Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach Hawthorne

It was clean. It is an older hotel and if you look you can see the signs of the times. However, I think it better than most places. I can't say enough about how great the staff was. They were kind and really went out of the way to make sure you were comfortable and answered any questions that we had.

It had some people lurking in the parking lot. The hotel does have security but can’t be everywhere at once. We were accosted by a homeless man and had to run into the hotel to escape. Then there was a man walking around with a golf club. Apparently there used to be a homeless encampment behind the hotel and the parking lot of the hotel was the way they got around. I

Very clean, tidy, amazing décor, attention to detail in the architecture, staff very friendly (the most friendly out of all hotel staff interacted with during entire USA trip), maintenance staff (Alex) was prompt, efficient and very personable! This hotel met expectations, aside from the aspects detailed below, however, this hotel exceeded other expectations. This hotel is set up beautifully, staff in the restaurant are great and friendly, areas to sit in front of fireplace or in courtyard are great and tranquil. The laundry facilities available to guests are easy to use, with cleaning detergent available for free at reception! The room was serviced each day and promptly. Judging by the notable cliental and professionals staying at the hotel, it is clearly the hotel of choice, and I would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

The shower, the shower was less than adequate, the bathroom less than the standard the remainder of the hotel portrays. The room could do with some careful thought in terms of size of TV, a room guide with TV channels, how to use TV remote, ordering food (not just from the inhouse Mexican restaurant), having a practical approach to staying at the hotel, like the how to, where to, etc. The hotel really does need other dining options, relying on Mexican food is not adequate for a hotel of this standard. A missed opportunity for what could be one of the greatest hotels in California (if it wanted that status)!

The hotel itself was absolutely lovely and the staff were wonderful. We did have dinner in the restaurant, which was very good. It was lovely to have that fireplace burning as you walked in. We also appreciated the artwork and the beautiful decor of the room.

The only thing I would change is the noise level in the restaurant. It is a very beautiful restaurant, but having constant rock music, screaming at you as you were trying to eat a meal was very disconcerting. You should have classical music in there to fit the ambience of the restaurant. That said, the restaurant staff could not have been nicer, and the food was delicious.

It's a beautiful hotel in just the right location Shopping and restaurants close by. there is a shuttle to Manhatten Beach, very close to my son's house, so my grandkids came over and swam in the heated pool. 1

Restaurnt ony served dinner, no breakfast or lunch, and dinner was very very expensive! No housekeeping until we left 8 days later! Would have liked them to come every 2nd or 3 days to empty the trash cans, bring more coffee and fresh towels! Hopefullly that will change in the near future once people decide they will come back to work once the free handouts end from the government! wou No housekeep

Room was very spacious and very quiet - surprising considering its proximity to the interstate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant served delicious spanish influenced food and drink and was a very friendly place for a lone traveller to eat.

Very little to not like.

13 hour stopover at airport, so stayed at hotel overnight. Smelt odd when entered room, at front of building, but was big, spotless & same with bathroom. Good idea to have basin outside bathroom. Decor is more European, but nice. Staff pleasant. Didn't eat there as restaurant looked like private party, not much around outside, but we didn't starve for one night. Had breakfast in business lounge at airport. Both times arranged taxi to airport, as only have shuttle bus to the beach.

1st. night room was at front of hotel, & can see freeway from window & was noisy when bed time & no tv on, & morning, so because staying there again on way home from trip we politely asked reception if they could change our room to back of hotel, so paid more for a 2nd. story court yard/pool view, room & was much quieter. Didn't like powered milk they supplied for tea/coffee, went to shop & bought real milk ! Got caught, as had shuttle bus on website & we thought it was to airport as not that far away.

The Hotel was very clean and staff was professional. The Hotel is located close enough to the airport without seeing or hearing planes. Luxurious and classy worth every penny. I will definitely stay there when I return to California.

Not Applicable to my trips and stay at this hotel. Luxurious, clean professional and relaxing! Enough said!

While not current or brightly lit, it was spacious and comfortable.

Room card didn’t always work with parking gate. First room we were assigned to had inadequate water pressure and temperature. We were quickly reassigned, with maintenance verifying the new room did not have the same problems. Recent work on the water system was no doubt the cause of problems in the first room.

Beautiful building in a great location and lovely big room with very comfortable bed.

No security safes in rooms. Rather apathetic receptionist when we checked in. Later when I asked about the security safe she was quite rude saying there were none and we could leave our valuables in their own safe then ask for access ! Never been to a hotel of this standard where this is the case.

This property was BEAUTIFUL!! This was our first time staying here and we absolutely enjoyed everything. The gym was fantastic, we did not expect that. The restaurant on site was perfect - the food was sooooo good!! Everyone was very friendly. The junior suite we rented was just perfect and the bed was sooo comfortable! We loved the location - right off the 405 and close to food and shopping, plus it was only a 15 minute drive to Manhattan Beach Pier.

There really wasn’t anything to not like.
