Hidden parking fees. Was given notice two days before check in so even if you wanted to cancel, it was to late. It’s a motel or a motor lodge. Of course you’re going to have a car. Especially this motel. It’s totally away from any airport or bus station etc.. Then when I complained about it , the desk person said that the other motel down the street charges $25/day to park your car. Like this makes it a good deal. Nobody likes hidden fees.

Very close to a wonderful beach. The staff was great upon checking in and also the free breakfast was good and convenient. My favorite was the wonderful lady working the breakfast area. She was friendly and kind, kept everything very clean and the food and coffee well stocked. Pool area was nice as well. Water was clean.

Shower was oldish and not as clean as I’d like but I just wore flip flops in shower. Rest of bathroom was clean. Also there were a few fruit flies in the microwave and around but it may have been if previous people had fruit or bananas in the room, since there were bananas at the free breakfast. Did not love the $16 a night fee for parking although there seems to be street parking as well (except mornings Tuesdays)

Great location, walking distance to the beach, trendy restaurants and shops. Comfy room for the most part. Bathroom stocked with plenty of shower supplies. Have stayed here twice now. Staff and crew visible and available.

Very nice to provide a warm breakfast, basic choices of oatmeal, eggs, bagels, etc., no problem, except quality, taste could improve. Also can't draw curtains shut, they're nailed in place. Not sure if it's just the room I've stayed in.

The room was very spacious and comfortable, which a decent shower over a bath. We liked the fact that there was a fridge in the room too. Comfortable beds with a choice of pillows. An added bonus was the free breakfast, which was excellent - a big range of items (hot and cold) were available. The room was sound-proofed which was great - lovely and quiet.

The pool area was pretty grubby, and obviously hadn't been cleaned for a while. The pool itself was maintained, but walking on the dirty surrounding surfaces let the area down. The water in the jacuzzi was also a rather murky green colour - needless to say I didn't use it.

The variety and quality of the breakfast was very good. Having a hot breakfast and pancakes all on self serve was a great experience. I like the fact it was so close to the Del Mar Trade Show. The pool look great but I did not use it. I'm glad it did not have an ocean view... it would have doubled the price for sure. The staff was very friendly! I liked the balcony seating area but I wish it had a nicer view than an empty dirt lot and parking structures.

I had 2 queen beds and one was very hard and uncomfortable but the next night I switched to the other bed and it was perfect! I did not like the entrance to the motel from the underground parking lot. It felt like I was in the wrong place or trying to get into the motel from the back door. I did not like the Dove shampoo and conditioner set in the shower. I'm just not a fan of the Dove soap.

Very good breakfast available. Location spot on. This is our second time of staying here. It is so convenient we are returning in the autumn. The desk staff were friendly and helpful and although we declined housekeeping during our stay, the housekeepers were very accommodating for clean towels, providing new litter bags and coffee pods.

It did worry us a bit about the door from the hotel to the garage being propped open, but we understood the laundry needed fresh air. We didn’t raise this with the reception staff. It wasn’t obvious from the outside that anyone could enter the hotel, so we didn’t feel too compromised.

Breakfast buffet had a great variety of hot and cold options, with coffee available all day. Location was excellent for our forays up and down the coast. It was nice to have a safe, easy place to park, though I would have been even happier if the $15 daily parking fee was included in the room rate. Room with nice sized refrigerator and sliding glass door to let in the lovely breeze was pleasant.

The carpeting throughout the hotel was dingy and needs a very deep clean or better yet replacement with a nicer design.

Quick check in late at night. Comfortable bed, breakfast was great with cheese omelets and friendly, helpful breakfast lady. The location was very convenient for my son's lacrosse tournament within a couple miles. Close to everything ~ beach, shopping, groceries, and highways. Room was clean. All staff was helpful in refilling any supplies and linens. Pool and hot tub was clean and good temperatures.

Parking fees for each day seemed high. Our balcony was dirty and wet. I'm not sure if it was a homeless guy playing his drum and music (or the people in the room above me) all night Saturday -- I called the front desk at 2:30am and they seemed to resolve it. Maybe a remodel in the future could place the vanity outside of the shower area so the other person can get ready (dry hair, brush teeth, makeup, etc.)

I've stayed here before, and I'm happy to say they have done Renovations ! This holiday inn is very nice and comfortable, great location, right next to ocean. The beds are very comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast is good with many choices for breakfast.

I wish the parking price wouldn't keep going up. Wifi was spotty in some areas.

I came at noon and was able to check-in early, very friendly staff and a helpful lady at reception, good parkingspots underneath the hotel which is nice as it is cooler and protects from rain when entering the hotel, it was a nice large room,

The view from the room looked out on what seemed to be a not maintained parking space / garden.
