We were upgraded on arrival and had a beautiful large and airy room overlooking the garden and patio. There are no lifts, but our bags were carried to the 1st floor on request. The breakfast experience was one of the best, a lovely table served by such a pleasant and helpful waitress who served us with an excellent meal.

We felt that the bar lacked atmosphere, being the only late drinkers, we felt that the bar person should have engaged with us a little more. Also, a small personal point, being in our early 80`s and reasonably agile, we found that the lack of a hand rail or chain when using the very steep front steps to the pavement rather un-nerving.

utterly stunning Hotel, staff are delightful so friendly and helpful, the rooms are all beautiful with individual touches and so incredibly pretty (well Mine was ) my Grandson with me loved his room and was very impressed with the hotel, The Gardens are so well laid out with little private corners to sit in and such a huge array of spring flowers it was so relaxing to spend time sitting out in them, the Bar was super really great Barman, wines beers etc were really good, now to the restaurant, WOW, the breakfasts are cooked to order and such a choice the freshness and quality of food is some of the best i have ever eaten in Hotels and i travel a lot, I particularly loved the avocado on the sour dough with spicy tomato salsa topped with poached eggs now that's how to start the day, My grandson loved the eggs benedict and from the general response from the other guests the other options were equally appreciated. again great professional service from very attentive waiters and nothing was to much trouble, Onto Dinner, again incredible we went with sharing choice which was an amazing selection of starters, smoked salmon, king prawns, Pate salads and lovely little croutons, the main a Chateaubriand OMG! melt in the mouth deliciousness, with all the usual accompaniments but to a much higher standard than in general. followed by tarte Tatin mmmm incredible. served with our choice of a Pinot noir again great pairing. will be back again and again, Thankyou to all at the Hotel for a wonderful couple of days.

everything was superb, from the greeting on arrival to checkout. loved every moment of our stay, will definitely revisit when back in the UK.

Perfect location for access to the city centre. Parking is very easy for a city centre hotel. Friendly and very helpful hotel staff. We had a Deluxe Double Room which was well equipped and everything worked as it should, the large bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast offerings were not a strength, but everything else was in good supply and the quality was high. The coffee was very good.

Access to the room was via a narrow flight of steps which we did not expect. In common with older hotels, there are a few places where steps need to be negotiated. Reading lights over the bed were not ideal but were adequate. The choice of channels on the TV was limited. Street noise was noted, but it quietened down later in the evening.

Location in City centre excellent with convenient car parking. The breakfast choices were very good and the choice of menu for the evening dinner was good. We had opted for a deluxe room which was larger than expected and very comfortable.

Unfortunately the bathroom toilet ceased to function one morning and we had to visit the toilets on the ground floor. (Some four flights of stairs below, not good for we elderly residents!) A repair/replacement part was fixed while we were absent. We were also asked to pay for an evening meal we had not taken on checking out. Both these problems were dealt with efficiently when highlighted by us at reception.

Room - for the same price as a travelodge (but to be fair, I did book last minute so it was slightly cheaper than normal at £109) it was spectacular. very quirky and colourful, good facilities inside. Location - very close to station, about a 10 minute walk. it did take me half an hour but that's because I got completely lost and my google maps didn't work. once you get closer to it, it's very easy to see and has a nice outside entrance Staff - I only really interacted with one younger man with a cool nose piercing, he was there to welcome me when I checked in and then there to say goodbye when I checked out the next morning. he showed me to my room and was very friendly, he told me about the breakfast which I found helpful, he was also very easy to talk to and it put me at ease as I was travelling alone and wasn't really sure what to expect.

Tiny tiny thing, one of the coffee teabag things was opened when I got in, but I didn't mind as there was another one there anyway for me to use.

location is perfect and with on site parking, this was a big plus. The property itself had a lot of charm and character with a very nice outdoor area.

Unfortunately, the bathroom facilities in the room let down the whole experience. The shower was like a fine drizzle that lacked power and volume. Impossible for partner to wash her hair. The shower tray also wasn’t draining properly and appeared to have an obstruction to proper water drainage. Finally, the cistern in the toilet stopped filling with water after a few uses, so I had to lift off lid and manually press the valve to get water to flow. All this was reported at check-out.

An excellent location in a fine old Georgian building handy for all the sights. Strong Wi-Fi. Comfortable bed and facilities in the room. Very good breakfasts both buffet and cooked.

It's an old building right on a main road and has secondary double glazing. One panel was broken and would not close resulting in loud traffic noise from 5am. We reported it after our first night of three but nothing happened.

The room had a nice view of the courtyard garden, and was well appointed with expected amenities, and hot drink facilities. There was an excellent breakfast menu, and the service was attentive. Service in the garden and the bar was also very good. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful without exception.

The aircon didn't appear to be working, but the windows did open to help with an unexpectedly warm evening for the time of year. A magnifying mirror in the room or bathroom would be helpful.

We had a lovely time ! place was good as near city centre.on both days of my stay when I asked for vegetarian breakfast.they had no beans or veg sausages .and no normal sausages for the men !

Nice .but shocking prices for nuts crisps etc .I think some things should be complementary. As we are oaps saved up for a while .! Not cheap for two days .

Very attentive staff, especially in the restaurant. Well appointed room. Room was clean, good decor, well maintained. Very good city centre location with excellent on site secure Parking.

Public areas, reception, hall, stairs, bar, all a bit shabby and not very clean. Room overlooking a busy road, noisy from traffic even on a Sunday evening.
