The location is only a block from the Santa Cruz Pier and an easy walk to the Beach Boardwalk. While the rooms are basic, they are comfortable; one is paying for the location. Parking is free and security of the parking lot enforced. The rooms also contain a microwave and tiny mini-refrigerator, which is a great convenience.

The plumbing was in poor shape, with a leak in the bathroom sink and the knob for the tub/shower loose; it would come off in one's hand. People with mobility issues should know that this property is on a steep hill and so even the 'ground floor' rooms involve dealing with a very steep slope. Rooms on the upper level require negotiating multiple flights of steps; there are no lifts. Also be aware that there is no coffee maker or teapot in the room.

This is a prime location merely steps from the pier! Walking to the boardwalk took less than 10 minutes and went along the beach. I will definitely stay here for my next vacation to Santa Cruz!

There was no continental breakfast, which was fine by me but disappointing to my 2 kids under 10! Our two bedroom was a tight fit, but worked. . Our room did not have an ocean view, but I didn’t request one!

My room was perfect, except the fridge leaked a bit. The reception was very friendly and accommodating. I grew up in Santa Cruz, but haven't lived there since the 90s. My mom is in SC, in a nursing home,.so I have been staying in a few hotels on my trips to see her. This hotel was the best so far, clean, quiet, affordable and comfortable. I stayed here during the off season and it was a great deal.

Tv stations were pretty bad. Disclaimer: don't watch TV much so maybe I'm not the best judge.

I got locked out of my room at around midnight, but there was no staff on-site around then to let me in. I had to dial a number and wait some 30 minutes for someone to come help out. I loved every other aspect of my stay, but round-the-clock support is something I have always thought was a very basic expectation from hotels.

The room is basic, clean, and we had a lovely view of the ocean. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, and although we were early for our reservation, we were checked in and welcomed early. The location can't be beat! Just steps to the Boardwalk and wharf.

The faucet dripped all night, but the noise was remedied by using a wash cloth to dampen it. Be ready to use the stairs; as there are lots of them! But, that is especially good if you are trying to get them in for the day!

The lady at the front desk was so nice! Normally they have no expression and are robot like but wow just her energy gave off a wonderful vibe. Whatever your name is, thank you for being so kind hearted! You are so nice! The actual distance from the hotel to the beach was insane.. walk down the drive way and I’m looking right at the beach! Speechless. I could walk to the pier in 2 minutes. Boardwalk in 5. So many places to eat walking distance. This is a go to stay right here. I will not be staying anywhere else, anytime I come back to Santa Cruz. Beach view inn, you have my business!

I will say, like all hotel beds, it was hard as a rock. The mini fridge was barley holding temperature. The bathroom had little spots of dry mold. Nothing insane but noticeable.

The location is perfect and very walkable. The room was very cozy and having a microwave was a huge bonus! The front desk staff are AMAZING and so helpful! The hot showers were great too after being in the cold Pacific :)

Nothing that the Inn could really control. People could be very noisy coming and going in the evenings.

proximity to the wharf. rooms were well maintained. staff very helpful. I felt safe which is important to me. I’ve been buy this hotel many many times over the last 40 years and this is the first time I actually stayed here. I’m glad I did and will be back.

on a hilly slant so if you don’t like walking up or down hills it could be a problem.

Great location. Room was clean and comfortable but a little dated. Comfortable bed. Decent size. Nice shower and good sized bathroom. Nice mini fridge.

configuration of the vanity was outside of the bathroom and inconvienient. No coffe in the room. Room was kind of plain, no frills and I didn't like the lighting.

Booking . com Blew it !!!! I asked for a two night stay for my daughters graduation sat and sunday night. whe ni go to santa cruz they said it was for one night . I spent about 40 minutes minimum with your agent... and it was wrong on your part . i had to find another room somewhere elsle . the agent floundered.
