Residence Inn Costa Mesa Newport Beach

Perfect for my family (2 adults and 4 children). The full kitchen is absolutely everything! Everyone that works here has the best customer service, even the security guard was really nice. The ping pong tables and patio area were cute. There is also a basketball court, a pool, a jacuzzi, and a gym. This place has everything you need for a fair price.

We enjoyed our two night stay. I wished we would have stayed here longer since the penthouse had a full kitchen and living space. We BBQed the first night were stayed and were able to cook our other meals so it was great. We were impressed with the breakfast choice options. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to welcome us and make accomdations such as early/late check-in/out .

The grill was out of gas, which they knew when we reported it and promptly brought us some. The fire pit was great but one was out of gas as well and they did not have another tank to replace it. Large property and they only had one luggage rack which porters/staff used for their own cart so we couldn't use it at check out.

The room had a king sized bed and fold out sofa. There was a desk and a table but they wouldn’t fit our family of four for meals so we didn’t use the kitchenette. There was a large grass space for pet relief. Every room has a separate entrance and you can park close to your room. An outdoor picnic area seemed really nice too.

The breakfast wasn’t great so we didn’t take advantage. It seems like some people live there long term and are pretty comfortable talking on the phone outside while wandering around. My husband tried the pool, it was pretty small, making it crowded, and the water is cloudy. He didn’t stay. All said we would stay there again if the need were to arise.

room needs updating. carpet along kitchen tile is coming up. the cold water in the bedroom didn’t work, hot only. sofa is uncomfortable.

I loved how spacious the penthouse suite was. I have 4 children and they loved having their own bedroom upstairs. The fact that there were two full bathrooms and a full kitchen was a HUGE plus as well! We will be staying there again!

I didn’t like how dusty our suite was. I’m not sure if it hadn’t been rented in a while or if they just don’t dust often. It was only inconvenient because my significant other has allergies and he kept sneezing. Another issue I encountered was someone else’s long gray hair on a few of the towels. I’ve had this issue at other hotels (finding hair in the showers/bathrooms), so I just assume maybe it’s impossible to clean up 100% of the hair that people leave behind. I’ll most likely just bring my own towels for my next stay.

I felt really good from the moment I arrived at the reception. The breakfast was great, the king bed was very comfortable. the kitchen had everything we needed. the big problem was the sofa bed mattress, it was very old and had holes in it. To our surprise also the pet rate was higher than we expected. But it sure was a great place to be for a few days.

I did like the hotel but it exceeded my expectations because of the staff. There was an African American woman by the name of Carmellia and she was absolutely wonderful. She went beyond her job expectations and was super friendly. It was my birthday weekend and she made it special. The price of the room was a little pricey, but the service I received was worth it.

Good size room for a family. Great having a little kitchen. The sports court, swimming pool, jacuzzi were great. A nice place to stay for a family. Breakfast was good. Lots of options.

Disposable plates and cutlery used for breakfast created so much waste.

They didn't reset the alarm clock in my room after daylight savings. I tried to change it but couldn't. I finally turned it off because it kept throwing me off. No big deal just frustrating a bit.

The staff are amazing!! They were cheerful, nice, and very accommodating!! Every need we had they provided with a smile and conversation. We felt at home with friends. The full kitchen while making Thanksgiving dinner was a game changer. The upgrade to Penthouse when the rest of my family arrived was a gift we were excited to receive. Each room was fantastic but the Penthouse was amazing. We are so thankful we stayed at The Residence Inn. The outside amenities are fabulous. We had movie night and s’mores by the fire outside via our IPad. The heated pool made swimming in November fun. Relaxing in the hot tub was a treat. WE WILL BE BACK!!

The hot tub hours are limited during COVID; however, every time we asked if we could go in just after closing we were permitted. We were waiting for other guests to leave and families left at closing.
