it was exceptionally clean, very comfortable, despite being in a town once inside you felt cocooned it was so calm. Rules were few but clearly stated that guests considered each other in terms of using the property and whether they were early or later risers. We didn’t hear the comings and goings of any other guests during our stay. Breakfast was superb, served in a lovely room by a smiling and helpful landlady. Transport links are very easy, so much so we didn’t use the car all week, saving on parking fees. The number 12 bus - a five minute walk takes you into town and as far as Paignton and Brixham. From Paignton you can go further afield- we went as far as Plymouth @ £2 per journey. The steam railway is a must do.

We wouldn’t change a thing and would like to be able to bottle the ambience to take home.

When entering the Cranmore, Mark and Teresa introduced themselves and gave us a very warm welcome. Each area of the B&B that we used was spotlessly clean, bright, fresh smelling, and good decor. The bed was very comfy, and the complimentary drinks tray in our room was well stocked up each day with good quality tea, coffee, and biscuits. Good size bottles of shower gel, cream, and shampoo were to hand and a hairdryer. We had a roadside room, but traffic noise wasn't a problem, and if it was, Teresa & Mark had thought of everything and left earplugs in one of the bedroom drawers. Breakfast is freshly cooked, with a good selection of choice, and was absolutely delicious. Our juice, tea, and coffee were topped up regularly. Nothing was too much trouble for Teresa and Mark. They and their B&B were absolutely incredible, and our stay in Torquay was made even more enjoyable knowing we were going back each evening to this remarkable B&B.

We liked the property as we had been there 23 years ago. Reminiscing, same room, lovely decor and furnishings, different owners, Teresa & Mark, lovely couple, friendly and attentive to our needs. Situated just outside the town, walking distance. Off road parking, plenty of on road parking if needed. Breakfast was lovely, cereal, juice, fresh fruit, cooked breakfast, toast, my favourite jam, blackcurrant which set us up for the day. What more could you ask for. We would highly recommend The Cranwell.

Breakfast as always was fab. How can you fault the choice and service? Everything freshly cooked and eggs were perfect. Teresa and Mark are great hosts and very welcoming. Plenty of tea/coffee/chocolate in the room with fresh milk available and a fridge to keep it in. Extra available if needed. There is a tv but we walked so much we were too tired to bother and just had a peaceful evening reading. The location was ideal for us to walk into town one day and to the harbour for the ferry to Brixham the next.

My only minor issue is that the hot water takes a while to get through and the bed in room 3 is too hard for us, although we did mention this to Teresa at the time.

The breakfast options were great! You pre order the night before exactly what you want and the time you want it and its there the next morning when you go to the breakfast room. Fantastic service and flexibility.

i loved how clean the whole place was. the decor was just right; not too modern and not too fussy. The place was very tastefully decorated. the bed was really comfortable, which is not always the case in my experience! There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. it was just lovely. so relaxing.

i would’ve liked there to be somewhere to sit outside, when at the guest house but that’s just a personal preference, not a dislike.

What a lovely place to stay. Mark and Teresa are such friendly and helpful hosts and literally go the extra mile to ensure you have an enjoyable, comfortable time. Real attention to detail is evident in how everything is set up in your room to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. The rooms are exceptionally clean, warm and well provisioned. The decor is modern and tasteful. They are also nice and quiet even at the front of the house despite the road outside so you will get a restful night. The breakfast is a great way to start your day. Plenty of options and excellent value. The full english is beautifully cooked - hands down the tastiest and best presented breakfast I've had in a hotel or bed and breakfast - and I have stayed away a lot for work over the years here and abroad. I don't usually tend to have a full english every morning when I am away but I did here because it really is that good. I was a little more careful about what I ate when I went out in the evenings to appease the diet instead! It's a good location to stay if you are holidaying in Torquay. Its a pleasant twenty minute walk from the beach, harbour restaurants and Theatre, Torre Abbey is very close by, but it is also well located if you want to drive further afield from Torquay without having to fight too much with the traffic. Torre railway station is a few minutes walk away too if you dont have the car or dont want to use it. In short, highly recommended. Fantastic place to stay run by two lovely people who really look after you while you are there. Next time I'm in Torquay it will definitely be my first choice.

There is literally nothing not to like.

Parking at the front of the hotel was so convenient. Exceptionally friendly hosts and an overall fantastic stay. We will be back and have no hesitation in recommending this B&B to all. Thanks again Mark and Teresa for going over and above for us.

Very little to not like. Only comment would be the cost but was competitive with others so think that's pretty standard for torquay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were met as soon as we arrived and was even asked whether we needed a hand with our bags. Everything was properly explained to us about breakfast timings and ordering what we would like, to our room. The breakfast was lovely and warm with plenty to eat. We wanted to watch the Liverpool game with Real Madrid and they were kind enough to lend us the NOW stick so we could watch it.

Nothing really. If I was to mention anything it would only be me being really picky. So all in all it was what we expected and more.

Cannot say enough to justify the brilliance of our stay here. We stayed 3 nights as a getaway for my 50th and were met with a lovely card and flowers on arrival in our room, which was so lovely. Teresa and Mark are a fabulous couple who are very accommodating and nothing is too much for them. The breakfasts are absolutely first class and the property is so spotless and clean. We both loved our stay here and would like to thank both Teresa and Mark for making our stay wonderful.
