I absolutely loved my stay at the historic Hotel Santa Barbara, from the moment I stepped in and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She made me feel welcome immediately and was so very helpful. The room was wonderful and very comfortable. It's a perfect location, right in the heart of State Street. Everything was walkable, and it was great to be there in the middle of all the action and great shops, restaurants, and bars. The valet parking guys were also very friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they always had the car out quickly for me. Really great experience all around!

The location was excellent and despite being downtown was quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the parking valets were quick and professional. The ice tea and lemon water in the lobby were appreciated and the staff had cookies in the afternoon.

The barn door style bathroom door was annoying because the handle was a little hard to grasp. The bathroom needed another towel rack. We were 3 adults in a double room, 2 queen beds. The hotel elevator is small, kind of quaint and we usually took the stairs as it was often a long wait. (The stairs were no problem for us on the 3rd floor.)

The location was amazing! The staff was absolutely the most helpful and nice - the person working the front desk, the car valet, the person who is responsible for cleaning - all of them. They were courteous and very knowledgeable in helping us spend our time in Santa Barbara. The rooms are a little dated, but have character. They're clean, cozy and very comfortable.

This will seem very odd - but they have these automatic light turn off things in the bathroom. Those turn off too quickly - when you're showering - and then you're kind of left chilling in the dark thinking about life and where you left the towel.

Our first stop on our 101 highway road trip was Santa Barbara, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel's location is perfect, as it is within walking distance of all the major attractions, including the picturesque Stearns Wharf. Although the room had a slightly dated feel to it, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Since we were mainly exploring the area, it was a nice and comfortable place to rest for the night. The hotel's entrance from the main street is beautiful, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We forgot two jackets in the closet while still feeling inspired after our first stop, and the hotel promptly shipped them back to our home in Florida. We are very grateful for their prompt response and excellent customer service. One of the things that made our stay even better was the EV charger for our Tesla. It was very convenient to have it available, and overall, we had a fantastic stay in Santa Barbara. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling along the 101 highway. Oh! One thing that I want to add. When you will visit the Stearns Wharf try out the Santa Barbara Sea Urchin at Santa Barbara Shellfish Company! It is mind and soul-blowing!

The elevator :) Was an unforgettable experience!) Our stop number 5 was at San Francisco Palihotel, where there was a 100-year-old elevator, but this one broke the record! Although it may not be the fastest way to get up and down, the elevator is a unique feature of the hotel that should be kept. It adds character and a sense of nostalgia that you will remember forever. lol Oh and I remember when booking the room, reading bad comments about the noise level. We had a very good sleep, and nothing was bothering us. It was quiet and peaceful.

We had a quiet room. Our other family members said they could hear partyers on the street late at night. We were on the third floor. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Beds were comfortable. Nice linens and towels! Attentive staff. Coffee in the lobby in the AM. Nice infused waters in the lobby in the afternoon.

Rooms were quite small but it is an historic building after all. Street noise late at night in some rooms. Who thinks Keurig makes good coffee? Whatever kind we had in the room was not good coffee. Downstairs lobby coffee was better.

Historic hotel in downtown Santa Barbara, good location, fantastic ambiance. I came early and dropped my luggage off and they texted me when my room was ready. The front desk staff was friendly and super competent. I really enjoyed my stay here.

At the end of my visit, I walked towards the elevator and saw a pit bull with a family. The pit bull growled about 30 ft away and I decided to take the stairs. I really like dogs, but it was a surprise to see this in such a nice hotel

My wife and I had a great 2 night stay here in Nov 22. The hotel is in a very central location right in the middle of State Street, the pedestrianized main street in downtown Santa Barbara. It is surrounded by all the downtown shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk to the Funk Zone, West beach and Stearns Wharf and pier. Although it is very central, it was not noisy. The main hotel entrance is impressive, and our room was large, well equipped and very clean. There is also car parking, which is ideal.

The location is terrific and the main reason I stay here. The lack of breakfast is no ok. Prior to Covid, there was a breakfast and it seems like time to bring that back. The room was fine. I have stayed here and few times and this time the bed and pillows did not seem as comfortable as the others. In addition, my room was smaller then in the past.

I would appreciate the breakfast coming back and valet is getting a little expensive.

The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. It’s located in the heart of Santa Barbara close to a lot of restaurants and Starbucks is right next door, which is convenient for a late morning or early afternoon specialty coffee. The best part of Hotel Santa Barbara was the staff. The were exemplary. They were so accommodating to any and all requests. If you are looking for great customer service, this is the hotel for you. It is also a great hotel if you are planning a wedding or family reunion in Santa Barbara. They have a beautiful room that can be used as a hospitality suite for your guests. This is a perspective venue for a romantic getaway or for a family or friendship reunion.

The hotel is centrally located so you can walk to a lot of places. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. The room was comfortable.

There was very loud music both Saturday and Sunday evenings into the wee hours coming from State Street. It interfered with our sleep. If I returned I'd request a room on the other side of the hotel, not across from clubs and restaurants on State Street.
