Palihouse Santa Barbara

I love the location, walkable to the center of town, restaurants and historic buildings but on a quiet street. I also love that it has an underground self park garage, cute design, spa water and lemonade on tap in the lobby.

The room cooling is on some kind or programming that is not changeable and I wasn’t cool enough at night. I requested resetting but it wasn’t much improved.

Location, facilities, happy hour all great.

We had breakfast there one day of our stay. We couldn't understand why it was so bad considering the rest of the stay. And as far as I was concerned (paying for it), considering the price. My partner couldn't eat her eggs and toast they were so bad - dry, tasteless. My egg burrito was not much better. We should have asked them to remove the breakfasts from the bill, but let it slide. My partner did mention it to the clerk on checking out. How can you screw up eggs so badly?

A charming boutique hotel on a quiet street in central Santa Barbara! I had one of the studio type of rooms featuring an electric fireplace, comfy bed, table, vintage style full size fridge, desk and spacious bathroom with a large soaking tub. I also really liked the convenient self parking garage and the lovely courtyard area.I would happily stay here again.

My main complaint was the spotty and weak Wi-Fi. Strangely my charming balcony only sported a couple of camp stools for seating.

The courtyard is a little slice of heaven. The decor was relaxing, laid back and spot on. All the food and drinks were delicious. The free honesty bar is a very nice touch. Feels romantic and secluded despite being basically in the heart of old SB within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. Free welcome bottle of bubbly to start our stay set the right tone.

price is on high side for a cool laid back spot with very little amenities. They get everything they do right so I would still absolutely come back.

Beautiful property that is far enough from the hustle and bustle of state street to be quiet but close enough to be within walking distance to many great restaurants and stores. The staff is friendly and attentive and we immediately felt welcomed upon our arrival. We also loved how this hotel was truly dog friendly. Had the forethought to place us in a room that was well suited for having a dog. Our pup loved the garden patio attached to our room as did we. They also provided a dog bed and bowls to use during our stay and our pup got some treats and a toy to enjoy! Other things we enjoyed was the intimate vibe of the hotel, the super comfortable bed, the fabulous bath products and rain showerhead. Next time we visit we will try to take advantage of the pool, the cafe for breakfast and the honor bar!

Everything was wonderful

Amazingly upscale-comfortable. An oasis in the middle of Santa Barbara. Beautiful courtyard, room was incredible. But the best part was the genuine attentiveness of the staff. Truly exceptional.

The a/c went out in our room during the night. We were only there one night, and they provided a fan as soon as we asked in the morning. Not much privacy from the balcony, as all the units face each other.

The boutique property is quaint and secluded. The rooms are nice and the mattress was so very comfortable.

The shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mounted in the shower so if you have a bath and you forget your own body wash it’s a pain. I don’t know why the property can’t spend the few dollars on a mini body wash for the bath given the huge price for the room (over $800 for one night).

Location is great for people who want to walk around and explore SB. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the ocean as well. They also have bikes for rent. It’s no surprise since it’s a Pali property but the design is very chic—no shortage of photo-ready corners. Everyone working there is lovely and considerate. Really great service. I felt very safe with COVID protocol-a lot of the hotel is outdoors anyway but everyone was masked and everything was impeccably clean. Really liked that the garage was self park and we didn’t have to deal with valet every time we came and went.

The app system there isn’t as intuitive as intended. For the price, all rooms should get housekeeping and/or turndown service unless otherwise specified by guests. The inn seems like quite an old hotel (the bones of the place) which is part of its charm but the walls are a bit thin. We woke up to noisy neighbors but the front desk staff did take care of the issue right away.

For the price, I had hoped that breakfast would have been included (as it was at many surrounding hotels). Room was spacious. Bicycles were free to use.

Our room was noisy at night due to a water pump or something related to the swimming pool. Made it difficult for me to sleep.
