Lovely location, great food, and wonderful beer. Great place to base yourself for a tour of the lakes, and very welcoming for dog owners. Gorgeous bar and dining area and a great menu. Really enjoyed our dinner and breakfast. Lovely fresh, hot foot. The room was comfortable, if warm, and extremely clean.

Room was very hot, and when we opened the window there was a noisy fan on the roof that was running almost all the time that we were there. The staff were pleasant but we would have liked to learn more about the different beers and maybe had the opportunity to try some samples, but that didn't seem to have been a possibility. It was a little disappointing as we chose the inn specifically because it was a micro brewery.

Another great stay. We always try to book room 8 which has a nice flowered balcony to the front of the building, overlooking the outside bar area and fields. The bedroom is comfortable, although the shower room is minimal. Residents have their own entrance but access is also via the Smithy Bar. We particularly love the Watermill Brewery Beers and the bar food selection is pretty impressive too. Breakfast is always of a good quality, choice and plentiful. Plenty of onsite parking. Located 4 miles outside Windermere.

We found the Watermill perfect for our visit to the Lake District. Location was great for our needs and with plenty of secure parking. A fabulous and substantial breakfast was included in the overall price. Evening food menu, although not extensive was very good and included vegan items which was a plus.. Definitely will stay here again, going to try the recently renovated cottage with friends nexy time..

Dog friendly and an excellent on site brewery with a good selection of Gluten Free options on the menu(and not just taking the gluten items off the plate). I’d recommend booking a table if you’re planning to eat there as there is no where else within a couple of miles in each direction. Tho I would also recommend eateries in Staveley and Windermere but the house brewed beer is very good. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Our room(no 7) was small but we did have an outside terrace which would have been a boon if the weather played ball.

A fantastic pub hotel set in a beautiful old building in a great setting. The room was spotlessly clean and felt really cosy (something that the chain hotels can lack). The pub and dining room were lovely, real character, the staff were really helpful and friendly and gave a genuinely warm welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and if I'm ever up that way again it will be my first choice. P.s. I can thorughly recommend the full English breakfast, the best I've had for a long time.

I had to change my booking at the last minute due to a family emergency and Linda and the team did all they could to accommodate us and rebook. When we got to the Watermill Brewery we also booked a table for food at 6.30pm, we were hungry so changed it to earlier and again, the staff did everything they could to accommodate us (it was very busy and they moved us around so we could fit in and had space for the dog to lie down with us). We were worried the room might be noisy as it's next to a busy A road but it was really quiet. We were up in the attic room and there was lots of space, there was even a little space under the eaves for the dog bed and dog to snuggle up under. We slept really well. The breakfast was great! My husband had the full 'English' and I had the same (minus the animal products) and it was a good plateful again. We also had some lovely toast and marmalade (and jam!). Fruit juice and cereal was also available. I had the vegan garlic bread for starter and vegan burger for mains, they were both great (pub grub but prefect after a run on the fells!). My husband had the baked brie to start and meat pie for mains and again, a good plateful of food. We like a pint and the selection was great! I loved how they were all named around dogs! Everyones furry friends were very welcome. I really can't recommend Watermill Brewery and their staff highly enough, we will definitely be back!

I can't think of anything that I didn't like. For the price it was very good and we will definitely recommend and be back!

Excellent breakfast and lovely staff

The breakfast was excellent however the evening meal was disappointing. We waited a hour for our meal, spoke to the lady behind the bar and she mentioned to the other staff that ‘John’ had walked out. The steak arrived and it was over cooked. I spoke to the person who delivered our meal and he said he would speak to the chef and that was the last time we saw anyone. The pub was not organised when delivering meals. Several people inquired about the time of their meals arriving.

The breakfast was delicious. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which came really quickly. The room was very clean and it was nice to have the little terrace to sit out on. Easy to find, just off the main road with plenty of space for parking.

The room was a little small but was OK for one night. I would have expected table service when dining but I was sat at my table for a good 10 mins and no-one came and asked me if I wanted a drink or if I was ready to order.

Great welcome and local info for a morning dog walk. Room and restaurant spotlessly clean. Staff extremely polite. Breakfast continental selection very good and hot food excellent. Very pet friendly - waitress reset my table to outdoors so dog was more relaxed!

An old building so creaky floorboards from upstairs woke us early. Could here next door getting ready for breakfast too. I would recommend slightly longer curtains as the sun came under and the pillow is next to window so again affected wake time.

The hotel itself is so lovely to look at, as soon as we arrived we could tell it was a friendly and inviting place. We brought our puppy along, so this was our first little trip away the 3 of us and we are expecting our first baby in October so this was a special trip for us. We are so glad we stayed at The Watermill Inn, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The venue was so dog friendly. The food we ate at the restaurant was amazing and our room was lovely too. We couldn't of asked for a better stay.
