What a find! We booked this chalet for two days as it was nearest to where we needed to be. The gastro pub it belongs to is excellent, but that would be another review. The chalet itself had everything we could want, including air conditioning on what turned out to be the hottest days of the year. Compact but extremely comfortable, our hosts had thought of everything, including every extra you can think of. The fridge was well stocked for our breakfast the next morning and we couldn't possibly have eaten everything. Fresh milk, a coffee machine, fresh fruit, juices - just perfect. A great night's sleep in a super comfortable bed and we didn't hear anything at all, despite the bar being busy and the chalet next door being occupied. Very much recommended, we'll certainly be returning. Thank you.

We should have booked longer :-(

Very clean, old building but well presented with space around the tables in restaurant area. Food excellent and menu varied and different. Chalet very clean, contemporary decoration, stylish and warm, nice twist to have breakfast in room. Equipment instructions for heating. Aircon, etc well thought out and presented. Staff welcoming, courteous and good fun - especially Sara!

Chalet Room was tight for space - especially down left side of bed and to get past unit with fridge and breakfast/coffee station. Bed was comfortable but very high and had to climb on - also for someone with mobility issues like my husband, was a bit of an issue but for our time there was ok.

Lovely chalet with 1 room and en suite. Situated adjacent the main pub and restaurant. Continental breakfast included with lots of fresh items in the fridge. Room was modern and very clean, large comfortable bed and shower room.

Was a room was a bit small, but was ok for us. Also the room opened up directly on to the main pub area where people where having drinks nearly out side the door. Could do with a little area in front of the room that was for the guests only. Tbf it was a gorgeous weekend day when we was there and the pub was packed outside, may not be an issue most of the time.

Know the pub well always great food. Was a lovely overnight stay quiet. Great continental breakfast too and the service from Will was excellent. We arrived when the restaurant was closed but he made us welcome and even provided cocktails that were not on the menu ( the best mojitos we have ever had).

Larger towels please . The shower needs the plug drainage cleared as it took ages to drain. Lots of dust on on the top of the door frame to shower room seriously noticeable when we arrived as it was partially hanging down, so we were surprised this had not been spotted. We removed it ourselves.

Lovely place in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful rooms (only 2) in the garden. Everything you need provided. We arrived Sunday afternoon - restaurant closes at 6 and doesn't re-open until Tuesday, so, unfortunately, we missed out on the food, which looked wonderful and it's clearly a very popular place. Monday's breakfast was provided in our room - croissants, muffins, fruit juice, fruit, yoghurts, which is pretty much what we'd have chosen anyway

That we missed out on the food. Nobody's fault, as we had to travel on a Sunday. However, will definitely go back on a day when we can have dinner there!

Superb restaurant - great food and service. Bedrooms perhaps a little on the small side as they also doubled as a small living/breakfast area - however, very modern, fittings of a high standard and spotlessly clean. Special shout out to Emma, the assistant manager, who went "above and beyond" in supplying us with useful information for a forthcoming holiday to Iceland(!! - it's a long story 😊)

not keen on the only option of continental breakfast in the bedroom - I would've given 10 out of 10 if not for this.

Very quiet next to a lovely restaurant in the middle of nowhere really. Rooms were comfortable if not compact but very well equipped and lots of little extras. Continental breakfast was ok. Bed comfortable and room light with s skylight to watch the rain clouds Ample parking

Was quite a few cobwebs hanging from ceiling..hopefully we caught the culprit. Its more of a restaurant than a pub with its open hours..ie 6pm - 9:30pm and a few hours at lunchtime. Welcoming was lukewarm and obviously arriving at mealtimes focus was on restaurant guests.

We had booked a table for a pre-Christmas late lunch with two of our family. The lunch was very good and service at an extremely busy time was smooth and efficient. Breakfast was a little unusual - muffins, croissants, yoghurt and juice given to us on a tray on arrival. We didn't eat the muffins as they were huge and heavily chocolatey. The croissants were okay, but obviously not fresh.

On arrival, we couldn't find a space in the large car park. At busy times, it would be sensible for the pub to reserve two spaces for guests who are staying overnight. We felt rushed at the end of our meal as we hadn't realised the pub itself shut at 4pm (our fault, maybe, for not noticing this on the website). We went back to our room for a couple of hours and our family left. It would have been nice to be able to sit in the bar to digest our meals and have a longer chat and drink.

Location is very quiet. Lots of nice touches in the room (e.g. little chocolates). Continental breakfast in room was very good, there was cereal, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, hot chocolate, fresh milk for tea and coffee etc. The Black Horse has a nice restaurant which serves food and is very close to the rooms.

The mini fridge kicked in with a loud buzz intermittently throughout the night, which meant I personally didn't sleep too well, but that might not bother others. Also, the bed was too close to the fridge and breakfast area (built in furniture). It meant one of us had to climb over the bed to get in and out of it because you couldn't walk around to that side of it. The room would have been brilliant for a single person though.

The welcome from one of the staff was great, as was the explanation of the various remote controls ( heating/window/blinds ). The room itself was warm, clean and comfortable. We had a great sleep and the bathroom was good. The breakfast was not expected ( I did not read the small print ). However the items were nice. Small details like fresh fruit, local sourced juices etc were a nice touch. As we only stayed one night for a friends birthday we did not have chance to sample the attached pub. Which we would do the next time. We would 100% stay here again.

The only thing was the lack of check in or checkout instructions, that is a minor thing that could be added to any future booking confirmation email. As we arrived when the pub was closed.
