The pool and jacuzzi were clean and open until 11pm, which we took advantage of! The location is amazing, and I found it hard to believe the amazing deal for our stay, so close to the Ojai Arcade. We walked the entire time we stayed here. Staff were all incredibly kind; continental breakfast and dining room were ample, and sun-soaked... it felt like a Bed & Breakfast in its charm.

Our mattress/bed could have been more comfortable; the bed was very bouncy. Also, the tile floor could have used an area rug for a little more coziness. These are nitpicky things; overall, we had a great stay, and will happily book again!

I really enjoyed my stay at Chantico. The staff was very attentive and understand the meaning of Customer Service. They treated their humble hotel as a First Class resort and treated every person as a VIP. That is the way it should be. Rocio, checked me in, the process was quick and she was very friendly. Though English was her second language you can tell by the way she spoke and explained things to me she was quite fluent and comfortable expressing herself. Very, Very Helpful. Ana, is also a gem, she takes pride in her work, and you realize that as a professional this is only a stepping stone in her career in hotel management. She has a demeanor which is perfect for this industry, I can see her working at the 4 Seasons, Ojai Valley Inn or large establishment as she is fluently bilingual and well educated. Jennifer, is an amazing team leader and hotel Manager. How she does it is beyond me. She understands the importance of running any size hotel as a resort and and giving all her patrons 5 Star VIP treatment. The rooms are clean and have a large 64” TV if that is what you are into and they have nice elevated Queen size bed. There is even a small patio where you can sit. And it is non-smoking. They have a pool to enjoy as well as a whirl pool.

Breakfast was simple in their wonderful well lit patio. Baked goods, Yogurt, Oatmeal and Fresh fruit and waffles as well as coffee and tea. It was probably the only thing that need a bit more thought.

The style of the outside was very cute, loved all the tile and location. We were sad it was rainy and cold so we couldn't use the pool area. The woman at check-in was very accommodating, helped us switch rooms, and helped us out with the breakfast in the morning. Room was very clean, decor was quirky, but common area could be a bit cleaner.

The first room we checked into was odd and small, right off the reception, the walkway flooded, wet floors, and couldn't enter with our key through the reception area. Thankfully when we returned later in the evening there was a cancellation so we were able to move into a room with two beds and much more space upstairs. However the air freshener was EXTREME, we had to have the windows open most of the (cold) night. My short mother couldn't reach the sink, it was very tall and didn't drain well. Breakfast was minimal, especially if you're gluten free.

Rustic

HUGE PROBLEM, must register using an APP and not at the front desk because staff do not have access to the APP which requires a Photo for Resistration. HOWEVER, the App requires access to all photos and videos on your cell phone all which are PRIVATE and personal data information not to be shared. THUS, denied access to my cellphone pictures and videos. THUS could not resister using the APP. Very problematic for customers and the hotel and app could care less about your data/photo/privacy.

The Chantico Inn is a charming, beautifully decorated hotel that faithfully reflects the spirit of Ojai--with friendly, sincere staff members who make a guest feel right at home. I was grateful to have such a nice place to stay! My sole disappointment was in not being able to remain in the room originally assigned to me for my entire stay: it had already been booked. (No worries, though, for I was moved to another quaint, welcoming room for the remainder of my visit.) Next time I visit the Chantico Inn, however, I shall reserve my favorite room earlier in the season so that I can, once again, feel right at home in Ojai!

I might have foreseen the popularity of the venue and reserved my room for a longer period of time! Apart from that, I will look forward to my next stay, when I'll get to renew my acquaintanceship with the manager and staff! Thoughtful, friendly people!

Great location a short walk from the center of town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and one of the pillows actually supported my head instead of collapsing! Nice big TV also.

The parking lot was a breeze to get into but tricky to get out of. You entered via a wide center aisle with angled parking on both sides. But there was no driveway exit at the end of the center aisle. You had to back out, make a Y turn (there was a space for that, fortunately), and exit the way you came in. My car has a bad turning radius so that part was a bit difficult.

The room was nicely decorated and clean. The beds where extremally comfortable and fresh. The breakfast and Happy hour were very nice. The guest and the staff where very friendly. My god sister and I truly enjoyed the short but fun stay.

I only had a problem with the toilet seat in room 3 it looks very worn, Other than that everything was great.

I liked that they had a pool and hot tub. I also appreciated their breakfast. It's very quaint and cute and the staff was very friendly.

I hung my white bathing suit inside the closet to dry and it got rust stains on them afterwards and I don't think it will come off.

No tea or coffee in room. Made coffee after it was delivered to room and the cups provided had wax inside the cup that melted into my coffee, had to throw it out. Only provided one hand towel for two people. Lamp between beds did not work. Sink did not drain well. Beds were comfortable and air conditioner worked well. Quiet night. Breakfast bread was not fresh. Coffee was good, news papers were four days old.

Fix above problems.

Beds are comfortable. Staff was nice and super helpful; Room was clean. It is walking distance to most food and local attractions.

It will be a lot better if there is a desk in room for light work / study; Or at least a high chair to pair with the built-in table at the entry area for people to work or read. We have stayed for three nights, 2 of the 3 mornings there was no coffee available at the breakfast, the first time it ran out and the second time the coffee pot was broken.
