This place seems like it has a lot of history. There are old movie posters all over the walls and it has a very old school noir feel. We were only staying the night and came in late, so we did not get to go to the restaurant that seemed like a staple of the town.
We stayed on a last minute change of plans while driving up to San Francisco from Anaheim. My partner new of it from her childhood. It is in a small town so we booked through the app, but we wanted to confirm that someone would be there to check us in as we would be getting in very late. We called several times and had a hard time getting in contact with the property. We eventually we able to get ahold of someone and they fairly accommodated our late check in. Staff is great, just do not expect someone the be sitting at the desk like a hotel hotel in a major city. You may have to just leave a message and wait for a callback.

Quiet, friendly atmosphere. Romantic and serene. Definitely recommended for a pleasant getaway. Love every little attention to detail from the potted plants that brightened up the parking lot to the art on the wall, I can't wait to go back. And the food at Enzos was AMAZING. Great staff all the way around.
Disappointed that they didn't have a pool at first without knowing the history; once we settled in, I didn't even care or think about it.

We loved the decor in the lobby and corridors. We did take a peek on the 3rd floor as we were in a ground room. Loved the spooky feel but we didn't encounter any ghosts during our stay (thankfully!) The hotel was a short walk from the centre which was good for eating out.
The parking sign was hard to see when driving and we ended up going past a few times. The curtains in the room also let a lot of light in- need black out curtains.

The bed in room 220 was super comfortable! One of the best ones we slept in. Staff was very friendly and helpful, it was our second time staying there so everything was easy and familiar.
The restroom door didn't have a lock, and you can hear everything in the other rooms. A little before 8am someone opened our door while we were sleeping! So i dont know if it was another guest or cleaning staff but it freaked us out. I'm sure the do not disturb sign was still out there. So maybe those privacy locks from the inside would've been nice.

The Inn itself is extremely quaint and lovely. The room was very clean and comfortable and the decor of the rooms, lobby, restaurant and bar is lovely. It has a charming haunted feel, so while I’m sad I didn’t have any run-ins with the ghosts, at least I still got to soak in the beautiful spooky atmosphere. Honestly one of the best parts of our stay was James the bartender! He is such a sweetheart and regaled us with many tales and he was so accommodating. We came to celebrate my sister’s birthday and had a lovely time! The Inn is also so close to Ventura and Ojai, it was very convenient to visit the beach and go wine tasting without driving more than 30 minutes away.
Really, the only minor complaint I had was that the food at Enzo’s Restaurant in the Inn, while very beautifully presented, was overcooked and dry. The caprese salad appetizer and caesar salad were fresh and delicious, so they outshone the dry entrees, but our dessert of chocolate cake and the wine selection were wonderful! Facilitites-wise the only downside is that the Inn itself is quite small and there’s no yard area really or a pool. But the surrounding neighborhood is very cute and had some great restaurants and shops!

We loved the homey feel of the lobby. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We reserved two rooms. Room 108 was a good size. But there was a bad smell coming from the left sink in the bathroom. Room 107 was somewhat small and the bed was so tall that it was difficult to climb up on. We had a nice time at the bar. It had a friendly small town bar feel. We sat down for dinner the tablecloth was so long all four of us stepped on it as we slid into the booth. As we waited for someone to come by we noticed the bread plates were greasy and some of the silverware wasn’t very clean. We flagged down the hostess she took the plates and exchange them with warm plates that were dirty as well. At this point we decided to leave. Several of the waitstaff were by the hostess stand not sure who our waiter was. They never came to our table. Don’t get me wrong we have every intention of returning. Aside from our underwhelming experience at the restaurant, We loved the location, the town, and the historic feel of the property.

everything was so clean and the way the inn was decorated was very nice! the staff were so kind and welcoming and assisted my elderly mother when she needed help with the AC and heating in the room. i absolutely loved my time spent at the glen tavern inn and i definitely plan on returning in the future when i have to come out to Santa Paula, CA.
the beds were not very comfortable to me and it was hard to get some restful sleep on the bed i was sleeping on in the two double beds room we were assigned on the 1st floor of the building.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was easy to access and we loved the feel of the old tavern and inn. The room was small but comfortable, and well maintained for such an old building. Would stay again when visiting the area.
The walls are a little thin, we were woken up very early by someone upstairs showering and the water rushing through the plumbing. Then when that shower upstairs turned off, our shower started dripping and stayed that way until we got up a few hours later.

The building inside and outside is beautiful! We love the decor of the hotel and keeping memories of the past alive. The Italian restaurant inside the hotel has excellent service and food. Sylvia checked us in and she was very friendly and accommodating. We'll be back!
My only complaint would be the shower head, it couldn't be adjusted and therefore made it a little difficult. But I also understand keeping fixtures as original as possible.

Like the location, the look and historic feel and ambience. The staff was efficient in solving the problem with the room. The restaurant was good. Friendly environment and all and all a good stay.
That we had to change our room due to a cleanliness issue. Previous guest/s put milk in the coffee machine and the stench was horrible.
