Super 8 by Wyndham Homewood Birmingham Area

The place was clean and quiet. There were coffee, juice and muffins available for the guests. Parking spaces were abundant. The hotel met our minimum requirements. The room had refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board. The WIFI were good and simple. The price were good, comparing with all other hotels in Birmingham and Hoover area.

We stayed downstairs and the guests upstairs were walking really loud. We did not know whether the floor was too thin or the guests were intentionally walking that way. However, they were quiet down after 11 p.m. We wish the hotel have some policies or guidelines about the guests who stayed upstairs that there were potential they could make the noises and disturbed people downstairs.

We got the King suite and it had plenty of room for us and the cat while we were displaced during the hurricane. The vending machine was stocked regularly and everything was a dollar or less. Very pleased with the hotel. Definitely the best one out of the three on Vulcan Road hill.

The third floor sort of smells like cigarettes, I'm assuming there are smoking rooms but it wasn't super overpowering. My remote for the TV had some goopy substance on it but overall the hotel was clean and smelled fresh.

Breakfast was one of the things that it's not. It's just light snack more or less. Just small blueberry muffins,and coffee. They were out of apple juice.

Not much to dislike,besides snack for breakfast,over all stay quality was excellent,staff friendly,and price was fair.

Great location, convenient to downtown. Clean inside and out. Check in/ out was easy. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Room was spacious and had a “home” feel, beds were comfortable. The AC got cold quick and cooled the room quickly. Hotel appeared to have a full house, yet it was so quiet, the only time we heard anyone was when we passed in the hallway, or outside.

a few more parking spaces would be nice.

Location was great. Very roomy

The blankets are super thin and we had to ask for them for the bunk beds for the kids, When I asked for them they had to me for blankets in a big wad as if they hadn’t been washed and folded. They did not smell but if you were going to wash and dry the blankets wouldn’t you fold them for guest? We also did not receive enough washcloths and they did not have any more whenever I asked for extra. So bring washcloths.

It seems The bathroom was just redone. The beds were very comfortable.

It seems as if the hotel is still rehabbing, where the breakfast is to be were all boxes. It would have been nice to have a couple of choices instead of just muffins.

Didn't have time for breakfast as we had to be at the hospital by 6:30.

It was awkward trying to check in as they had a solid piece of glass between us and the office person. So it was hard to hear and be heard. He was very courteous though.

Exceptional value, no extra pet fee, location was perfect, room was very comfortable.

Overnight, a few guest left their trash in the parking lot and elevator. There are trash cans available. I wonder if they would do the same at their house?

Our room was clean and smelling good. I was worried because I've had bad experiences at other Super 8s in the past but not here. Receptionist both times checking in we're very kind and helpful.

Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Good location. Air conditioning worked perfectly.

I understand Covid protocol but we didn't have a new roll of toilet paper, and by next morning we had to ask the front desk for more. They were nice about it, but if your not cleaning the rooms everyday they should be at least stocked.
