The hotel is in an interesting old building opposite the Abbey , the furniture is eclectic and the decor is a bit dated in places, but it's quaint and certainly not shabby. We'd secured the last room and arrived quite late due to traffic, but we still had a place to park and were warmly welcomed by the owner (?) who was waiting for us. Our room was equipped with everything we could need and was bright with a pleasant view from the window. It was spotlessly clean with a modern ensuite. The Wi-Fi was free and fast. The breakfast was good and was served in the attached Italian Restaurant. This restaurant seemed to be the only place attracting a more than a handful of people in Tewkesbury town centre the previous (Saturday) evening. So we decided to eat there and the food was very good.

The room was well equipped, plenty of storage space, tea and coffee making facility, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tv. Spacious walk in shower, with plenty of hot water. Short walk to a great assortment of shops. Initially concerned about the main road location and traffic noise, didn’t hear anything overnight, thanks to the secondary glazing! The breakfast was amazing! Ample parking.

The bed wasn’t the best, felt as though we were sleeping in the mattress rather than on it! Sorry Brian, I was hoping to have seen you before leaving to give you this feedback face to face!

That the proprietors have thought of everything. E. G one can keep car in the free car park until 1.00 p.m after check out, and there was a notice saying so. The room (Room 1) is oh so cosy...lots of space, all the heaters you would ever need... very chinzy... perfectly adequate shower. Location is spectacular... directly opposite the Abbey and the stunning John Moore museum. Delightful breakfast served by delightful people. Oh, and certificates of the sale of the property from (I think) the 16th century. Sl All in all, a terrific find! Friendly, cosy and returnable to.

The hotel room was beautiful.Bed was very comfortable and made up beautifully.Stairs up to bathroom and a fireplace were quirky and added to the rooms ambiance.would definitely stay again.

The only thing to let the stay down was breakfast.Very cheap products used and presentation could do with some attention.Cerials could be presented at table out of boxes and laid out a bit better, not just put on table in any way.Yoghurts should be individual pots and not a couple of large pots to dig into.Nothing major but presentation can be a winner.

Lovely clean old style Hotel, friendly staff and great breakfast a stones throw from a nice walk down by the river and the view out of the hotel window, the lovely Tudor museum with Tewkesbury Abby just poking up over the top.

Right by the river and the view out of the hotel window, the lovely Tudor museum with Tewkesbury Abby just poking up over the top. All the shops pubs and cafe's right on the doorstep as was the nice walk around the grounds of the breath taking Tewkesbury Abby.

The hotel was perfectly situated to visit local attractions, close to the river walks and Tewkesbury Abbey. Some would say dated but we found it to be quaint, quirky and in keeping with the period features. Rooms clean and very comfortable. Owners were lovely and helpful. Breakfast plentiful and freshly cooked to order. Ample parking if everyone parks responsibly. Very quite to say it was on a Main Street. Room well heated. plenty of hot water for showers. lots of nice restaurants within short walking distance.

coffee could have been a little stronger for my partner but that’s just a personal preference but it was freshly brewed coffee served to order at breakfast which is a big plus compared to some hotels we’ve stayed in.

Check-in was seamless, even offering both my colleague and first floor rooms due to our dodgy legs! Rooms were spacious, clean, and warm, with decent towels and plenty of coffee/milk/sugar. Breakfast was very good and prepared and served by a very chirpy member of staff named Lisa. Private off-road parking was a real bonus, as was the location, a mere three minutes stroll from the cross in the centre of town. Also perfect for access to The Cotswolds, The Malverns, Cheltenham, and Gloucester

There was not actually anything that I did not like, but I could see that the decor was a bit dated, and the shower was a little feeble albeit adequate. However, I'm used to a full mains supply shower via a combi boiler; spoilt some would say!

I had booked a budget room so was expecting a small double, I was surprised that I was actually in a King size with a separate single bed in a self contained room. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. Breakfast was great and the cook was very attentive. There was on site parking and it was available until 1PM the following day.

The room was right next to the main road so a lot of road noise, apart from that it was great

Well positioned in town centre, tight butampleparking.warm friendly welcome with great level of local information to help make stay even better. Breakfast excelent and service very good.

The exterior building work made finding the entrance a little tricky, but such renovations in lowseason are a good sign, and of course sometimes necessary. Lack of illuminated light switches on stairs and corridors left us sometimes hunting for them in the dark. But to be fair we arrived earlier than expected and the day was dark and rainy so probably yhe light had not turned on yet. The hotel was so typical of the whole Georgian feel of the town it made one feel that any moment someone from uthe Pickwick Club would wonder in, and yes I know Dickens charecters were technically Victoria, but help illustrate essences this gem of an Hotel.

Comfortable, welcoming and friendly. Well equipped room - loads of coffee and teabags and good sized mugs, hairdryer and even iron and ironing board. A fan for if it's hot and extra electric radiator for when it's cold, and free parking too. Lovely breakfast, great pot of tea and the added feature of the glass covered well in the middle of the dining room. Great position in the town, right opposite the Abbey. If you're after posh luxury, it's probably not for you, but it's a homely place to return to after a busy day and is very good value for money.

Parking a bit tight, but not a problem if everyone is a bit thoughtful., and there's a public car park just yards away that's free after 5.30pm.
