Hillcrest Suites & Cabins

The location was perfect - very short drive to the village center, and close to Boulder Bay in the other direction. Room 7 was great for us as there was plenty of floor space for our blind golden retriever to find his way around. Everything was very clean and updated, and had all of the amenities we needed. Comfortable bedroom and bathroom, and loved the double recliner in front of the fireplace and flat screen TV in the living room. We would certainly stay there again.

Queen mattress could use an update, but I understand that has already been planned.

Mike and Katie are the new owners and managers and were very nice! There are separate units and connected units available. We stayed in a connected downstairs unit, ours was #7. There is a small kitchen and fridge (no oven), a dining table, couch, fireplace, separate bedroom and one bathroom. All clean and cozy. Firewood available for $6.00/box and DVD’s available on the honor system. Big Bear Mountain Brewery is across the street so yummy hot food and beverage is close by. Alpine Slide is also walking distance where your snow tube or ride the coaster or so down the bobsled. Big Bear Village is just a couple minutes drive away. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

If you stay in a downstairs unit you can hear noise from the top unit. Also, people weren’t parking in their correct spaces. Towels were a little on the thin side. Other than that all was good.

Everything!!! My husband and I will for sure be returning!! Katy was so excellent. She recommended all these wonderful places to go! Thank you, Katy, for being so friendly to us ❤️

Amazing gem we found. Comfy, felt like home. Katy and Mike very friendly and hard workers. The themed rooms are designed well. We stood in suite 11... Bears Abound room Loved it! Will definitely recommend it friends and family. We'll come back again for sure.

Nothing to complain about

Staff is awesome. Love that there is a karaoke bar across the street and you can listen to music while relaxing on their handmade rocking chair and swing chair next to the office. This area also has an awesome game area where we spent hours playing cornhole, table tennis, and foosball. I love that they allow dogs and that everything is within walking distance. The kids enjoyed watching DVDs that you can borrow from the office.

Not much room for a family of 4. Car noise from the main street behind takes away a bit from the relaxation.

I liked the location, staff was friendly. Easy to park. The value was good.

I found used Claritin wrappers in bedroom drawer. Very dusty bed frame railing and along Walls of the floor. We were on bottom floor and the people above us would not let us sleep, they were so noisy and inconsiderate. Small shower had to duck to wash head and I’m not very tall.

It's clean and comfortable. The staff provided good advice. The kitchen was almost fully equiped.

In some instances this felt more like a pricey Airbnb than a hotel. For example, there are no cleaning services during your stay.

We stayed in a stand-alone studio cabin with it's own mini-kitchen and fireplace. It was adorable and cozy and very private - perfect for current pandemic conditions. Firewood was available for purchase, which was perfect for making a lovely winter atmosphere in our suite. The staff was very friendly and certainly made us want to stay here again!

The suite was not ready for us when we tried to check in, but we didn't have to wait long.

Kind staff, cooperative, helpful when you need them. Location is great and near by restaurants, shopping centers, playgrounds. Excellent value for the money. And finally, family friendly lodge.

It’s only an advice, the mattress needs to be changed because it’s not comfortable. Maybe it was only my mattress in my room.

The location was great. Walking distance to sledding, market, bakery, food, brewery, Big Bear Blvd, and tubing.

The parking was a little tight. The listing says it has an EV charging station it actually has a 50 amp Nema 14-50 plug available, but not an actual charging station. Otherwise, the staff was super friendly and helpful in finding a workaround.
