This hotel is very nice and is in a convenient location near the Amtrak station and the convention center. The $10 dollar breakfast (available to people staying at the hotel), at the restaurant connected to the hotel, is delicious. If I visit Bakersfield again, I will definitely stay there again.

I did have some trouble communicating with the hotel before the hotel. I made a mistake with booking my room and called the hotel to see if could change it. The person I talked to told me couldn't, but didn't offer any advice or suggestions. I think the phone call could have been handled differently by the hotel staff.

The room was well outfitted with quality toiletries in the shower, a microwave and large mini refrigerator, as well as a k-cup coffeemaker. The beds were very comfortable. The bath also had both a safety mat and grab bar. The main lobby has a plush seating area, a coffee bar, and there is a decent sized outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is literally across the street from the Amtrak station, so very convenient if one is traveling by train. Desk service was efficient, and the clerk asked if I wanted extra coffee pods and I would like a paper receipt, both of which were appreciated.

Potential guests should be aware that the hotel looks nothing like the photo, and is actually a set of mid-century standalone chain hotel buildings, which are quite worn. There are no lifts in any of the buildings, so those with mobility issues or heavy bags should verify a downstairs room at checkin. There is no hill to be found anywhere within miles of its location; this is Bakersfield, after all. Breakfast is not included with the room, and while there is a restaurant attached to the hotel, there are no other restaurants, or any stores, anywhere nearby.

Breakfast was a real treat for just $10 -- though not entirely without issues. Front desk a lovely lady and we felt very supported by staff. We stayed in the handicapped room for the space and found it very comfy and convenient to our car. This place has an historic building and is located near the Art Museum and Library.

We did not see any nearby restaurant so we did Uber Eats. Aside from the cost, that worked well for us. I do object to these pet fees.

Comfy room, clean. Good price for one night.

The area was a little questionable. Noisy. Water (canal?) running through smelled bad in the morning. The staff at check-in made the "balcony" to my room sound impressive, but it only looked out over the parking lot so it wasn't. Ice machine inside, downstairs. My key opened the door to the hallway once but the next morning it did not.

The best past is the location. So closed to good food, bars, museums, and vintage stores. Also, the rooms feels very separate from the world—close the slats in the windows and the room stays dark in the morning… slept later and better than I would have expected.

The second building does not have an elevator—if you have mobility issues ask about your room to make sure you don’t have to deal with stairs you might not be expecting.

There was a mix up with our registry and they sorted it out right away and got us into the room I had reserved with no problems.

The ice machine was down in our building so I had to walk over the aqueduct to the next building to get ice, but the walk was so tranquil I forgot it was a hassle and enjoyed the evening.

Good location, very close to downtown. They close the gates at 9pm so I felt very secure overnight.

I did hear sirens and a helicopter for a few hours around 12-3am, but it’s downtown Bakersfield so it’s kind of to be expected.

The beds are so comfortable I had to ask the brand of the mattress and pillows, I didn’t want to leave 😊. It’s so easy to get any kind of help you need, u forgot something? Just call the front desk. The room had everything you can need.

Google maps took us to the back of the property, which the email confirmation also showed a picture of, a quick call and got help right away.

Not fancy but well maintained and comfortable. Terrific location along canal with a nice walkway, right across from Amtrak station and county library, walking distance to art museum, sports/performance center, and a very walkable downtown area.
