Great view of the beach from our front door (with 2 chairs out front) and a short walk across the street to play in the sand. About a 10 min walk to the boardwalk. Our room had a microwave and small fridge and we could get plates and silverware upon request. Morning coffee and lattes were at the front office. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner was quiet and effective. We did the Roaring Camp Train ride and could walk to the stop. Loved seeing the seals under the wharf.

An elevator would have been nice as my husband has a bad knee and there were stairs to get to the beach. He managed but it was slow. Usually I think of the beach as being to the west and the sunset over the beach but with this location the beach is south and the sunset is behind the hotel. Took some getting used too.

Location was great! In between the arcade/ boardwalk entrance and the municipal pier on the right side. The property have heated pool and hot tub. Pool lights up at night. They also have a fire pit seating areas and other lounge seating areas. They also provide towels for the pool. The pool closes at 10pm. They off free popcorn from 5pm-9pm and coffee/ hot chocolate and tea in the morning. Snow cones as well during mid day! They property has private entrance to the beach and boardwalk. Requires key card entrance. They also have surveillance cameras on site. They also lock the gates after 10 pm to ensure safety. They have a Laundry room which is also the ice machine room. Tv system is able to stream tv shows or movies from your personal devices. They also offer free Wi-Fi.

The only think I didn’t like about it is the tv is so low had to put on subtitles to watch the movie.

Staff were ALL so friendly, kind, and accommodating. So much so that I talked about it often with the rest of our family. The beach house suite was very well laid out and we loved the proximity to the ocean and boardwalk. We loved the complimentary popcorn and coffee.

Our upstairs neighbors were loudly walking often. The TV streaming was a little difficult to use. The hot tub water looked unclean. The light in the main bathroom turned off and on by itself. The smoke detector in the living room seemed to be off or out of battery. The long cords on the window blinds were a concern for us having small kids. I wish there was a non dairy latte option for the complimentary espresso drinks, but I was able to enjoy an espresso with no milk.

I loved the staff they were beyond nice! it’s nice to encounter both day and evening employees seem happy to be at work. they are also great with kids!! I loved that you have a pool and hot tub option. I do like the water station, that was awesome!!

the main issue we had was with the Wi-Fi system. it just don’t seem to work. when we asked they said it could just be slow but it should be working. so we weren’t able to connect to the tv. they do have cable so we watched that. we just got excited to that we could watch Netflix on the tv but had to download an app and the app would not download due to the Wi-Fi. also the hot tub was a gross color. not sure there is anything to do about that. i was looking forward to it but just not something I stayed long in.

The Inn rooms were clean and comfortable, and honestly the location to the beach can’t be beat! We stayed during a drizzly time and the heated pool and hot tub were a phenomenal way to relax after a long day of driving and walking in the rain. Everyone working there was kind and welcoming, and the coffee in the morning was a perfect way to start the day. We only stayed for one night but the large bathroom and included mini fridge and microwave made it a simple choice for our road trip. The beds were comfortable, clean, and there were plenty of pillows.

For our one night stay there wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property.

It’s a nice spacious room with a couple of chairs to enjoy the beautiful weather and view. Excellent location, within walking distance to restaurants, boardwalk, and pier. The beach is right across from the hotel. The staff were professional and friendly. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to family and friends.

Nothing bad about the hotel. Too bad we didn't get a chance to use their complimentary snacks (popcorn & coffee) and we didn't get a chance to use their swimming pool either.

We were in room 207---gorgeous view of the beach, pier, Dream Inn, etc. An easy walk to the wharf. Just across the street and down maybe 100 feet. To get to Room 207, because the hotel is on the side of a hill, there are stairs down to the 2nd level and from there, stairs down to the street. We can climb stairs so did not ask about accommodations for those who can not do stairs. In the morning there was delicious coffee, hot chocolate, and tea available in the office. No carpet in the rooms, so it felt cleaner. Very large shower. No bathtub. Large sink, along with microwave and fridge, and plenty of counter space in the "tea kitchen". We were VERY happy with our accommodations! OH, and friendly office staff when we checked in and when we checked out. Public parking down the street is $25---it is only $15 at the Beach Street Inn and Suites.

I wish we could have stayed much longer.

The property and staff were AMAZING! Our room was very clean and the view of the ocean PERFECT. Our room had a small fridge, microwave and sink which was nice and the bathroom was much larger than most places. They offer complimentary coffee (all different kinds!), snow cones and popcorn at the lobby, all at diff times of the day. Property is literally right across the street from the beach, wharf and boardwalk so no need to drive anywhere!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like

It was a comfortable and clean room for a family of five and had a balcony that overlooked the beach and Boardwalk, which was great for my husband and I to sit while kids were still sleeping.

The hot tub smelled funny. I didn't spend more than a few minutes in it. They said they were aware of it and had someone coming out to address it and planned on doing a renovation.

The view is worth a million dollars. I love being directly across from the pier and boardwalk. The shower is amazing. There is lots of hot water and great water pressure. I never heard any neighbors. Even with a shared balcony, it felt very private. It could have been because of the time of year being winter, but I never saw anyone else out on the balcony at the same time. I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Santa Cruz again. It's my go-to spot.

The beds are very hard, so if you like a really hard bed, you are in luck. It would be nice if the hotel provided a beach ball.
