The property is in the heart of Settle so provided us with what we needed, which was easy access to the amenities. The car park is out of the way and not visible from the road. On arrival we were greeted in a very friendly and welcoming manner, checked in without fuss and shown to our room. The room was clean, bed comfortable, sheets of a good quality and the towels were of a good size and very fluffy. The cooked breakfast was good and served until a reasonable time with plenty of choice covering most needs.

There was only one thing and that was the early morning traffic, something we are not used to, but that isn’t under the control of the hotel.

Location staff food price couldent fault. James and the gang made us welcome from the word go.great warm comfortable rooms with loverly comfortable beds layed in twice that comfortable.couldent believe food prices in the bar realy good and the food realy excellent. Heard some mixed comments before I went so went with a open view, wich was put to bed when I stayed here.at the end of the day it's a village pub in centre of settle on main road through village so you expect a bit of noise with a bit of traffic and busy bar but it's not bad at all tv on low soon drowns it out and traffic and bars all done for11 or so.would recommend the Royal oak for Location value for money food and a great selection of 🍺 beer. breakfast loverly nice runny pouched eggs try steak and ale pie, it's the best I've had.most meals range from 4 to 10 pounds and fount it was the best place to eat in settle for qaulity and value for money. For the price we paid couldent find anything not to like perhaps the best location in settle 5 mins walk to station and on tap for great walks through surrounding area.viewing point and crag at the hill top at the back of settle definitely worth a walk up stunning views over settle the railway and surrounding area.the Royal oak faces it on the main road wich isent that busy and it stands proud and high at the back of the village.give it a go great views.

Staffing hiccup meant someone else ended up cooking our breakfast after a small delay but it was fine. No noise at all from the pub downstairs pub after 11pm which was a bonus. Some inconsiderate guests left a dog whining in a room till midnight which was a ball ache but not the pub’s fault.

Decor in room was tired although bed was really v comfortable and everything was clean. Hadn’t realised they allowed dogs to stay which was a nuisance when owners can be such d***heads.

Great value for money, superb, it's an old building so don't expect the ritz, all the facilities were spotless, (the towels were fantastic) the staff are amazing particularly Matty who never seems to stop, nothing is to much trouble and breakfast is great as are the evening meals and very reasonably priced, Settle is a lovely village with some great pubs and restaurants, would like to say it is so nice that dogs are genuinely welcome not just at the Royal Oak but everywhere, really enjoyed our stay....Thank you....

The karaoke on Saturday night is loud but it is a pub so has to be expected...

Pleasant staff. Great location for my purposes. Free safe car parking. Comfortable bed, good sized room & bathroom. Food plentiful & reasonably priced. A bath and shower in the room. Plentiful heating and loads of red hot water .An excellent cooked breakfast which set us up for the whole day. Very good value at the price point.

The place is tired. It needs a refurb. Peeling paper & paint-- but the price reflects this. I'd have liked one public space without SkyTV playing football non-stop. The room was quite dark as there were no bedside or over-bed lamps.

Location was ideal right in the centre of a delightful market town. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good ale and nice breakfast was on offer. We didn't have dinner there but we heard no complaints from the guests that did. We would definitely stay there again.

The only thing that marred our experience was : Booking.com not forwarding our reservation. We arrived and embarrassingly the Royal Oak didn't have us down on their list of arrivals. If it hadn't been for the excellent staff making the necessary adjustments to their room arrangements that everything turn out fine.

The Managers are brilliantly kind and accommodating, and the location is perfect, right in the heart of Settle, so very close to lovely walks, cafes, restaurants and shops. Super comfy bed!

A little noisy, given it's a pub, so sound carries up from the street to the rooms. But that's to be expected if you stay in the town centre on a bank holiday weekend!

The pub is right in the heart of town with a good car park at the rear. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious with a nice modern ensuite. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub is very traditional and serves a good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast was good with a few choices on offer. Good location for exploring the town and local attractions. Look forward to returning.

Staff were very friendly upon arrival. Food was fresh and at a great price. Room was a really good size and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was equally as good and staff again were very nice.

The only thing that could be improved is a blind or privacy glass in the bathroom of the room. Even though it's on the first floor, it's right by a busy road and opposite other buildings so felt a bit exposed and at night when the light is on you would be able to see right through!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. On arrival the parking spaces were full but a member of staff moved her car so we could park. It was extremely noisy when we arrived as the football final was on but when in our room we didn't hear a peep. Top marks.Tried to get us a taxi, without success but that wasn't their fault, it's a small place and all were booked up. Bed was extremely comfortable, better than mine at home. Breakfast all freshly cooked, catered for requests not on the menu. All in all I would highly recommend The Royal Oak.
