We loved our room, which had a view looking out onto the gardens. The space was big enough for two to stay comfortably and the bathroom had great shower and bath, and nice soaps etc. The dinner was delicious, much better than I expected after reading reviews. The location is on a very pretty street, and has a shortcut to walk into town through an alleyway.

The english breakfast was a little underwhelming (dry bacon, cold toast, unseasoned tomatoes). This is more hotel than country B&B in that sense. The staff were lovely but it was often hard to find someone to help. The bar is not manned so you have to search the hotel first. Burford itself is busy and the pubs are not very cosy. I'd recommend exploring elsewhere for some peace.

The breakfasts were great. There was plenty of choice and all laid out attractively

We were upgraded which was very nice and the room was eccelly. The only downside was that we had very steep stairs to climb but was worth it when we got to our amazing room

Quiet, olde world. Close to the HIGH STREET. Parking. Lovely fruit and cereal.

The breakfast staff need to have a better understanding of people's eating sequence. Generally, it's fruit juice and cereal first, so the tea/coffee should be offered after that, rather than immediately upon arrival then going cold on the table. This morning was even worse as we had just sat down to eat our cereal when we were asked for our breakfast choices, which then arrived 2 minutes later! There was a wedding here that day, so they obviously wanted to get the kitchen ready as soon as possible. Not impressed.

Lovely, characterful property. Very clean, great location and lovely interiors. Room was large as we had a lounge area with sofa bed made up for our child. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere and great to enjoy garden games in the lovely grounds. Restaurant and food was very good also! Thank you.

Minor things - lacking attention to detail in things like not have any salt on tables filled up, no butter when serving breakfast etc. The shower in our room was below par and leaked a lot over the flooring which clearly needed fixing.

Everyone was very nice and the room was larger than we expected. They also had a good car park with plenty of room. We had a very tasty dinner in the restaurant. It's around the corner on sheep street so it was very quiet. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.

On Monday morning the breakfast room was very crowded. They had only one cook and he was so far behind that we never did actually get breakfast. We waited almost an hour, but we had an appointment an hour's drive away so we had to leave. That said, we would definitely stay there again.

Firstly, Alana made the booking process seamless and she was fantastic to deal with. The front of house are very helpful and could not fault their service. The rooms are clean and and spacious with comfortable beds. Location is great, just a minutes walk to the high street. Would stay again and recommend.

The staff in the bar area were clearly untrained and frustrated by this. They argued amongst themselves, had their backs turned when customers were waiting to order, didn’t know what any of the wines were (we had to point them out in the fridge) and the wine pours couldn’t have been more than 75ml. This really lets down The Bay Tree Hotel as the service was embarrassingly bad.

Service was excellent for both evening meal and breakfast. Excellent that it is a dog friendly hotel and dogs able to join you for dinner and breakfast in the bar. Hotel also provided beds for the dogs. Very welcoming to all. Room spacious and over looked the garden. Great also to have two small bottles of water. Bed was huge as well as tall and comfortable.

Had garden view room but disappointed that dogs were not able to access the garden. There is an extra charge per dog and for each night's stay. The cleaning of the room with dogs is no more than having just 2 adults staying in the room.

All the staff were friendly and professional. On arrival I went to reception where 3 members of staff were talking (buisness) on seeing me the lady on reception immediatly broke off, acknowledged me and came out to show me where to park and show us the room. Great old buiding. Very comfortable bed, quality toileteries, coffee bags, tea pigs and chocolates in the room. Good storage space, iron, hairdrier etc. . Plenty of snug corners to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the main building. Good selection at breakfast and the full english was good quality and well cooked.

The Wifi whilst tecnically free requires you to give the provider and the hotel permission to collect and use unspecified data. For this reason I chose not to use it so cannot comment on it's quality. This was inconvenient as my 4g was non existant.

The garden room was very nice and well equipped with a lovely view and not overlooked. Some nice touches like the umbrella by the door as you have to walk outside to get into the main hotel (thankfully we didn't need it). The location was perfect for the wedding we attended at Stone Barn, and to take a stroll into Burford.

My wife's cooked breakfast was just about Luke warm when it arrived, was missing an item and she felt the scrambled eggs were not cooked well. We brought it to the attention of the staff serving and the quickly sorted it out with a fresh breakfast and apologies..very well handled.

We love the location, the fact that it’s so old and steeped in history. The fires and the ambiance.

I don’t really think there’s anything not to like about the property. However, we did have to wait over half an hour for breakfast and it wasn’t busy. Breakfast did have room for improvement when it eventually came, I think we were forgotten as people arriving after us were eating before we were served, consequently, toast & tea were cold. First world problems yes! But first world prices should reflect standards.
