The gentleman was very prompt in checking us in even though he was busy at the Bar. All the information required was displayed on the room wall ..the TV was working and in good order along with the responsive remote.. the location is fairly good and walking distance (12 minutes) from the Railway museum. He was kind enough to also hold our luggage for us while we spent some extra time in the City.

We booked a family room for 3 for 1 night.. the room felt crammed even with 2 small (cabin) suitcases.. though the bunk bed did give it an interesting twist.. also, fresh water was missing from the room, though the owner did promptly give us a large glass of water.. if you're travelling light maybe it will be comfortable, but cross country tourists had better request a bigger room.

Where do I start?! As soon as we walked in we were greeted like locals! The staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome! We arrived shortly before the weekly quiz and encouraged to join in, which we did! What a laugh! The second night we were invited to play with their local darts team, after popping in for a couple after a day out in York. The Leeman Rose is exactly what you need for a couple of nights away! We were both ready for a breakaway from work and they went above and beyond! We will most definitely be back! Thank you for making our stay top notch!!

The place has everything, pub, darts, pool AND a onsite cafe for incredible stone baked pizzas, amazing baguettes or a full English!

Small but well equipped room, ideal for 1-2 people. They had instant coffee, tea bags and a kettle ready in the room. Check-in was quick and simple, they only took the booking fee from my bank acount upon arrival. Staff was welcoming. When I was leaving I asked for a couple of hashbrowns to take out. Eventhough these were not separate items on their breakfast menu, a lovely lady quickly prepared me some free of charge.

Location is easily accessible by foot from the station however buses do not come around often. On a longer stay, it may be inconvenient to walk 20 mins to the city centre and not be able to pop back in for your belongings during sightseeing.

Staff were amazing from start to finish, welcoming us as if we were already part of the fixtures and furnishings. A few little issues. Which were quickly sorted.

It wasn’t made clear in any of the blurb that it is above and part of a fully working Pub. Not an issue for us at all. As we were looking for somewhere clean and local to York. And it did tick all the right boxes .

Great value of money, good night sleep. Great location and free off road parking as a bonus.

Upstairs bed was unfortunately full of dust I need to clean before I put my daughter to sleep. Bunk bed need a lick of paint it would look way better. Besides that, great night of sleep even if the accommodation is located above the pub.

Friendly staff. Great location. Good directions. Good tea and coffee. I would certainly return if a few niggles could be sorted.

Room.not ready until an hour after check in time and then not totally clean. Had been done in a rush. No top sheet and quilt cover 'bobbly'. Not comfortable. Would have been fine with a top sheet. Also a bit public. Maybe some opaque curtains for windows as they looked into private bedrooms opposite qnd vice versa.

Location, great room for the price, towels and linen clean, facilities provided great: kettle, cups, coffee, tea, sugar and milk. Free parking on the adjacent streets. Good prices at pub downstairs. Wasn't too noisy and staff were polite.

EVRTHING SEEMED SUPERB AND PERFECT. NO GRIPES WHATSOEVER. FANTASTIC VERY VERY VERY COMFORTable beds. and great clean accomodation only a 20 minute walk into york.

A great, traditional and really friendly pub. Fantastic atmosphere, decent beer and perfect location for the railway museum. The room was perfect for me and my two boys and was exactly as I expected. Will definitely book again on my next trip to York.

Everything was good, just as expected.

Everything felt very comfortable the TV had everything you needed or wanted to watch what you wanted, you had your own bathroom with shower toilit and sink with a mirror. The bar downstairs in the pub was very nice and the local people was very friendly. The food was also amazing, had breakfast and the pizza and it was incredible

There was nothing that me and my partner didn't like with staying there
