The Coventry Inn might not be the best looking hotel in SF but the bed was super comfortable and so were the pillows. Great wi-fi. The location is perfect if you have a car. There's a 100 dollar deposit but it's released right after ceck-out. Highly recommend!

I booked the Coventry Inn as needed something comfortable but not expensive. It was both. I was surprised by how big and comfy the room was, with two double beds. The location was good too. It's on several bus routes and only ~16 mins into Fisherman's Wharf by bus. The same bus going in the opposite direction will take you to Pier 39, although if you go to one you can walk to the other.

Thought an elderly gentleman at the front desk was rude after I tried to explain no clean towels had been delivered. He could have managed the situation much better, firstly by apologising. There was also a strong smell of paint when I entered the room for the first time, but with the windows left open this soon disappeared. They are re-painting so bear this in mind if you book at any time around when this review is written

Position is great: a lovely area to stroll around. Union Street is full of places to eat and shops. Always felt very safe. A few minutes from the beach and the Golden Gate. Room is huge! Finally a big room in California. There is plenty of space, and it’s all new due tk being recently renovated. Parking: free parking is a great thing to have in SF, especially if you arrive early enough to park in the underground/locked parking for extra safety. Price is a bit high, but unfortunately it’s becoming the standard in California.

First day we arrived late and find no parking inside, but we were given a spot outside. Still better than nothing! At some point the room a/c was very cold but we managed to fix it

Great location in close walking distance to restaurants and shops in Marina District and Pacific Heights. Room was comfy and large. Very little street noise from Lombard since windows face side street. Parking garage was gated and secure, and our minivan fit fine. Also the close proximity to Moscone Park was a great bonus, as it provided our young kiddos an outdoor space to run around and get wiggles out on the playground and fields. Neighborhood felt safe and staff were nice.

There was no fridge or microwave in the room - I knew this in advance from other reviews though so I didn't expect it (still would be nice). I did see a staff person in the garage unloading mini fridges and taking them up the elevator, so perhaps there will be fridges in some rooms soon? Some reviews from this summer (2023) mentioned that the hotel is undergoing renovations, and there was a note on the wall next to elevator mentioning renovations. The decor in the room was in good condition but the style seemed pretty dated so I couldn't tell if our room had been renovated or not.

Great location - walking distance to many places including a supermarket and the marina. Easy access to buses too if you don't feel like walking too much. Secured car park is great and hard to find. Room is big and quiet (we were facing the side street. Can imagine facing Lombard St will be a lot more noisy). Reliable WiFi connection. Generally a very comfortable stay. Quiet room, comfy and big bed.

A few minor things: Would be nice to have a mini fridge and a microwave in the room included. Shower water pressure is not strong enough. Slightly dated but adds to the character of the place.

I really appreciated the gated/secured parking. The room was big and clean, smelled so nice too. The beds were super comfortable. It is located right on Lombard and in a very safe and clean area of town. I felt completely safe and so happy with our accomodations. It would have been excellent to have a fridge, but that would be my ONLY want. Otherwise, I would stay there every time I visited San Francisco. The staff was lovely, helpful and the hotel was great.

Would have been super nice to have a little fridge, but that isn't even worth complaining about. We brought a cooler and filled a couple gallon plastic bags with ice. Lasted our whole trip. Nothing to complain about. Loved it here!

Parking was easy and great, right on premises and garage with security. Room was very clean but no refrigerator or microwave. Décor was boring but well cared for, straight out of the 70's. The staff was excellent. They were helpful and very polite. They new how to please a guest. I would certainly stay here again and recommend to friends. The value per dollar was very good.

A more updated interior design and refrigerator = microwave in the rom.

Room was very spacious and had a small table with two chairs, enough to have breakfast and dinner there so that was a nice bonus. Thank you for giving us two connecting rooms and putting baby crib in one of the rooms. Secure free parking made it safe to store our car while visiting the city. Hotel has 3 floors and we were on the ground floor as they are currently renovating the top floor (and eventually the whole hotel during 2023). Check in was very fast, person was very nice and we were able to check in earlier so thank you for that! Super clean, water pressure and temperature worked well! Location is perfect, only a few steps away from the bus stop, but also walking distance to many great restaurants.

Small fridge or microwave would have been nice but it really wasn't an issue. Rooms are a bit dated but they are currently renovating the hotel so nothing really not to like about the place.

This hotel is recently refurbished. It is exceptional, very clean, beds are super comfortable with great bedding! Covered roomy parking… and the location is very convenient. For this area in SF the price point is competitive and a great value. Now- my room did face Lombard so it was a bit noisy due at times due to traffic… but what do you expect, a very small price to pay for such a great hotel in every other category. Well done Coventry, I’ll be back!!!

Wow! The Coventry Motor Inn is in a safe and quiet location, with free parking. The room was so large and so modern, it had just been redecorated. The bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly too. There is a local convenience store opposite the hotel, along with some amazing restaurants. Fisherman’s Wharf was around 30 minutes walk, which was great.

I loved the Coventry Motor Inn and would highly recommend staying here.
