We asked for a quiet room away from where the train comes in and received it. Clean and large. Close to everything. Excellent restaurant on site. Just minutes down the road is Bearizona. Saw over 30 bears and other animals. They feed them sweet potatoes and squash in the afternoon around 1:30. Fantastic time seeing them close by on the sides of the Safari roads. Walking part was great to. Trip of a lifetime. Great restaurants in town. Easy few minutes walk to get to the train to the Grand Canyon. Great entertainment on the train, from country & rock singers to western entertainment. Including a train robbery on the way back with cowboys on horses stopping the train. We saw a large group of wild horses running near the side of the train, 100's of large Elk, and other wild animals. Spent 3 hours at the Grand Canyon. We walked the Rim trail and saw a group of wild deer. Many people had lunch at the G.C. We took out a excellent box lunch from a nearby restaurant that had a big bakery to enjoy on the train ride. Gave us extra time at the G.C. Fantastic 3 days. Don't miss walking around the main street to all the shops and restaurants. Best place to stay in town.

Everything was great.

very clean and comfy. staff was very friendly, Williams is a terrific town and central to a lot of things we wanted to see and walking distance to Main Street and Route 66 with great shops snd restaurants. Fred Harvey’s breakfasts were we terrific and a great value and the train was such a cool addition to our trip…..even with two teenage boys!

only two complaints were the pillows were awful and the dinner at Spencer’s in the hotel was just ok although the staff and the atmosphere were wonderful.

Everything we needed for the weekend was available on site. We stayed here for the convenience of hopping on the train to the Grand Canyon for the day. There’s also a buffet restaurant and gift shops on site. We literally parked the car on Friday and didn’t get back in it until checkout on Sunday.

The rooms/hallways had a bit of a musty/damp odor. The beds were a little lumpy and sparse blankets/pillows. Toilets had to be flushed multiple times just for toilet paper to go down.

The rooms were comfortable and the kids had a great time looking at the trains outdoors. We also liked the wild west show and found the staff to be responsive and friendly. This town was quaint and charming as it highlighted Route 66! There are many family friendly activities and food options.

It would be great if Booking allowed you to bundle meal vouchers and add on attractions like train tickets. We had to book those separately. Notifications sent to me about our trip had broken links.

The steam train to the Grand Canyon ❤️

NO COFFEE IN LOBBY IN AM. poor planning by hotel staff to run out of coffee on Memorial Day weekend!! could have sent someone to local store instead of disappointing your Guests. having the front desk staff joking about it made it more irritating indicating laundry is available for guest use and NOT stating you will need to drive to the RV park is deceptive and that is unacceptable

The property was very clean, easy to navigate, and a short walk distance to the town

We didn’t have the best experience at Spencers Pub. Although the food and drinks were good, the price was pretty high and our server never once came to check on us or take our order. We had a table and got tired of waiting for a waitress to take our orders so we had to walk up to the bartender to order our food and drinks.

Everything was clean and it was so close to the train. This made the morning of our departure was easy and stress free. The grounds were well maintained and comfortable as we waited for our trip to start.

N/A . we enjoyed our stay very much. We only have positive things to say! All of the staff were helpful, and the sack lunch was a good deal. It was good food in a cute bag. The train ride was so much fun

The Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is the premiere and historical hotel property in the town of Williams AZ. Originally the Fray Marcos Hotel and Williams Railway Depot, built in 1908, the newer Grand Canyon Railway Hotel still maintained the design and ambiance of the original hotel and railway created after President Teddy Roosevelt declared the Grand Canyon as one of America's first national parks. I recommend anyone considering a trip to the Grand Canyon to stay here a day before to relax and a day after to decompress. Especially if you decide to take the train there and back. Which I highly recommend! If possible, and budget allows book the First Class Parlor car on the Chief to give you that Wild Wild West decadent experience, complete with snacks, train robbery by Williams very own Cataract Lake gang that are more than happy to lighten your load of extra currency you voluntarily decide to allow them to liberate from you. It helps feed the horses they use to board and make their getaway with. The well kept gym, hot tub and pool is a nice way to relax with. The restaurant next door that offers a daily buffet for breakfast and dinner is a little light of choice, which Covid-19, lower tourist numbers and staffing are cause of. Hopefully that will be remedied over time. The Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is literally walking distance just across the tracks for all of your eatery, shopping and Route 66 experiences.

The restaurant buffet lacked choice. Unfortunately work and the fact I was struck ill and could not fully enjoy the property during my stay. Which is absolutely NO reflection upon the property.

This is the best property in Williams. We loved that it was right next to the train and downtown. If it was warmer, we could have walked downtown. Our room was well insulated so it stayed warm and we could hardly hear our neighbors even when the hotel was full.

The parking is challenging when the hotel is full. The indoor pool was under construction which was a disappointment to my daughter.
