loved the novelty of having a breakfast basket, never had that at a stay before, although unheated coissants wasn't great but good selection, the room was a good size absolutely loved the food the menu was fantastic and the staff were great helpful and friendly and we liked the location even though it was away from other amenities, would stay again

the room was a bit dusty but clean otherwise and we only had 2 teabags and we were there for 4 days and the wifi wasn't great

Just off the A9, very nice comfortable room with en suite and plenty of space. Parking no problem. Although we managed to get a table for dinner it would be advisable to book in advance as it's popular and nowhere else in walking distance. Breakfast was delivered outside your room around 7am in a lovely picnic basket and included cereals, fruit, juice, croissants, jam and milk so you can eat at your leisure in your room.

Staff very friendly even though we showed up quite late, very comfortable, spacious, clean, excellent bathroom. Totally quiet, plenty of desk / table space and power sockets, delicious breakfast in a cute picnic basket. Very convenient location right next to the main road, plenty of parking. Everything I'd expect from a much more expensive place, much cheaper than anywhere in the area.

The car park was a little uneven? Really this place was very good in all respects.

The Shandwick Inn is located just off the A9 near Nigg and conveniently close to Tain, Dornoch etc. There's a large car park, outside seating and play area. The room was large and comfortable with a good sized en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. The room had recently been refurbished and was very modern and clean. The large double bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent - good water pressure. Evening meal selection was very good with some options that you wouldn't always find on a pub menu. The Shandwick mushrooms were particularly nice and the venison casserole was delicious. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Value for money was excellent - the room and food were much better than I had expected for this rate.

Only a Continental breakfast was available, which is a shame given the quality of evening meal - I would have happily paid extra for a full breakfast option. The room is situated above the bar and the Inn is close to the busy A9. This was not an issue for me but noise may be an issue for early-to-bed, light sleepers.

It was perfect for our requirements, just a stop over after a long drive. Staff really friendly. Food was amazing in the restaurant can recommend the Venison Casserole, it was mouth watering. Room was spacious with great facilities. Not forgetting the continental breakfast. Wow. If ever we are this way again we would definitely stay again.

If I had to be critical the bed was not to our liking. Although no bed is ever like your own.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing as it had stated breakfast included when booking I assumed this would be a cooked breakfast sitting at a table Instead we had a basket delivered outside the door.

Excellent continental breakfast delivered to cottage in picnic basket. Room very comfortable with enough space for unpacking luggage. Dinner in restaurant was delicious.

No plug in sink.Luckily I carry a universal travel one for such occasions. Lighting in room a bit too dim.(energy saving bulbs) Lock on cottage door was a bit unnerving as door splintered as if there had been a previous break in.Old Yale lock still hanging there.We had another key for door which was a bit of a fiddle to turn.

Very clean tidy room very spacious fairly quiet location. Excellent continental breakfast brought to your room. Staff so friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Evening food In the restaurant brilliant very generous portions and made our stay most enjoyable.

For continental breakfast served in your room it would be really nice to have a wee round table and couple of chairs by the window. We had a slight problem trying to regulate the temp of shower in room 1. One second cool next too hot!

The breakfast basket was lovely to wake up to. Restaurant onsite was handy and food was good. Parking outside and a climbing frame and slide was a bonus for my child. Bathroom was fresh and stocked with shampoo and body wash.

Wifi signal was not great in the bedroom.

Lovely country pub/B&B, with restaurant. Good situation on our route, by the rd, but minimal disruption overnight, or from the bar. Decoration a little tired, but all clean. Breakfast continental delivered to rooms Excellent.

Nothing to dislike.
