Padre Hotel

I arrived on my motorcycle and the valets were Johnny-on-the-Spot, making a protected spot for me in the hotel's lot to park the bike. This is the second time I've stayed in the hotel, about a decade apart, and I still believe it's "the place" to stay when coming through Bakersfield. The rooms, while tiny, are extremely comfortable, with a slightly naughty peek-a-boo shower that reminds me someday I need to visit the hotel with a special friend in tow.

I am sad to report that the hotel restaurant, that I remember actually being pretty good, is no longer open or at least was not open while I was there. This surprised me somewhat, since I had planned on eating there to keep my evening simple and relaxing after a long ride on the bike. The bar and breakfast/coffee shop were still open, but I did not use them.

The room was super. The flap jack breakfast took longer than expected (had to make new batter) but was totally worth the wait!

The web site had some confusing language on it with regard to "early check-in". First it said check-in time was 3pm and my planned check-in time (1:30pm) was too early. OK, so far so good. But then the web site required me to "choose a time after 2pm". Huh...so it the cutoff time for early check-in (which carries an extra fee) really 3pm or is it 2pm. I chose 2:15pm, thinking there would not be an early check-in fee. There was. That got resolved, so "no harm, no foul", but the language on the online check-in form could be made a bit clearer. Otherwise, excellent stay!

I loved the Art Deco architecture of the building inside and out. The hotel has a great lounge/restaurant and coffee house. The rooms are spacious and remodeled well.

I would have liked a parking facility that was watched 24/7. I was worried about my rented minivan in a parking structure with security only until sometime in the evening. The satellite wasn’t working so there were only a few tv stations I could watch.

The location of the Padre Hotel was a selling point for our trip to see Zach Bryan at the Mechanics Bank Arena. We were able to walk to the concert from the hotel and felt very safe walking back home at night after the concert. The hotel staff was extremely helpful when we lost our room key and were able to help us with a smile on their face.

It was our 1st trip since covid, just me and my 12yr old. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly. I got lost trying to find an ice machine and an ex employee helped me! Testament to the good people you have and the business you run. Even after they leave from working there, they still provide excellent service. We met an employee in the elevator, he seemed to be everywhere and always with a huge smile and friendly attitude. They changed the bedding at our request the next am due to a bloody nose. They were fast and courteous. Every single encounter with the staff from checkin to checkout and the calls and visits in between was top notch! The girl with the purple hair, just so sweet and incredible customer service. If I had a hotel, id have her front and center! Every member of the valet team was so helpful and friendly. We always felt safe and protected. Room service was quick, clean, so beautiful and tasty! THE BED, omg, I have never slept on a more comfy bed! The highlight of our stay!!!

Clean comfortable room. Valet parking was awesome to utilize. Having a bar and resturaunt on premises was very convenient and these establishments are above what I expected for a hotel.

I enjoyed my quick stay. No complaints ...Some things stood out but given that it was the weekend and there was a concert near by , I understood the reason for the crowds and just a little longer wait time at resturaunt I did reserve a head of time and glad I did. these small issues are not going to detere me from booking in the future though. Food at belvadere and their basil martini was soooo perfect worth any wait time.

Great place to stay, clean, comfortable and with stylish public areas. There was an issue on check-in where the hotel had not become aware of the date change we had done previously on booking.com but the staff at front desk were very helpful in resolving it. Breakfast in the cafe was also good. Would stay again.

Check in was a breeze. Valet parking was nice and very timely. My room was a little small it faced north and the view of the roofs of adjacent buildings was not so great.

You cannot really improve the view (above comment), so I have no real complaints/suggestions.

Art Deco architecture, onsite resturant and coffeehouse. Excellent customer service from every staff that we encountered.

Super small room, sink did not drain, shower and bathroom lacked privacy due to floor to ceiling window in the shower! Not a fan of that floor plan. Hotel is next to Police Department and the sirens were active throughout the night!

large and historic hotel in the city of Bakersfield with good style and lively restaurant (good food, good service) and lobby. modern, large room with comfortable and large beds. nice deco even valet parking is fair priced and works very well

staff helped with luggage but left it in the lobby and nobody seems to care for it anymore - we brought it self to the room....
