Stayed at this lovely B&B for 2 nights at the beginning of July as we were attending a family party nearby. We were greeted on our arrival by the very welcoming owners. The suite was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. We walked into town on the first night which took about 10 mins, and ate at a burger restaurant called MEAT59 which had great food and amazing cocktails. Breakfast at Carlton Court was delicious - there was plenty to choose from, either from the menu (highly recommend the avocado on toast with poached egg) or cereals, fruit, orange juice etc. from self serve within the dining room. On the morning of our checkout the lovely hosts gave us a little goody bag with sweets and water for our journey home, which we thought was a really thoughtful touch. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. Thanks for having us

The owners were fabulous and were there to welcome us. There was good off road parking. Spacious, nicely decorated and super clean room with water and flapjacks in the mini fridge. Huge comfy bed. Great breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. The owners advised us on places to visit and eat. They gave us a small goodie bag with water and sweets for our journey home - loved staying there. One of the best guest houses I've ever stayed in.

The shower was a little tricky but once we figured it out it was not the most powerful but did the job.

The breakfast was fantastic, from presentation, quality of the produce, service, selection (freshly squeezed juices, home made jams, freshly prepared fruit salad etc ) the cooking of everything was first class, we felt very privileged indeed to have our food prepared for us by Terry who is evidently at the top of his field, and excellently served to us by Dee, . The very warm welcome on arrival and the hospitality we received from Terry, Dee and staff throughout our stay was excellent. The room we stayed in was named Mimosa, it is a lovely size room, very peaceful very light and airy and is beautifully decorated, and absolutely spotlessly clean. It was a pleasure having breakfast in the morning in the lovely dining room overlooking the pretty rear garden. Car Parking was great with nice big spaces and the B+B is in a lovely peaceful location and is about a 10 minute walk to the sea front. We can't recommend this lovely, homely, spotlessly clean B+B which is run by such wonderful hosts enough.

Apart from leaving, Nothing!!

we loved everything about this property. The hotel was in a great location. The hotel itself was spotless, as was our beautifully decorated bedroom. The breakfast was delicious and the porridge was yummy. We had homemade cookies on arrival and a small leaving bag for our journey home which contained bottled water and sweets, which I thought was a lovely jester.

There was nothing at all that we didn’t like about this hotel and we will definitely be returning. one of the best hotels that we have stayed in.

The location was superb, the views from the room were exceptional. The host were so friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast just what was needed to start the day. The room was delightful, the bed so comfortable that I complained that it was so good, I nearly missed breakfast!! The little extra touches in the room and when we left made the whole stay so so good. We will be returning again!

Nothing to not like about the whole stay.

Suite was really lovely: loads of space; lots of lighting, beautifully furnished and decorated, with very comfortable bed and sofa; two TVs and lots electrical sockets; real coffee machine included in the tea and coffee facilities; really good bathroom with spacious walk-in shower and a shower unit that actually worked well; inclusion of nice touches like the very effective electric fan and fridge. The room also remained quite cool even in the hot weather we experienced while there. Breakfast was also great - you could certainly tell that Terry, one half of the owning couple, was a restauranteur in a former life. De, the other half of the owning couple, was lovely and could not have been more helpful, with her ideas on things to do in and around Torquay, provision of practical information and even making phone calls on our behalf to get the most up-to-date details. Don't hesitate to book Carlton Court - you'll be assured a great stay.

Lynn and Paul run a tight ship , from the moment we arrived they couldn't do enough for us ! Lovely place friendly and helpful what more can you ask for . Spotlessly clean with a lovely breakfast keep up the great service both of you we wish you both well and will definitely come back in the future. Kevin and Chelle

We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Lynn & Paul. The room was excellent, including home-made biscuits everyday and proper milk in the fridge (not longlife!) - there was also bottled still and fizzy water. Breakfast was very good, with a large choice. Nothing was too much bother for them. The weather was not very good but we look forward to going back when the weather is better.

The minute that we arrived we were made to feel welcome. As we were parking our vehicle, De came out to greet us personally. She then showed us through to the main entrance where we were also introduced to Terry. It was clearly evident that our well being & comfort was their primary goal and that nothing would be too much trouble for them. The accommodation is, quite simply first class with incredibly lush interiors and so many other extras [too many to list here]. Take our word on this and find out for yourselves. You will NOT be disappointed. Incidentally, the rooms are fully serviced agin each day during your stay there. The breakfast room is in keeping with the rest of the establishment and is beautifully decorated with an excellent view that overlooks the garden [we will come onto the garden in a moment]. The breakfast itself is superb and the choice & available is clearly complimented by Terry’s obvious cooking skills. Moving onto the garden .... as keen gardeners ourselves, even we were in awe of such a wonderful surrounding. Upon arrival & check in, we took afternoon tea & cream scones in the garden [complete with Terry’s home made scones and home made jam]. I whole heartedly recommend this wonderful experience to anybody from both a culinary & aesthetic point of view. Our stay was absolutely first class [pure & simple] and as we departed, so just as we arrived to a warm greeting from both De & Terry, so they both made a point of a personal and warm farewell from them both. How much did we enjoy our stay there? As we were checking out, we booked again to rerun next month. This was no ordinary B&B. This was a ‘De & Terry’ B&B.

Lovely warm welcome from Lynn on arrival with pink lemonade. Clean room, tasteful decoration and comfortable bed. Fridge in room topped up daily, nice touch. Freshly cooked breakfast each morning and personal chats with both Lynn and Paul. Carlton Court is in a lovely quiet road, considering how central it is. Lynn and Paul did an excellent job - it will be interesting to see them put their own stamp on Carlton Court. Sue and Richard - Cotswolds - stayed September 2022.
