We received a warm welcome on our arrival, and were given clear instructions on how to get to our room, where to park for easiest return later that night, and where to come for breakfast. The only minor thing we would suggest could be added to our room (216) would be a small shelf on which to put an alarm clock, or spectacles, etc. There was one velour-upholstered chair in the room, but the cushion seat curved in such a way that anything put on it rolled or slid onto the floor. Not a catastrophe by any means, but if that happens to your glasses while you're asleep, you might end up stepping on them, if you have to get up in the night. đ The mattress was comfortable enough, and the bathroom, although dated and in keeping with the bargain price we paid, was perfectly suited to our needs. The towels were very nice too. The breakfast cereal range was good, and the options included in the cooked breakfast were very good, and it was hot, because it was cooked to order (unlike many other hotel chains where they batch-cook and try to keep things warm under heater-lights). We both enjoyed what we had. And it was lovely to see Rainforest Alliance Coffee bags in the rooms; the smell is gorgeous, and knocks the thin strips of Freeze-dried brands for six. Finally, a word about the lady member of staff who greeted us so charmingly when we arrived (We're sorry, but we didn't catch her name), and served us at breakfast on the morning we left; Thank you so much for the courtesy and attentiveness you showed us. It makes such a difference to the view visitors form of an establishment.

The hotel is definitely quirky. For instance you check in next to the pub and you immediately need to go downstairs walk through a couple doors and then proceed upstairs to get to your room. May be an issue for people with mobility issues. I did not see a lift. The hotel is very old but clean. I loved that it has not been renovated to look new but the historical charm remains. The bed was comfortable and a relatively large room (for Europe). Bathroom was great. The attached pub has a limited but great dinner menu and many local beers. The hotel is located at the end of a pedestrian street right in the city centre.
I think the bathroom was made for a very tall person. I could barely see in the mirror. I could not reach the window to close it in the bathroom. I think it was left open after cleaning.

The Lyndon House Hotel is a very friendly and welcoming Hotel with bags of character. The Bar area is very traditional and has a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices and the evening menu is your standard pub fayre, once again at reasonable prices and very tasty. The Breakfast has a reasonable selection and is prepared to order from the standard cooked options with additional continental choices also available. The room was spacious, tidy and had all the normal in-room facilities.
Although the venue has lots of character the rooms do need some re-decoration to brighten them up. This did not affect my very pleasant stay.

It's an interesting building and a shame I didn't have any more time to investigate it. The room was quaint, the bathroom exactly where it should be, en-suite. The best part was the cooked breakfast. Both the bacon and the sausage were superb, and the whole ensemble cooked exactly as I asked for. I couldn't have wished for better.
I would have preferred to have a chair in my room. I don't particularly appreciate watching TV lying on a bed. The building is old, so the shower means stepping into the bath, which is a hazard for older people like me.

We were visiting Walsall to see our granddaughter perform in a synchronised swimming competition the following morning. Lyndon House was close by and they allowed us to leave the car while we went to the event. Our room was incredible, outside the main building, like a little bungalow. Lovely decoration and style. The bed was extremely comfortable; the bed linen beautifully soft; large bath towels; very tasty coffee bags. The breakfast was very well cooked and tasty; very nice brown toast. Very attentively overseen by a young but efficient member of staff.
I cannot think of anything that was not done ârightâ unless you want to start asking for extra things that are obviously going to increase prices and change the whole purpose of the hotel.

Friendly greeting and an upgrade as it was a quiet night when I stayed, I was greeted with a 4 poster bed and a jacuzzi bath đ This is the second time I have stayed here and both times in different rooms, they are all lovely, clean and tidy. Each room has a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, TV and lots of storage space. The bar is small but has a good atmosphere, nice sun garden out the back and the breakfast in the morning is so good!
Maybe a bit of an upgrade for some of the electrical items, for example the hairdryer is wired into the wall and it would be much easier if it could be moved around. No biggie really as it does the job, but would be an extra ease.

The staff work very hard, and have particularly charming and helpful manners. There is a very pleasant view from the dining-room, and an especially charming terrace.
Bed was a bit hard. It's an old building, which is part of its charm, and the furnishings are correspondingly venerable, but stuff mostly works fine. In our room there was a tap which came to pieces when you touched it -- nice old antique fitting, but not at all solid, however it also worked. The hairdryer is plumbed into a wardrobe, so to get it out far enough to use it in front of the mirror is not an easy job. All very atmospheric, but amiable.

The major factor this hotel has in abundance, is all members of it's staff. They are most welcoming, and make every effort to make your stay a most pleasing experience. Special mention must be made for the quality of bed provided, clean comfortable and warm, guaranteeing a good nights sleep. Special mention must be made for both the quality and size of the breakfasts provided, you will need a good appetite to manage to eat it all - "absolutely outstanding" This is a traditional Welcoming English pub, long may it continue.
The bedroom could do with a little updating it's rather tired, especially the lighting in the bathroom could be improved, as it is somewhat difficult to shave in dim light. It should be highlighted that there are numerous stairs to be encountered and some people with mobility issues may find difficulty in coping. A booklet with some of the facilities offered by the hotel would be of benefit to guests, together with some local information.

The location was perfect for us , the property exceeded expectations, a nice ambiance in the Bar/Lounge , there was an outdoor Beer Garden (unfortunately we didnât use) and the dining area for Breakfast was spacious ..Food was good, Breakfast was excellent and the service from all staff was again excellent .. all 3 who served us over our stay were friendly, attentive and courteous .. I would recommend Lyndon House to anyone who wants a good budget accommodation which for myself and my wife was 5 star ..
Without being critical the TV was too small đ

staff couldnt do more for me, and were very helpful with any questions that i had. breakfast was a full english that was lovely i would definitely recommend staying here. the location is great next to the town centre which has lots of resturants.
i have nothing to say about my stay regards to the hotel, what i would say is i felt a little unsafe in the evening walking through the shopping centre so decided on the second night to get ubers to resturants so as not to walk through. it wasnt very late about 9.30 at the latest and was still light.
