The garages next to each hotel was extremely convenient. The hotel was comfortable and clean, can’t complain! The staff were super nice and friendly, probably the nicest staff at any hotel I’ve been. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet, couldn’t hear a single noise by any hotel guests nearby. The tv had a good variety of channels to choose from. The shower was awesome, great water pressure, water got hot/warm immediately just how I like it! They also give you a little map so you can easily walk to Universal, about a 10 min walk. I would recommend taking the shuttle, we didn’t and we were trying to catch our breath going up that large hill. Overall amazing stay, highly recommend if you’re planning to go to Universal!

The toilet wasn’t flushing at first but we managed to fix it right away after lifting the toilet lid and moving things around. Other than that, no issues whatsoever.

We booked this room two nights before our stay and thought the price was reasonable for booking so late, especially compared to prices at other hotels/airbnbs. The staff were really nice when we arrived and the room was clean and had everything we needed. I left some items in the closet upon checking out, and the staff were very responsive and helpful in getting them back to me!

We liked everything! We wished we stayed in the "older" side of the hotel because it was flowery and cozy looking compared to the "newer" side which was a bit monotone. We would have loved to say in the older side but still really liked our room in the newer side.

I have absolutely no complaints. I promised Xavier, one of the aides I’d leave a review cause he’s such a jokester 😂 so here it is. My wife and I came from out of state and were going to universals and exploring LA, so this location was perfect. We were given water and snacks as soon as we arrived and just felt so welcomed. The location is very safe considering there is a gate that closes at around midnight. They remembered we were going to universals and were going to be out late, so they left the gate slightly open for us to get back in. Ralph’s, Starbucks, gas, all close by. For the price we paid for 3 days, no other hotels in the area could compare and their reviews speaks for itself. Rooms were comfortable and quiet with mini fridge, microwave and your own parking space. Don’t sleep on this hotel, the guys here will take care of you!

I recently stayed at El Royale Hotel near Universal Studios, and it was an outstanding experience! The designated parking was a huge plus, making it super convenient, especially given how close the hotel is to Universal Studios. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious, providing a comfortable retreat after a long day at the park. What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the staff—they were absolutely the best, going above and beyond to ensure a great stay. I highly recommend El Royale for anyone visiting Universal Studios!

The location was great. We picked this place because of its walking proximity to Universal Studios Hollywood. It took my siblings and me less than 15 minutes to walk to the shuttle pick-up station. We saved ourselves $35-$70 for parking (depends on which parking you prefer)

One of our beds was not made when we were out. But I figured they didn't make it due to some of our stuff on the bed. Honestly, it wasn't even a big deal, we were so tired after Universal Studios we couldn't care less if our bed was made or not.

I liked how personable and friendly the owner was. This was also a great overnight location near one of the Hollywood Bowl shuttle locations. We would stay here again the next time we're in the area for a Bowl concert.

There are two buildings under the same management. We did not know that the parking lot has a gate that closes at night, so we moved to the other building that had a more open parking lot policy. This was inconvenient for us, BUT, had we taken our other (nicer) car this would have parked it overnight and taken a ride share car instead. In that situation, the gate on the parking lot would have been a real plus.

The staff are amazing and so friendly. Bonus breakfast muffins and coffee from 7am that we weren't expecting. We stayed there for Universal and it was a 15 minute walk away. Rooms are lovely and clean and they provide basic toiletries. Very quiet and free parking is a bonus.

The room had a slight smell that was more noticeable when you first enter. Kind of like a old flower smell, think it was from the AC unit. Once you're in the room a while you didnt notice as much.

Location was awesome for us (5 minute walk to our daughter's apartment), the bed was comfortable, everything was kept clean, parking was private and safe, didn't hear any street noise or other guests, and the staff was super kind and helpful and seemed genuinely interested in providing a good experience. The room (suite) that we took on the El Royale Gardens side was completely modernized with a huge bathroom and free wi-fi. Plenty of towels and clean bed as well.

The air conditioner in our room was insanely noisy - rattling, sloshing sounds that never let up. We were both up several times a night because as much as I tried to think of it as "white noise" it was very distracting. Also, we got ants in the room, but that's totally our fault for leaving open food out. The staff was very responsive with ant spray to take care of the concern.

Close, within walking distance, to Universal (walk to the shuttle stop at the bottom of hill and catch the Universal shuttle to the top). Owner let us choose which side we wanted to stay and we chose the cottage side. Place was clean and surprisingly spacious.

Check in is at 4 so don't expect an early check in, they will watch your bag so go get some lunch :-). The walk to Universal is short, but does seem a little sketchy at night. Nothing else really, just small things: sink water pressure was too strong and water would occasionally have a sulfur smell to it.

I picked El Royale because I had been here before quite awhile back actually and remembered how not only was it a GREAT hotel (clean, location, parking, updated, safe, comfortable and so on) but the gentleman who helped me last time was so so kind and personable and made my families stay feel even better. So it made me so happy and very surprised when we checked in that the same gentleman, Roberto, was there to greet us as years ago when I had visited and he also remembered me! Staying somewhere as big as LA, the odds of finding a consistent great place with genuine people and being remembered over five years apart has to be rare but that must be why this place is so amazing and I’m glad to say I will make sure I return again and refer many friends and family there. Thank you so much Roberto for your hospitality and kind spirit and also George who was very friendly and helpful as well. :)
