This is a lovely, historic inn with the expected uneven flooring, twists and turns. This is exactly what we expected and hoped for. Staff were very helpful about securing our bicycles in a safe location in the lovely courtyard. Our room was ample with a very nice modern bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast is served in the beautiful dining room with views of the courtyard, very charming! The food was good and ample. The inn is a couple of blocks from the main street with all the pubs and restaurants and shops.

If you like historic inns, nothing needed improving!

Beautifully decorated for Christmas, a welcome open lit fire to come down to in the morning. Elegant refined Character English hotel well furnished with antiques & arts. Easy walk to shops. Helpful polite smiling staff & a really nice touch to receive a Welcome letter offering help/directions with parking/help with bags if needed. Breakfast was just a treat so nicely presented Excellent menu/attentive staff and stunning dining room with swags of Christmas greenery & warm white gentle fairy lights. Thank you!

Plastic cartons of milk in the room 🤦‍♀️must go! Please offer guests a small jug of fresh milk on arrival. My bedroom was warmly decorated with designer wallpaper an thick linen curtains-sumptuous bed Small ensuite fine for me but if you like more space in your shower ask for a different room. You offer the finest choice of Coffees/Teas & delicious chocolates/biscuits. Very appreciated. Shame about the plastic mini milks.

The location of the Lamb is excellent, short walk to the centre of Burford. A quiet and pleasant road, parking at the next door hotel. The breakfast was good, the hotel is in a very old and traditional building, comfortable room and good public rooms.

The staff were not terribly welcoming and customer friendly or knowledgable. There seemed to be a general lack of training, when a small mistake was made there was no apology.Rather overpriced .

The staff, room & food were lovely. The location was fantastic, just a 2 minute walk from the High Street. So traffic was not a problem. The cosy lounge area at night was great for chilling out after a busy day of sightseeing. The bedrooms were lovely - comfortable & nicely decorated.

Hardly anything, really. We stayed in the Tannery, so there were just a few silly things like no small hook for a hand towel in the bathroom - that would have been great & the windows didn't close due to age & paint. But the heating was on - so it was always warm. It's just not very eco-friendly.

The shower was a little challenging as the bit that holds the shower head was broken. Would have liked a vegetarian option for breakfast. There was only an option for a full English or vegan.

I had a really friendly reception from the staff, who were really helpful - I was able to check in even though I'd arrived a bit early, and the bulb was changed immediately in a lamp. The room was smaller than I expected, but very comfortable. It was a bit stuffy at night, but I couldn't open the window (it was stuck, but also on the ground floor). The bar has a lovely atmosphere and is really comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a good range of choices, including for vegetarians.

The room was a bit small for the price, but I guess you're paying for the great location as well as all the other facilities which were lovely.

We asked to change rooms after the first night as my husband was finding the stairs difficult. The staff member was very helpful and moved our bags to the new room. Furnishings throughout the hotel were lovely and we particularly enjoyed the cooked breakfasts.

Nothing.

Very comfort bed in a spacious room with a good sized bathroom. The restaurant meal and breakfast was very good. The breakfast was freshly cooked. It is not cheap but you get what you pay for and the village is lovely.

The only minor issue was that the road outside was quite busy early on in the morning, but that may have been due to the road works in the main village street causing locals to divert.

Bar and Supper there. For Supper we had Kids menu comfort food!, The Bar menu was too much like restaurant food. after discussion with very nice staff lady she came back with Kids menu. 2 other hotel guests came by whilst we were eating and commented on our food choice and asked how we had got our fish and chips and a burger !!! After driving some of us do not always want a formal dinner in restaurant.

All very good.Breakfast good slow service

Great staff. Lovely breakfast with good choice. Great care taken to offer comfort but preserve the character of the building and rooms. Room was large and comfortable. Location excellent. Plenty of parking outside hotel and at hotel next door.

Dinner was good but very small portions. Would be good if they warned people of the steep stairs with sharp turn to room - and having to battle with heavy fire door at bottom of stairs. We were ok with it but some may struggle. Tea and coffee in room were not fully replenished every day so by day 3 couldn't make a drink in the room
