Lady who checked us in was incredibly helpful and kind. As were the other ladies who also helped with a few things. The breakfast was lovely and the room was very clean and modern. There is a harvester a stone throw away which is really handy.

The family room just simply can’t accommodate for a family of four and this needs to be made clearer on booking.com. The room is too small for a sofa bed and a travel cot and although I paid for four of us to have a bed, the manager, Luke, simply emailed to say “you can’t have both so if you want a travel cot, bring your own”. The lady on reception who checked us in really saved the day and was apologetic for how I felt. Whether this is an issue with the hotel direct or with booking.com I don’t know but it states I booked a room four two adults, two children and I can request a travel cot. This isn’t the case according to Luke and no efforts to help resolve this for me or with me.

The room is clean. The bathroom is lovely. The shower is nice and big. The air con worked. The shower was powerful and good temperature. You could come and go anytime. The staff where polite. Breakfast tasted okay. Buffet style. 20mins drive from Alton Towers resort.

Travelled with our child and the second ‘single bed’ is just a sofa bed pulled out and is very uncomfortable. Child complained of being in pain. So we took turns of sleeping on this bed. Bars dig into you terribly. Main double bed was fine. No hash browns for breakfast which would be a nice touch. Paying for parking.

The staff were friendly, the lobby was welcoming and seemed quite business-like. rooms were clean and cozy with lots of little extras and beds super comfy, breakfast was also fab we all went back for seconds with lots of English brekkie options, croissants, cereals to choose from. The harvester pub outside of it was decent enough with fairly priced meals too though not a lot of options for picky eaters but there’s a spoons 10 minutes down the road so we were laughing 👍🏼

Walls in our room were thin, could hear everything going on in the bathroom area (not neighbours though :) ) and the water pressure wasn’t great, did the job but if you have thick hair expect to spend double time in there. This is just being very nit picky because it’s hard to say anything bad considering what we paid (£69 for 1 night)

The hotel itself was great. The staff were very friendly and the room was spotless. We really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. Everything ran smoothly and we have absolutely no complaints.

The one thing that could have been better was the cot for our daughter. It was set up as requested in the room, which was good. The only issue is that the mattress at the bottom was basically non-existent and very uncomfortable for our daughter. She was struggling on it as it was, so we had to pad it out with towels and blankets to make it comfortable enough for her to sleep on. A small inconvenience and certainly not a problem that lessened our stay!

A well situated hotel close to the motorway on route to Scotland for an overnight stay. The rooms are standard Holiday Inn Fair giving a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed, the room was clean as was the bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast is included in the price with a reasonable selection. Parking at this location costs £5 per night

Even though we have mentioned this before at this hotel smoking is not permitted within it but outside however those inclined to smoke seem to stand at the door so you have to walk through plumes of smoke to get either into the hotel or the car park, staff should really monitor this especially as there are signs directly outside the front entrance telling you so!

The location was perfect for the purpose of our stay over

The only thing I would say about my stay was the disabled accommodation. As I was staying with my husband it wasn’t too much of an issue, however I do travel around on my own and had this been the case my room would have not been completely accessible for me due to : shower controls too high to reach : the cups and drinks sachets were on a high shelf : the vanity unit too high even if you were in a wheelchair and the soap dispensers again too high on the wall. All this aside we enjoyed our stay but I would not book if I was coming on my own I’m afraid

Check in was easy. Paying for the parking was easy. The room was immaculately clean. Kettle didn't switch off, but we'd read this in other reviews, so just kept an eye on it. Breakfast was as it said. Hot and cold selection. Housekeeping get the 5 Star for their hard work and pride in making sure us guests after a long journey arrived to an immaculately clean room and supply of toiletries, tea and coffee

That other guests didn't take into consideration of food waste! Parents allowing children to be very wasteful. Plates of untouched food and drinks going to waste. When we have people going yo food banks. Disgraceful. Holiday Inn staff have no powers to control this. Maybe polite laminated signs up in the food area 'Consider Food Waste - just take what you know you'll eat!

We loved the initial customer service when we arrived, our room wasn’t ready even though it was our check in time, due to staff sickness, but we were looked after amazingly whilst we waited and this lead to us not being bothered by the wait at all. Loved the breakfast, vast choice which suited us and our children. Loved the value too! Really great price.

The lights in the room, was a bit annoying you couldn’t leave the light on by the door without the main light by the window being on too. Needed a small light on for the kids but the lamps are quite bright. Wasn’t a massive deal, just something we noticed.

The hotel was easily accessible, the car park was busy in the evening and tight for space, however I did manage to park and the car was ok in the morning, The reception area is good with a bar close by, the hotel is very clean and tidy. The bedroom was immaculate and the bed and bedding very comfortable. The toilet and shower area had everything you needed within but the shower power was weak (but still able to be used). The breakfast in the morning had lots of variety and was managed by some great staff. A lovely 2 night stay - its a shame parking and the gym weren't included within the price.

paying for the car park - i understand why its a paid car park, but this should be reimbursed in the room rate. Also having to pay for the gym, this should also be included if you wish to attend.

Everything! The Holiday Inn is a truly wonderful hotel. The staff are incredible and can't do enough for you. Even silly questions about the hair dryer at 1am! Every staff member we encountered always had a smile on their face, even the house keepers (who did an amazing job of freshening up our room every single day). The breakfast was superb, orange juice, and sausages were definitely on point - yum factor of 10! The bed was really comfortable, the shower was great, lots of room and I liked the fact that the bathroom door also doubled up as the toilet door. Very handy! Thank you so much, guys. We hope to be back to visit again soon

Nothing really! There weren't any plug sockets by the bed, but that's not a bad thing - someone as clumsy as me would have fallen over their ridiculously long cable if there were! 😅 The only other thing I could comment on would be the sound from the air con, but when you got used to it, you didn't even notice it.
