Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa Newport Beach

Needed to order breakfast at hotel restaurant, which was lovely. All day you can choose to sit outside in a charming, large courtyard with striped umbrellas and a large fountain or in a beautiful dining room. Service was excellent, menu was large and varied, and food was delicious. The hotel shuttle can take you anywhere within 3 miles. Room was large, clean and ac was effective and quiet. Lovely bar and reception rooms. Only issue was we couldn’t get cold water in our bathroom most of the time! We kept thinking it would change and so never communicated that to management. They were doing some construction in the room next door(never a bother) so that might have been part of the problem. Hot water was plentiful in the shower! We would definitely stay again as it was close to the airport and the performing arts center.

very comfortable bed. nice clean room with plenty of room. the staff were nice, and helpful. the restaurant on site had good food for dinner. good free wifi. nice and close to both the airport and UCI.

the parking should be included in the price. there is plenty of space, but they use the fact that they have the airport next door for why they have you register and pay extra. I think it would be easy to incorporate that into who is staying to counteract the airport reasoning. We enjoy hearing the airplanes taking off and landing, but if you do not, then ask for a room that is not as near to the airport side.

The scenery is magnificent. There are model ships on display, a beautiful fireplace in the entrance of the hotel, an open courtyard in the middle of the hotel, a pool, spa and cabanas in another middle section of the hotel, a fireplace designed heater with holographic image of a crackling fire, exceptionally comfortable pillows with medium thickness. The only downside was that my boyfriend and I both woke up with extreme lower back pain because the bed sunk-in in the middle. I still give it top ratings for everything else.

The bed could have been better quality. Sunk-in in the middle causing extreme lower back pain for my boyfriend and myself.

The WiFi was free

The Suite room exhibited a noticeable musty odor, suggesting a lack of adequate ventilation, as the windows were inoperable. This issue likely contributed to the overall stale air quality in the room. Additionally, the restroom’s ventilation system was excessively loud, disrupting sleep quality. Noise from the system in adjacent and upper-level rooms was particularly intrusive, leading to several disturbances throughout the night. Furthermore, the WiFi connectivity was substandard, significantly hindering the ability to work effectively. The network’s reliability and speed were unsatisfactory, posing a challenge for completing online tasks

The room was clean and comfortable , when we first arrived and wasn’t greeted on a friendly matter, one of your employees decided to put us on the top floor way to the back of the hotel in a room for smoking apparently. Well if the hotel was fully booked ok .. but it was not ! I called the front desk the girl that answered my call was nice enough to exchange our room out and put us up front. She also brought the key up so it would be easier for me to make it seeing that I am handicap. She apologized for the guy that did put us in that room that smelled of smoke after I requested a non-smoking room as well.

Read up ! ^^^ ps . The next morning I came down for coffee. I asked the girl at the front counter. If there was any coffee, she said no they only put it out at 5:30. She didn’t elaborate at all that there was a restaurant right there behind me. She just let me return to my room. . I just happen to see another guest coming out of the restaurant with a to go cup of coffee. She could’ve told me but no.

This place has a really friendly vibe. The staff were sincerely friendly, and visible, any time you needed to ask a question, they were happy to answer, focused on us, and the place was immaculate in the common areas and in the room. The hotel is in a residential area of Costa Mesa next to the business area. So it has fast food, and gas stations nearby and anything a family might need close by. It is not 5 star luxury, oozing with luxury features, but it is up to date, and very well maintained. We went to be close to a clinic where a family member had surgery. It was a perfect quiet get away.

The AC is per individual room and quite noisy when it kicks on. However we arrived in a July heat wave and the room was cool and pleasant to sleep in, so the AC noise is worth it.

This is an unexpectedly high class hotel at a reasonable price. All of the common areas are quite nice. It is the sort of place that makes one want to dress a little better. Parking was always available during our two-night stay, although sometimes a bit of a walk. The room itself was rather elegant with dark woods throughout. This is epitome of an old, but up-to-date hotel.

Oddly, I was not able to find the guest laundry, which is evidently in the annex building. It wasn't worth bothering staff, but it wasn't where the directions pointed me.

The rooms at this price point are excellent. Surprisingly well appointed, warm colors, nice sized bathroom, the furniture is quite comfortable and various options in the small suite. Very convenient to the airport. Very nice lounge to relax next to a fire and wait on friends/family.

The location can be a little challenging since you exit the property onto a one way street. But it's not too bad.

It was in a great location. It had a very serene atmosphere and a great cafe with delicious food. I rented an electric car and they had free chargers. It was close to good eating spots, gas station, coffee shop and 7-11 - all in walking distance. Close drive to beaches and nature preserves.

Some night the parking lots were very full and I had to park pretty far. The chargers for electric vehicles weren’t all working.

Very nice and clean facility.

Sucks that the Pool closes at 10pm. Security guard was always targeting us when we were at the pool and he was not friendly. Bought a drink a the bar and he called one of us out for having it at the pool. We had coolers and they said they did not allow coolers. The nice patio also closes at the 10pm, I feel like since we are guests it should be available later than that you time.
