Best Western Plus Newport Mesa Inn

The staff at your hotel were very nice. Very respectful. The Front Desk Lobby associate was nice. I explained to him that my daughter was attending her orientation for college at UCI. I booked a room for the night but wasn’t able to check in til 3pm. I didn’t have anywhere else’s to go after they told us parents we couldn’t be with our kids at the university and I didn’t have anywhere else to go being new to the area, I arrived around 1030am and asked the front desk associate if I could stay in the lobby til check in time. He was very nice and allowed me to stay and suggested a place of privacy on the 2nd floor. While I was waiting, he approached me 2 hours later stating he can get me into a room that was recently cleaned. I checked in at 1230pm. I will be returning to your hotel at the end of august when my daughter goes to college.

The hotel is a step up from others nearby with inside corridors, free covered parking, a decent pool and hot tub and free breakfast. The rooms are large, the AC worked well even though the temperature controller had burned out LEDs so it didn't show the actual temperature setting. Wifi was free and worked well. The new Lavazza coffee machines are a great addition to the breakfast serving cappuccino and lattes.

We miss the eggs with feta for breakfast. It's one of the reasons we stay at this hotel, and my family knows the hotel as "Feta Eggs." The hotel is now serving Chorizo Eggs for breakfast, and it's not the same. The hotel seems a little down trodden and/or understaffed. We had to ask for towels for the pool. We had no shampoo in our room upon check-in. The Lavazza coffee machine broke in the breakfast room on our second day, and the one in the lobby didn't work at all. If some of these minor issues were fixed, it could be a really great hotel. As is, it's just good.

I loved that you had all the things you needed. As a big family it was great to have breakfast included in the mornings and then hot the beaches or places to go during the day. Hotel had a laundry room and it was very helpful coming from the beach with wet towels and swimsuits to have them washed and dried! Loved the underground parking for convenience that has an elevator taking you up to the room.

The breakfast room could you a little more cleanliness on the furniture. Food was good and it was great to have that in the mornings :)

First morning on 10/13/2022 we got there for breakfast at 6:30am breakfast was excellent food was delicious, the two Gentleman were courteous and professional, awesome experience, we were told breakfast was there till 9:30am! Awesome guy when we checked in, very kind! Love the snack set up by the lobby. love the welcome snacks inside the room!

The second morning on 10/14/2022 we arrived for breakfast at 8:50am when we got there the lady taking customers told us that they were closing in 5 minutes I said breakfast is till 9:30am..... she kind of in ignored me, also there was hardly any food left exactly at 9: she started to clean up and take and put all the food away. I went to the bathroom and I heard a guy yelling and mistreating the girl I felt so bad for the girl, this was very unprofessional, the guy shall be discipline of how he treats personal.

The breakfast as adequate, nice room and friendly staff. Our room was large with lots of places to put our computer, snacks, and toiletries. Free Wi-Fi was a plus. It was quiet with good elevators and plenty of underground parking as well as outside parking. It was a good location, with easy access to good restaurants, shopping and Balboa Island. Easy on and off the freeway as well.

Breakfast could have included some fresh fruit aside from a very few bananas.

The room was clean as well as the bathroom! Beds were comfortable, the lobby was beautiful and I liked that they had free coffee. The free breakfast was so good and the people staffing the cafe were so friendly and professional. Actually, everyone I came in contact with at this hotel were nice, courteous, and professional! I would definitely stay here again!! I hope you can somehow convey my appreciation to the whole team!

There was nothing I didn't like!

The room was big. The tub was a good size, and the jets felt good. The bed was comfortable.

Elevator was broken. Edge of jacuzzi tub was too rough to lean back and relax, which was the point of getting that room. Staff was m.i.a. at check out. It was tricky working the jacuzzi tub. We had to be careful with the temperature of the water, because it got hot really quick. It would have been nice to let the jets stay on longer than the 30 minute timer.

Location, breakfast, spacious room

Internet was VERY slow. Didn't get texts for a whole day. The showerhead & tub faucet configuration to get the shower to work is not working well or very outdated (Room 117).

Spacious, great breakfast, and comfortable. Hotel and room was clean. great pool temp. The pool temperature is a huge selling point and one that would make me return. My kids enjoyed it for hours.

This hotel was the best of 4 hotels on our trip. The one thing that seemed a bit odd was lack of microwave. The front desk was willing to heat up our leftovers, though, so not a total failure there.

Clean rooms. Water/snacks provided. Good sized rooms. Friendly front desk staff.

Noise travelled through door from adjoining room too easily. The guest woke us up. Also, cleaning staff knocked on door at 8 am and should have waited until we officially checked out. Had to place do not disturb sign on the door.
