Rooms tidy and clean.

I didn't like that there was not enough hand ,shower gel and shampoo. Just 2 5ml tiny containers just enough for 1 wash. I had to wait almost 20 min to be checked in. The lady was on the phone all this time even if 2 other people were around the desk. No greeting no sorry to keep you waiting no nothing. The breakfast was lovely but no beans which was annoying. Other then that everything was ok.

Room has everything you want and location. Breakfast was of a good quality

The hotel does focus on being a wedding venue which I only realised on arrival. As a result any dining or bar facilities are removed to non-attendees. Room service only. Fortunately I was meeting friends elsewhere for food and on return The Marlborough Head pub is next door with a pleasant atmosphere which made up for any disappointment The only concern would be the pressure required to work the toilet button, you may need a work out before hand.

Lovely location, 5 mins away from the lawn where we got married! We arrived 5mins before breakfast was ending and there was nothing left, but the manager was lovely and went to get us some hot food. Very appreciated as it was a long day before and long day ahead. Thank you!!

Our room had a joining door to the next one, very weird. Would of liked to know this before we booked it as you can hear everything from the room adjoining us and it made us paranoid having the door there incase it was able to be unlocked.

We have just experienced the most personal and beautiful customer service from this lovely hotel. Even though they had a, wedding to facilitate, the manager and the team went out of tbeir way to find somewhere for us to get ready for our event, hours before our check in time. I think the best feeling we experienced was the warm welcome and the smile after our long journey. They made us feel as though nothing was too much of a problem. They are such a lovely cohesive team. I would recommend anyone travelling to Southend to go here because in a world lacking of personal touch and warmth, this place has it all. Wonderful.

There was nothing to not like.

Loved everything about it, exactly what we were looking for. Great to have Room 6 on ground floor & easy access to car park where we found a space each night. Pleased with size of room & enjoyed both the full English or the continental.

The most difficult thing about the property was finding it! Eventually we asked someone who directed us but the Sat Nav didn’t take us to it! I did notice, while having breakfast, that a sign advertising the Rockford Hotel was hidden from the road by a high hedge & we certainly drove past it without seeing the sign.

The hotel laid on a party for my sister on her 60th birthday the food they supplied was of excellent quality and very tasty the hotel staff were very polite and very helpful I will definitely be staying again I would recommend them to anyone

I had to repair the sink plug in the bathroom but hey excellent hotel

Receptionist asking me to hand over my card so she can type in the numbers from my card into her PC. I didn’t feel comfortable doing this and asked her if there was a card machine and she said no. I asked if I could put in the card number and security code myself and she said no. I had no choice but to give my card to her. This shouldn’t be happening as anything is possible when someone else gets your card. There should be backup card machine.

Much better than similarly priced budget hotels. When working away from home it was a real treat staying here, I'm going to bring my partner along with me the next time.. Comfortable, looks good, spotlessly clean and food staff. After working away from home for 2 weeks and staying in 4 different Premier Inns this hotel was my favourite. Thanks

the room was cosy, the staff were very helpful and let me stay in my room a little longer. the breakfast was really tasty. Staff were friendly and offered advice about the local area, offered to let me borrow things I had forgotten to bring. I didn’t feel rushed or in the way even though they had a wedding coming in that day. I will definitely go back.

the hall stairs carpets were very grubby.

A lovely nights sleep the bed was comfortable the staff were great and very welcoming.

If you used the shower or bath the toilet would fill up with water. Used the toilet and it was blocked but having a shower unblocked it Mouldy grout and a really stained toilet seat No parking so parked in back lane car park forgot to put a ticket on the car at 7 am and ended up with a parking ticket
