Hidden Valley Inn

Check in was super easy, just a phone call ahead and a key was left with instructions due to my late check in time. Room was super cute, clean, great AC (important because it was very hot). Staff was AMAZING, very helpful and very nice!! Would definitely stay here again.

Room had no table/surface to work on, so when I needed to use my laptop for work, I had to do it in bed. A small table to use as work surface would have been great. Even a small folding table would have worked.

The room was well presented and comfortable, with access to a patio area, pool and wider shared social space. There was a welcoming, relaxed and friendly vibe at the accommodation, led by the staff on front desk who were fantastic - they were particularly helpful with how we could get the best out of our trip. The pastries and coffee at reception were a lovely touch, greatly appreciated by us! The accommodation is also a good base to explore Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel-by-sea AND the nearby town (nearby actually gave us the best meal of our trip!)

There was nothing we didn't like, but travellers should note it's c. 20 - 25mins to Carmel / Monterey. The drive is easy enough though.

Quiet Inn, friendly staff. Less than 15 minutes walk to restaurants and wine tasting venues. The pool looked nice but it was too early in the year to test. There was cornhole to play in the public area. Breakfast was limited but a good pastry, a coffee, and a morning chat with the receptionist was a nice way to start the day. Reception also provides kettles to boil water for a proper cup of tea! Carmel Valley centre has good dining - we liked Rustica and Trailhead cafes most. We also really liked Cowgirl Winery for wine tasting. Garland Ranch Park is nearby and has a really good range of hikes. The Sky Trail is a good route.

A small sofa or a snuggler chair in the room would have made it even more comfortable as only one hard chair was provided.

The room and bed were really spacious. The bathroom needed a bit of TLC but overall it didn’t not affect our stay. The patio with view was lovely to have breakfast on. There were 20+ wine tasting rooms you could walk to from the hotel which were outstanding! Only about a 20 min drive to Carmel by the Sea.

The pool was unfortunately not heated as mentioned in the description which meant we could not use it.

We didn't have the chance to try the tv screen or Wi-Fi (I don't even know if it's available), but everything was great!

The parking spaces could have a limiter so I wouldn't scratch my car's bumper on the end of it, where a short wall is tall enough for that to happen. And I could've been more cautious when approaching it, of course. However, after 5 hours on the road you just want to rest on the bed.

Beautiful spot and spotlessly clean rooms. The breakfast pastries were a welcome bonus. The staff are super helpful and nice with information about places to eat and visit in the valley and beyond’s. It’s also good value for money.

There could be a refrigerator in the room, but the staff were happy to put things in the refrigerator in the office.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Property has been recently renovated and was told that they are still making more improvements. Super clean. Pastries and coffee for breakfast were delicious. Restaurants within a mile from the hotel, we had dinner at the Trailside Cafe and had life music. Will visit again in the Spring.

I don't have any complaints.

The location was great - only about 5-10min walk to all the wine tasting experiences and restaurants. The staff was incredibly friendly and approachable - they gave us recommendations on where to eat and went above and beyond to assist us in general. The pool is incredible on a hot day and the pastries were a lovely touch in the morning. I would definitely come back!

We liked the swimming pool. It is heated up to a very comfortable temperature. The facilities are very clean and well taken care of. The rooms have hard floors, not carpets, and this is a big advantage for me. A lot of extra clean towels provided. The view from patios/balconies is great. The morning complementary pasties at the office were really good.

We really missed a microwave oven and refrigerator (you can find refrigerators only in some of the rooms, and no microwaves at all in standart rooms). And one more thing really bothered me during the stay. The front door can be locked by slamming/closing it. I was trying to remember having the key in my pocket all the time because I was really scared to leave the kids inside with the key, or with the cell phone, of even both keys (car's and room's). It can be a big problem after the office's working hours
