Lovely hotel and spa area was excellent. Rooms were decelerated nicely. Good location, only a 10 minute walk to centre of Winchester. Staff were very helpful and polite.

We arrived on a bank holiday weekend so the hotel was very busy, which meant we had to wait an hour to check in. However, we were offered a free drink in the bar that evening. When we did check in, we went to use the spa but was told it was full so we’d have to wait. This was a little frustrating as we were late checking in. The spa was worth the wait though and we really enjoyed it and were able to go again the next day. Upon check out, the staff gave us a 20% refund which we appreciated. Would definitely stay again, just not on a bank holiday weekend!

Stayed on the 2nd floor that had just been refurbished with phallic looking wallpaper and carpet. You will know when you see it and you then cannot unsee it but it's a good talking point. The room was well designed and updated and the spa was relaxing. The Gym also had new equipment, just need to get the TV's working on the machines but minor thing. Weights not heavy enough in Gym but goes up to 20kg which is acceptable for a hotel Gym. All in all I would recommend it if you can get a refurbished room.

TBH not much apart from better Gluten free breakfast options would be good. Normal breakfast was nice and sorted me out after a few drinks from the night before.

The hotel is within 5 minutes drive of the town centre and the Cathedral. Marwell Zoo and West Quay (Southampton) are both within 30 minutes drive. The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The room we had was warm comfortable clean and modern with a kettle and small fridge and an iron and hairdryer. The pool and spa is relaxing - pool is very small though. There’s plenty of loungers around the pool with a sauna , steam room and jacuzzi within the same area. There’s also a lovely cool quiet “lounge” off of the pool with relaxing music. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

There’s nothing we didn’t like about this hotel - the only minor “issue” is the parking which you have to pay for between 8am and 6pm. There’s parking both in front of and behind the hotel but both are not free.

Great stay… This was our second stay in 2 weeks at Winchester Hotel and spa and our stay was just as great as our first time. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and our room was faultless, it was very clean, modern and the bed was very comfortable. We managed to use the spa facilities on this occasion and were pleasantly surprised how clean and fresh it was. The pool is a bit small but it had everything we need for a relaxing couple of hours

The breakfast could be better, the cooked breakfast kept running out of items and the time I’d waited for the beans the rest of my breakfast was cold.. the fried eggs had sat there for so long that they had the appearance of a soft egg but were cold and had gone hard. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was ‘ok’ at best… very overpriced in my opinion.

Room.style was lovely, newly refurbished. Very comfortable bed. Great shower.

Great location 10 minute walk to centre, Friendly staff, The hotel is clean smart and tidy. The rooms were excellent and bathroom was immaculate with an amazing walk in shower. We didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that but the restaurant looked very smart as did the bar area and there was a lovely terrace at the front of the hotel to sit and have a drink. Unfortunately didn’t get a chance to use the pool and spa but we were so impressed that we have booked a two night stay in a couple of weeks so that we can use all of the facilities Overall this hotel was exceptional and excellent value for money

Although there is a small parking area belonging to the hotel at the side it is chargeable… there is also a large council car park at the front of the hotel which is £7.30 for 24 hours

Almost everything about the hotel was fab. Great room, lovely lunch and lunchtime staff. It was only let down by the breakfast and staff the following morning.

I greeted a female with a 'Good Morning' but the response was silence and what I and my wife described as a look of distain. We were then left to stand for a few minutes before the same female showed us to a table. The table was then wiped down after we had been seated. The coffee was pale and tasteless akin to a watered down old pot of coffee. I had to ask and wait for plates to put our breakfast on. I also had to ask for orange juice jug to be re filled. No sugar etc on table. There were no bowls for fruit. Hardly any choice of pastries. This was a dissapointing morning after what had been a lovely day before. A sad end.

The room was very spacious and clean and housekeeping always left it looking lovely. The spa was excellent with friendly staff. The spa wasn't too busy and was a relaxing place to spend some time. The treatment I had was excellent.

Unfortunately we had a rather disappointing experience in the restaurant. The greeting as we arrived was rather hurried as was the service. I had an issue with my burger, as I had requested no bun, but it then came with none of the accompaniments either. I did mention this to two separate staff who were sorry and I probably should have dealt with it sooner, or asked to speak to a manager, but it was difficult to catch the attention of a staff member and I didn't want to march into the kitchen to find someone. Other than that the food was very good, but the experience generally meant we didn't eat in the restaurant again.

Really lovely hotel. Was easy to park behind the hotel, easy check-in with friendly staff. The bedroom was really spacious for a standard double with everything needed for your stay. The spa facilities were lovely, nice and clean, lots of loungers to use and very spacious area. We didn’t have any treatments, they were a tad too expensive. Would definitely stay at the hotel & spa again.

The air con really made no difference to the temperature of the room. It was a really super hot day, we could’ve benefited of turning the air con right down past the default temperature of 18….why on earth do hotels set the temperature and not allow you to do this to suit your requirements. The grouting in the bathroom by the bath / shower was all yellow / orange and could’ve done with a good scrub to remove it. But a nice bathroom none the less.

The hotel was lovely; we were told at the time of booking that some of the rooms are being refurbished but that didn't impact on our stay at all (no mess/noise etc). We stayed in a club double room & it was clean, very comfortable and modern. Air con and a fridge in the room was a bonus as it was very hot in Winchester when we stayed. Breakfast was very good - a hot and cold buffet with a really good selection. The hotel has its own car park (chargeable) but there's a council run car park at the front of the hotel too. This is free on a Sunday (and not particularly busy when we were there as it's a little way from the city centre).

If I had to be REALLY picky, a brighter light in the main bedroom would have been good for drying my hair etc (or a mirror where the coffee/tea/fridge is as that area was really well lit).
