Warm and welcoming place with self check in made easy by clear instructions. We arrived very late and it made things quick and easy to find our room and get settled in quietly. We arose in the morning to a beautiful day, gorgeous scenery and the opportunity to wander around the premises. Honestly, we felt like royalty for a few hours. A huge dining room table supplied with a tasty, fresh and wholesome continental breakfast. A massive conservatory to sit in a see the view. Comfortable batwing chairs near the honesty bar, and a plethora of very entertaining art and decor. Had to double take a few, but made us laugh. What a brilliant start to a day.

Only one slight issue in that I couldn't get the bath plug to work, but it was reported and they said they'd fix it right away.

The property was beautiful with lot's of character and was very spacious in terms of the bedroom and en suite bathroom. The location is beautiful too, well away from the main road and surrounded by countryside and trees. The property had all the facilities you would associate with a hotel and despite there being nobody physically there to meet you or interact, the privacy works well if that is what you are looking for and the host was available on WhatsApp so could be contacted at any time. The breakfast was wonderful, Continental but all the favourites including bread, bagels, cereals, yoghurts, milk, tea, coffee, fruit juice, water, condiments etc.

Nothing really, the floors creaked a bit but then this is a traditional old property so you have to accept things like this but was NOT off putting at all.

One of the best and most memorable properties where I have stayed. Everything from the location, cleanliness and the facilities provided. For those preferring to stay in a heritage and palatial type of property and feel nature it is a perfect place as you are not very far from the town and still in a nice, serene environment. Furthermore, it is just adjacent to Hinton airport where skydiving is conducted. So, if one is interested in skydiving, then it is an additional advantage. The breakfast was also amazing. Wish I could have stayed longer instead of one night. As it was earlier a princely state, hence, the property is too big and spacious and can give a feel of loneliness for single couples or small families.

Need for a microwave to be commonly used by the guests

Beautiful. Peaceful. Dark skies and deep silence. Excellent continental breakfast and very comfortable bed. The bar, dining room (what a chandelier and I itched to play the grand piano!) and conservatory/sitting room were lovely. Spotlessly clean and though we never saw the staff the results of hard work were obvious. We loved the quirky hands for hooks in the bedroom.

We didn’t mind that it was remote but it is over a mile off the road and you must take care because of other cars, horses - and deer! So a little unnerving to begin with. Also it was colder than we really liked on arrival but warm enough by bedtime. The floors are plain wood or cold tiles which we found slippery and we couldn’t get the rain shower to work. However we understand there was a plumbing problem elsewhere and perhaps that affected it. We did wonder if more work was planned for the building as some bits seemed unfinished.

Location positive, pleasantly quiet, romantically remote even! However trips to find where to eat, for example in Aynho, were rather long after an evening arrival. Splendid house and furnishings. A special experience to have such a place for one night.

The breakfast was a little disappointing, understandably perhaps since it is not feasible to prepare just for one room. Not a complaint but we would have enjoyed speaking briefly to the owners/managers to know more about the place and it's surroundings.

Good choice and range of food for breakfast and a lot of thought went into it. The dining room beautifully set out, and so quiet! We more or less had the place to ourselves! We would absolutely stay again.

I chose to have a croissant for breakfast, opened the protective wrapper and discovered the bottom of it was mouldy. It was in date so just a faulty wrapper I am guessing. Could use more tea spoons being available, and there was no where to bin any rubbish. Checkout was strange, as we didn’t see any staff to hand the keys to, so left them in our room as this was the other option given. Hubby had to return as forgot something and was told we should have put the key in the key safe we got it from, but this was not what it said in the instructions!

Interesting country house b & b in a beautiful location. Local produce for breakfast which was self-service continental. This was better than expected with a fridge full of goodies. Good selection of tea & coffee pod machine in our bedroom plus proper glasses not plastic cups! Pleased to find a hand towel each (as well as bath towels) as so many places provide just a small single one.

Rather confused on check in as no name/number on bedroom door so it was a case of trying each key to find correct room! There were instructions on the 'welcome info' but our name was not on either sheet so we didn't know which one to take. No staff on site so all communication is via text/email. Understand this keeps costs down but would have been good to see someone on departure. 'Kitch' decor not in keeping with this lovely, historic house.

This was a wonderful place in a glorious setting. It was unusual in that we did not meet our hosts at all but everything was so perfect it felt like they were discreetly present to attend to our every need. Our room was a delight and the continental breakfast an absolute treat with a marvellous range of options. The welcome booklet contained everything we needed to know and we were directed to a number of places for an evening meal. We went to a wonderful country pub in a nearby village which greatly added to the enjoyment of our stay

Just the lack of a non-slip mat in the shower. I nearly came a cropper- no doubt as much the fault of my old age as the lack of a mat However a mat would make senior people (especially) feel more secure if the shower base is not non-slip.

Stunning house. Directions were spot on. Easy access to the house and room key. We were in the Rouge room. Large bedroom , beautifully decorated and the bathroom was modern and spotless. Very comfortable bed and a nice quiet nights sleep. We needed a 5.30am breakfast. Everything was laid out for us in a stunning dining room. More than enough choices to prepare us for the day. At the bottom of the garden was a small airfield where we watched the skydivers throughout afternoon. Would highly recommend this beautiful property.

Absolutely nothing to dislike 😀

Breakfast was well laid out with plenty of choice and variety

There is a need for a waste bin probably close to the coffee/tea table so that tea bags fruit skins and any packaging can be placed away from the dining table . Although the tea / coffee facilitates in the bedroom was most adequate at no time was there a milk supply in the room . Any early coffee/ tea drink in the morning either had to be without milk or you had to take you cups to the fridge in the dining room for milk. Which meant you had to be dressed to do that.
