Great little pine chalet in quiet countryside 10 mins drive from Tain and 15 mins walk from Portmahomock. Cosy bedroom, lounge with tv, bathroom with roomy electric shower and kitchen diner with microwave, fridge, induction hobs, kettle and coffee machine. Everything you need for a self catering break. Ideally placed for Tain or walking the coastal path to Tarbet Ness. Super peaceful at night. Reminded us of a traditional Norwegian hytter.

Our host was super friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. If I was to base a return visit on her character then I’d return immediately. Such helpful information about the place. Thank you!

Breakfast was budget ingredients from Lidl. I have no problem with this shop but I feel that they are very heavy on the ingredients in their foods being highly salty and sugary. I think for the cost of the accommodation a little more of a premium breakfast would be appreciated.

Self catering in the cabin, so breakfast not applicable. Location is usefully placed for beach/coast and town/shops/supplies, good range of facilities within easy reach. Outside space very good, although use of it was limited by the weather during our stay. Beds were extremely comfortable (missing them already!). Owners were receptive to, and sought, feedback regarding our experience.

Space in bathroom was limited. Shower was fine, but wash hand basin was extremely small and shallow with very little space between it and the toilet, which also appeared to be designed for small persons. Also the mirror was not usefully placed, being over the toilet rather than the basin, and not able to be moved.

All of it. The area is so nice and I love visiting. The cottage was amazing and had everything you needed and tain really wasn't far away. It is separate and attached onto the main house so everyone has their own privacy and doors. You can also get a discount at a local restaurant if you stay so if you fancy a nice meal also this is the place to come. Very peaceful and beautiful.

Brilliant accommodation. Friendly welcome. So cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very spacious wardrobe/storage area. The small fridge with milk provided was great. Also a choice of cereals and all crockery provided to do you own breakfast. Great value for money too. Great spot to stop over to explore this beautiful area.

Canterra Cottage was the perfect accomodation for us; comfortable and spacious. Maureen was a very attentive and friendly host and she gave us all the information needed for eating out in the local area. The bed was very comfy, just what we needed for exploring the area. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the property and the fact that we had everything we needed; tea bags, coffee and plates/cutlery. The property was also very quiet so perfect for a quiet weekend away.

Absolutely nothing to comment here; everything exceeded my expectations.

We liked the privacy of a small appartment with a private entry and also a small table and chairs in the garden for our use. Milk, coffee and tea bags were left for us to use and the owner was on hand if we had a problem.There were walks in the area.

There was nothing to dislike

No breakfast. Was defined as self-catering. Welcome and comfort fine. Suited me ideally as a one-night stand in the middle of travelling. I was free to get off early without disturbing anyone. Hosts very welcoming.

There was sleeping for 4 but any more than 2 would have been rather compressed in the rest of the cabin. Lack of an inside table from which to eat breakfast was not good. Not everyone enjoys a fine patio table in the rain. I'm not sure there were 4 cups. High microwave for the vertically challenged is offputting.

Fantastic stay over the weekend. I travelled on my own, and the hosts couldn't have been nicer. The place was clean and comfortable and had everything I could need. They also had so many thoughtful touches that really made things special. A huge thanks from me for a fantastic little break in a gorgeous part of Scotland.
