice of beers and the service was very good and easily coped with the crowds before and after the match. Although the property may not look great from the outside it is superb value and we would definitely go back if we went to another game there.

Exterior could do with a spruce up, but these are hard times so I understand it may not be feasible currently.

It was 10/10. My room was clean. It was set out ergonomical and practical. Everything worked well. The bed was very comfortable. At bed time.. (and even before) I heard no noise and slept very well.. great considering it's a pub! Shower and toilet was very good. The complementary breakfast.. included in the price of the room, was so good and generous. It's not egg & bacon etc.. that's extra.. but everything else and more is there.. Juice, cereals, lot's of fruits, yogurts and toast, jam etc. I didn't look too long.. there was so much! Plus tea & coffee etc. All very excellent!

Well, the area is a little bit industrialised, (not noisy though).. but hey!.. it's a town.. not the seaside etc. Great for visiting the town or as a halfway house.

The hotel is right opposite the Castleford Tigers rugby ground, but there wasn't a match on when we stayed, so it wasn't that busy. The bar downstairs was light and airy and we were welcomed immediately and checked in. We had intended to pop back down later for a pint but were tired so decided not to bother. Although the pub looks a little tired from the outside, our room had clearly been recently refurbished and had what appeared to be brand new furniture in it. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. The breakfast the next morning was a continental breakfast, but a full cooked breakfast was available for a reasonable (I think it £6.95 or something like that) fee.

The hotel is a bit on the edge of the town, so when we went to get something to eat, it was a bit of a walk. Also, there weren't many places open on a Wednesday evening (not the hotel's fault obviously) but we did eventually find a pretty good fish and chip shop near the bus station.

I booked this hotel as I was travelling from Cambridge to York and just wanted somewhere to crash for the night on my way. The price was excellent and was happy with everything. When I arrived (quite late) a lady checked me in quickly and easily and within a few minutes I was in my room. I nearly popped down to the pub again for a quick drink but as I had an early (ish) start I went for a quick walk and then headed to bed. Parking was provided free of charge and was right next to the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, there was a shared toilet and shower room - everything was clean and as described. Breakfast was included, I went for the continental instead of paying a little more to get a fully cooked breakfast as I was still quite full from the meal I'd had the evening before. Check out was easy and I was soon on my way to York. I was happy with the hotel and would stay again, especially if the price remains reasonable. One more thing, the location of the hotel is right opposite the Castleford Tigers stadium so if you're going to a game you would be in the stands if you got any closer.

There is no soundproofing between the rooms but as long as other guests are respectful then it's not a problem. All good for me.

Good location, nice property. Generally a warm welcome from staff and room was just as I needed for the purpose of the trip.

Getting in was tricky due to the mass congregation of Rugby fans ready to watch the game at the stadium. One member of staff could perhaps do with some customer facing skills training as when asked a very simple question about having a takeaway delivered and taking it to the room, she quite abruptly just said 'NO'. Could have been a bit dealt with in a much politer and more apologetic, 'no I'm so sorry, we don't allow food in the rooms but you're welcome to eat it down here by the bar' kind of manner. Maybe she was having a bad day but it just got the back up a bit with her quite sharp response.

Very comfortable beds with good linen and lovely, thick, soft towels. The bed was very comfortable and as we were all on a work trip, and we were working late into the night, a good sleep was exactly what we all needed. The price per room, per night, was exceptional and exactly what we wanted for our stay. The entrance to the accommodation area is completely separate and it was easy to come and go without disturbing others. We booked five rooms for 7 people and everyone was happy with their stay.

There was nothing that I did not like about our stay.

The staff were super helpful and friendly, we’ve never been to Leeds before and booked the first hotel we could find so was really happy that it was nicer than we expected! the breakfast was just what we needed before we went to the festival and it was really easy to find our way around. The room had recently been renovated and was lovely and clean with great additions inc Sky tv

The only thing was we had to walk up some metal stairs to get to the room which was a bit scary but luckily neither of us drink so we didn’t have to do it drunk!

Food excellent, beer excellent, staff very good, bed comfortable, shower good. Fantastic value for money.

Unfortunately I stayed when the weather was very warm. My room was west facing with a large window which only had a top fan light opener. Consequently the room was extremely warm and did not cool down until 2.00am. Can't blame the hotel for the weather but a fan in the room would have helped. However I would definitely stay again. After all you don't get too many hot days in Castleford.

The location is nice and room was very clean. Breakfast was nice, I felt pity that I had to leave for work early and couldn’t have it during the weekdays. The staffs were friendly and helpful, gave me a hand with my luggage because it was heavy for me. They also helped me receive my parcels.

I felt slight awkwardness sitting and eating my takeaway food in the bar where other people were just drinking, but it was understandable for the hotel not wanting bad smell or dirty bits in the room.
