The room was spacious and clean, with tea and coffee facilities plus complimentary biscuits. It was lovely and cosy on arrival, and there was plenty of space for our dog to sleep too. Staff were very friendly and showed us promptly to the room. The location was perfect for an overnight before catching the ferry to Ireland, and in close proximity to a lovely park. We didn't spend much time in the bar, but it seemed busy with a good atmosphere.

The room is situated at the top of a metal staircase (to the fire escape) so we could hear the guests in the next room coming and going, and we were very conscious of making noise ourselves leaving early for the ferry. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the springs in the mattress were very loud and twanged every time one of us turned over!

Clean, comfortable accommodation. Friendly welcome at reception. Good-sized room, with a double bed and two single beds which would make it a very good (and great value) option for a family group. Approx 20 minute walk from Stranraer town centre. The sea front was two or three minutes' walk on the opposite side of the road, with pleasant views across towards Cairnryan. Agnew Park was close by, which had a little lake with seating around it to relax. Free on-the-road parking approx 50 yards from the premises. Overall, it did the job perfectly well for a two-night stay.

The shower. The cubicle was spacious, but the water pressure wasn't great (I'm acknowledging here that the room is in an elevated part of the premises furthest away from the bar area, which might have an effect on the water pressure) and it wasn't easy to regulate the water temperature to a comfortable level.

Close to town- easy access to rooms- very friendly staff- nothing to much trouble for them to make your stay pleasant- Rooms comfortable clean Nick and his staff are lovely people and always at hand to help. Very welcoming and a joy to sit in the bar to eat- food the first evening was lovely - Susan bar staff was so helpful and friendly welcomed us in and let us have our dogs in the bar to wonder around- Made us feel part of the locals- both evenings sat in the bar we sat with the locals and had a laugh- fully recommend a stay here will defo return

There wasn’t anything-

Although we arrived very close to when their kitchen closed (pub stayed open later), Nick offered us the full menu. The food was very good & it was easy for everyone in our party of 5 to find something that pleased them. It was a single block from a nice walking path along the water & a park close by with play equipment for children.

There was a bit of a mix-up with one of our 3 rooms, & my mother ended up having a rm upstairs, which wasn't ideal. However, the owner was super nice & apologized for the inconvenience.

It had exactly what I needed, the bed was incredibly comfy! Was only there for a night and it was a perfectly pleasant stay. The shower was good, the room was easy to access, didn't have to go through the bar (other than to check in of course). I was only there to sleep so It was perfectly good, and close to portpatrick which was beautiful and a great place to spend time

Nothing really, you get what you pay for, the price was perfectly reasonable for what you get.

The location was perfect. The greeting was welcoming. I was shown to my room and served in the bar/dining area by Rebecca, who was just delightful, a credit to not only the Swan but to the service industry. The atmosphere of the Swan was unpretentious. Perfect for a solo traveller. There was no issue with me bringing my cat along for the stay! Which was a priority for me on this trip. I will definitely stay again.

There really wasn't a great deal to not like. I would have preferred a double bed rather than a twin room. And if they were to offer breakfast as well, I would have gladly paid more to stay at the Swan. I think they are missing a trick there, as it really is a wee gem of a place to stay.

This was the perfect one shop stop for myself and my dog coming from the Highlands and breaking the journey to catch the early ferry to Ireland. Both the dog and I felt very welcome and as the bar is the living room and serves food and drink, is right on the promenade for dog breaks and was full of friendly locals (football match on the tv) I had a great night. Wouldn’t generally wander in to a pub on my own but this was comfort and entertainment with no need to go anywhere else.

Room was beautifully clean and fresh - even from the hallway it smelt fresh! Really easy check-in process, staff were super friendly towards our dog, and lovely well-lit park & seaside promenade walk across the road for a stroll after a long drive. Great location only 10-15mins drive from Cairnryan ferry ports, but surprisingly not too much freight truck noise overnight (as we've experienced near other ports).

Beds were a bit springy, but fine for a single night stay.

The food downstairs was perfect for us and 2 young kids. Staff very helpful and kind when I asked about the egg fried rice and curry sauce! Was delicious! Would definitely stay again before our ferry. Left a daughter’s mobile and they contacted us promptly before we even realised. Perfect location for early morning ferry. Shower was amazing!!! Staff so friendly.

Very good location, excellent staff at a fair price, overall, brilliant.

Nothing really. I'm from Manchester, my second stay here with my partner, her son and our dog to see my mother who lives in the town. Excellent stay as was our last one. My only gripe is, we had a little problem with the WiFi but that was cery quickly resolved by staff, secondly, there was no milk for a brew in the morning. All-in-all, a very pleasant visit, we would definitely stay again. X.
