The location is perfect (just around the corner from Scout Coffee and within a few minutes walk of restaurants and bars). The property itself is stunning, beautifully appointed and the whole place has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Impeccably clean. The room I had (called ‘Close to Home’) was large and the bed was very comfortable. I was only staying for one night, but had the best night of sleep in a while. Breakfast was delicious. Mack and Kava (I hope I have spelled names correctly) were beyond helpful, looking after my suitcase after checkout, as I had a few more hours in SLO due to train delays. Loved this place.

Fantastic location, right in the town center, gorgeous charming building and decor. Breakfast was outstanding with homemade banana bread and a fantastic avocado toast with chili oil eggs on top. The staff was extremely kind and let me and my husband check out late and then stay for a few hours in the entry/dining room to work on our laptops. They even brought us a freshly baked pastry they were preparing for the following breakfast (after I inquired about the heavenly smell coming from the kitchen). The lovely and extremely talented chef is the best part of this wonderful place. Thank you!

I liked everything, my only suggestion for improvement would be to enhance the patios in the rooms with patio/balcony, as they are fairly bare for now and do not match the rest of the fantastic place. A few plants and a cute outdoor sitting set would go a long way.

Very nice stay at the Garden Street Inn. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. Liked that complimentary coffee, tea, and wine are usually available, along with the yummy cookies they put out in the afternoon. The location is perfect for seeing SLO downtown on foot. Parking was no problem at all; we were always able to park just two or three blocks away on Garden Street. Dining recos: Luna Red, Locanda, Buffalo, SLO Provisions - all excellent!

I wish that we could have opened more windows in our room; two of the three were painted shut. Also, the furniture in our suite could use a bit of an upgrade. I realize that what's there now kind of fits with the "old timey" vibe, but a larger and more comfortable sofa would be a big plus.

The location was the best part of the stay. The Inn is located a block away from a main street in the heart of San Luis Obispo. Holly and Kava were very pleasant staff members and the decor in the reception area was very warm and friendly. The bathroom was spacious and modern with a large shower area.

We were disappointed as to how small the room was. We basically had to live out of our suitcases over the two days we were there because there was no closet and minimal drawer or floor space. What was described as a balcony (on the main floor) was a porch that you had to step over sandbags to get to. The breakfasts were a single preset offering and there was no possibility of special requests. While 2 of the 3 staff members we encountered over the two days were genuinely warm and friendly, the person greeting us when we arrived did not make us feel overly welcome.

Charming B&B with each room uniquely decorated. Lovely public library sitting area. Each morning, freshly breakfast and THE BEST cinnamon buns EVER! :-) It's our "go to" place when we cut our drive in half overnight between San Francisco and SoCal / Palm Springs.

Parking is on the street (metre until about 5pm); however, after 5pm, you can park FREE in the bank parking lot right next door (very secure / safe) as long as you leave by 9am. Otherwise, there's a city parking deck nearby. We've never had a problem.

Location was fantastic. A couple of minutes walk to all the interesting parts of town. And SLO itself is a great location for visiting the coast and wineries inland. One point of importance: we dire a plug-in EV and the parking structure behind the Inn has plenty of EV chargers. Special bonus: there are 3 chargers in the parking area itself that are free if you are parked there - but they are often taken. If they are taken, there are at least a dozen pay-as-you-go chargers in another section of the structure.

Could not get the AC/Heating to work. I know that staffing is not easy and expensive, but it would be nice to have bed and room service every day, not just when you specifically ask for it.

Central location, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean.

Minor thing but we didn’t receive the wifi password until the morning after our stay - apparently we should’ve received it by text message but we have international numbers so it didn’t come through, and the person who checked us in forgot to give it to us. Not a huge deal but it was a bit annoying not to have it overnight, it would be helpful for them to leave an information card in the room.

The property was centrally located within walking distance to all restaurants and shop. The shared space downstairs was decorated very nice and cozy, so many books to read! The spa tub in the room was very nice.

The black out curtains in the room are inside mount which let a lot of light in at night. Outside mount application would cover the street lights coming into the room. The mattress was not very comfortable at all. The city started sidewalk cleaning around 6:45am-830 am which was incredibly loud. Not the fault of the property but I would ask for a room facing the back of the property and not the front.

Breakfast was amazing. Property very cozy.

I was on ground floor and opening window shades not an option in my room (there were shades but to open them meant complete loss of privacy) as I would be exposed to a walk way, another guest room patio and a parking lot. Shades that opened from the top to provide light into room would be appreciated.

What a beautiful inn - I would definitely stay there again. It felt like I was sleeping in someone's beautifully decorated home. For the most part, it was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious and the location is great. I especially loved the clawfoot tub in our room. The place was exceptionally clean, as well.

The only thing I didn't like was having to park so far away with all of our bags. It's nice that they pay for the parking, but it's quite a ways to walk with your luggage. We didn't have to leave with the car at any point, but I was curious as to what the hotel did in that case.
