The location was awesome The 2 bedroom new apartment was a great size and the bathrooms were immaculate. Loved the coffee machine and coffee that was supplied. Staff were lovely and the cafe's downstairs coffee was sooo nice too. Having a pool and hot tub was a welcome bonus.

Not having a kitchen in the apartment. We had quite a few food items to use and our room change meant we didn't have a kitchen. A microwave would have been sufficient with a few bowls and cutlery. Paying for parking shouldn't be necessary if you are staying at an accomodation.

The room was beautiful. The view was amazing. The people were very friendly and helpful. I loved that we had parking for just the guest. The beds were very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this room to anyone.

Well.... I went the wrong time of year, it was pupping season for the sealions so they were very loud outside our room. Super awesome for the first couple days. They did a fire alarm test while we were there and my husband and I woke up violently one morning. Then the last thing I was disappointed about was they didn't have any options for food, we had to leave the hotel everyday to eat.

I like the area and location. Staff was very helpful when needed.

Depending on where your room is parking for us was atrocious. It’s not really managed or patrolled. We paid for parking & had very limited parking spots for our rooms & had issues almost every morning and evening with ppl double parking leaving no open spots for other guests. Took over an hour to get ppl to move or park appropriately so we could park in a spot without being hit or blocking someone else in. A few things could use an upgrade as knobs and buttons were missing from some of the appliances in our room, making them hard to use & the shower heads could also use an upgrade. My husband and I are both quite tall and the shower heads only came to our shoulders so it made washing hair a little difficult.

The Pines rooms are newer. I like the fact that it’s directly on the beach and with balconies!

Needs more lighting in the bathroom! The background light on the back of the mirror is not good enough— it’s too damn dark!! For as expensive as the rooms are, you should not charge much for parking, if at all. Again, as expensive as the rooms are, each room in the Pines suites should have a microwave —it’s very inconvenient! To work the heating in the room, the thermostat should be operative to do so—instead it’s controlled by the front desk and they sometimes don’t know how to work it themselves!

Love love love the location , friendly quick staff Great room super accommodating for last minute trip :) the top view patio w ocean views and patio to eat and relax listening to sealions n birds = priceless n great parking :) I'll go again 😀

The elevator it's slow just take the stairs even from the top floor :( the air conditioner in our room was the worse even worse then an old vegas room the worse too hot n sticky for no good air conditioner especially after the ocean swim n beach day Not enough ice machines but not a huge deal

The newer part of the hotel is gorgeous! The rooms are so clean and renovated beautifully with mood lighting, nice artwork, faux plants, and modern furniture. The new beds are so comfy! The location is incredible. You can walk downstairs in the morning and grab a coffee from Parakeet Cafe in the lobby, which features amazing lattes of all kinds like rose, lavender, matcha, mushroom, and tumeric. Then you can stroll across the street to take in the most stunning views of La Jolla’s coves, cliffs, and dramatic landscape beaches. It’s incredible! The cherry on top are all of the seals and sea lions that live in the cove. I saw so many babies!! Was adorable! If you are sensitive to sound, you may want to bring earplugs to sleep. It didn’t really bother me though.

No complaints

The property was easy to find and has easy access to parking. The hotel was right across the street from La Jolla cove which was perfect for a single mom traveling with a toddler! The staff members, especially Michael was so friendly helpful! Him and the other kind gentleman at registration were beyond accommodating to my needs. First time here and would absolutely stay again.

Wish there were more food options either at the hotel or nearby but it gave me an opportunity to explore surrounding restaurants.

We upgraded to the corner penthouse suite... For a very fair price. Manager at the front desk Matt was EXTREMELY HELPFUL & CARING. He walked us up to the penthouse prior to show us the room before even booking. I felt very cared for & it really shaped my vacation. My room was spacious, clean, stylish, full balcony with a comfy love seat chair. We listened to the seals & ocean all night long as we left the balcony door open. The temperature was so nice at night we didn't even need air conditioning (though it was available) My view was INCREDIBLE! Ocean front, walk down some stairs & you're at the beach. Couldn't have asked for a better spot. This was perfect. Not to mention I slept wonderfully.... Its hard for me to sleep at hotels, but here, I felt right at home & at peace. Bed was also very comfortable. Parking was convenient. Very low stress place to stay, not overwhelmed by having too much going on. Simple relaxing beach front property. I plan to go back next year.

I liked everything. Though, the shower drained very slowly.
