I love both location and history of the hotel. Each floor has a unique look in terms of how Wyndham decided to feature different aspects of Uruguayan culture. In this sense, Montevideo is specially highlighted in all its glory. Having breakfast in the hotel terrace, with a wonderful view of the city that includes its coastal region as well as an architectural feat like Palacio Salvo, is a big selling point for tourists searching for an authentic experience. Big kudos to the staff, always smiling, efficient, and willing to find quick solutions to our requests.

I found the gym a bit disappointing. It is a small, packed room with no dumbbells nor flat bench. To make matters worse, the cable machine was broken and the dip machine was quite unstable. Please rethink this important part of a hotel of such category! It was also no fun to know that both pool and sauna were not available to the public until later in the month! Finally, we quickly realized the bathtub would not drain properly after taking a shower, a situation that was addressed on the third day of our stay in the hotel.

We loved the hotel...it was very good, it is a building with an interesting history in whose theater Carlos Gardel came to give shows and stay. It is very well maintained and located, a few blocks from the old city and the main attractions of downtown Montevideo. We liked that they loaned us the bikes to ride around town at no charge and the indoor heated pool was a great place to kick back and relax. We read that many of the hotel's poor ratings were on breakfast but to our surprise we found it to be quite good and even some of these ratings were not fair. Our stay would have been perfect if not for the additional charge of almost 20 dollars! that they made my card because supposedly they had found stained towels in the room; This detail surprised us and we did not like it because we left the room and its elements in very good condition. It's a shame this happened.

A refurbished 'classical' property which retains the history - original very high ceilings, balcony, non-conformist room layout (very large but not a box), a bath. Welcoming and stimulating ground floor sitting areas with art.

Well used towels. Some maintenance needed after a good season ? No food it seems, and none nearby,

Pool was great, heated : location was very convenient, close to everything. Staff very helpful and friendly

Should be able to leave your wet pool towels in a laundry bin by the pool. We had to return our wet towels to the front desk which is kind of weird, uncomfortable

Nice size rooms, well, equipped, good bed, good bathrooms, and a very nice hotel overall. very nice people at reception. breakfast was particularly good.

The room I wax in could use a bit of touch up paint but nothing serious

Location good for seeing main sites. And pool and gym area nice. We were able to hire bikes from the hotel for no charge which was great for cycling along the seafront.

Breakfast was a little chaotic, each day there were no bowls or items missing which needed replacing.

Location is good in the old city, however not the best location to stay in Montevideo. Breakfast has only few opitions and not that good.

The hotel location is good. It is close to the places of interesting. Staff member is friendly and helpful. The room has a kittle so we can boil some hot water.

The mattress seems to be old.

Nice clean hotel with a mixed old style/modern room. The location close to the plaza is fantastic. Good breakfast, friendly staff and furthermore all well detailed.

The room was a bit noisy and the staff didn’t spoke English.
