A beautiful old mill with amazing views. Fluffy towels and robes and use of a kitchen downstairs so milk and drinks were kept fresh. Hosts so helpful and thoughtful. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was great and the selection of fresh berries immense. Three of us opted for the cooked breakfast following the fruit and cereal and we were very happy. The dishwasher is in the kitchen. Please note you must not use the Post Code when nearing the Mill. It will send you up a track. If only I had looked at the message from our Hosts to use Google Maps and put in the address. So easy to find that way. Free wi-fi.

A cooked breakfast was unavailable, regrettably, owing to the owner having to leave early for an overseas trip. But instead, my wife and I had full access to the kitchen area for fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread and drinks. Oh, and the home-made orange marmalade was top class. No charge. It felt as though we were staying at a self accommodated location.

The location was rather out of the way. The nearest pub for a meal was miles away down narrow country lanes that were very potholed (not the owner's fault!). But if you like rural English scenery, with gently rolling green countryside, lambs bleating, and a total absence of city noise and pollution, this location is for you.

Breakfast was superb. Choice of cereals & fresh fruit. Cooked breakfast was plentiful, fresh & definitely among the best we have had on our travels. Vegetarian options too. Superb location in the countryside, with a great view of the pond & wildlife,

Parking could be a bit tight for the largest of vehicles but normal family car easily parked. Hosts very helpful for the best place to position your car.

The location was beautiful and quiet. It was lovely to wake up and see the fields literally at the end of the bed, plus the nosey sheep. Location was brilliant with so many places to visit and walks to take. The hosts were second to none, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Plus the breakfast was not only huge but very delicious! Definitely returning to explore a bit more plus make use of the superb looking BBQ hut!

Would have liked a small cooking hob to go with the oven but that's easy to work round when you know. Plus we can BBQ every night!

Very helpful accommodating hosts. The location is great with beautiful views from the mill. Very quiet apart from the sheep and ducks, which we loved. The room was bright and newly decorated, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing for a great night's sleep.

Mirror in the shower room is small, okay for a shave, but I would think if you wanted to do your hair or make up, it would be very difficult. There was a larger mirror in the bedroom. No clothes/towel hooks near the shower. None of this would stop us from booking again.

The breakfast was bountiful. Everything we could want. We had a full English breakfast. Choice of cereals, plus Yoghurt and Fresh fruit. We were given a choice of evening meal. Bonus was that their mother made an old fashioned treacle pudding. Countryside was so quite and peaceful. We enjoyed a good rest while being waited on was nice for a change.

Can't faulty anything about the place. Only the description was a bit confusing. It said that there was a TV in the shared area. So I wanted to know if there is one in our room because we really like to relax on the bed. They ensured me that there is a TV in our room. Also I was confused as to if it was B and B or self catering. Turned out that it was both. A big kitted out shared Kithchen. That is a real plus if you want to keep your drink cold or want to quickly microwave your food. Most B and Bs in UK don't have a fridge and I think that's a shortfall. So we were very happy with that. I think if they explained this in the advert on Booking.com even more people will choose it over others. I would.

What a perfect stay! I selected Astwell Mill as a peaceful venue to stay to relax and prepare the night before an important job interview. It absolutely exceeded my expectations. The hosts were wonderfully friendly, it was like staying at a relatives house but still with the privacy I needed to switch off and prep for the next day. Waking up on interview day to a stunning view of the Lake was perfect and the breakfast to follow absolutely delicious. We have already said we want to go back for a longer stay and would recommend it to all of our friends and family! Thank you :)

Nothing. Loved it here.

My Dad and I had such a great stay over Easter weekend, with an easy journey to Silverstone for the racing. A really beautiful setting with our room overlooking the lake and stunning spring views to wake up to! Mark and Cassie are fantastic hosts - helpful with local amenities, we had the most delicious homemade pie for dinner and a scrumptious cooked breakfast; such genuine and lovely people. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for everything - Mum and Dad are planning their visit!

The fact that I had to leave!

The building, area, and owners were all amazing. I originally booked a different room, but sent a message to let them know we were bringing our Labrador with us and they upgraded us to a bigger room free of charge so she would have more space, so that was amazing of them, and it was really nice to be in such a dog friendly venue. They were very accommodating and helped out with any questions.

I can't say there was anything not to like.

Our stay at Astwell Mill from start to finish was amazing. We were greeted by Mark who gave us fresh milk for a hot drink in our room and made us feel very welcome. The facilities were wonderful and after a relaxing bath, we were ready to have a lovely night's sleep in the huge bed (which probably had the softest bedding I've ever stayed in!) The breakfast was lovely, a selection of cereals with fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast and jams and Mark and Cassie were always on around if we needed anything. Location and views were beautiful. We cannot wait to stay here again
