The location is fantastic, we walked into Boulder via the Boulder Creek Trail, and it was about 2.3 miles and very beautiful. I love how green this region and the canyon are, as opposed to the higher elevations which were not as pretty. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and practical. The resort is cute and the lobby coffee and bakery were excellent. They also have a little beer garden and pour a number of draft beers. The lights at night are nice! The resort is eclectic and rustic. If you are looking for fancy, this may not be for you. There are great trails leaving the property and we really enjoyed our stay.

Overall we had very few suggestions. The room had a funny smell when we'd walk in, but we got used to it right away. The exterior could be a bit more inviting, hiding garbage cans, dressing up the entry experience, etc. but it isn't meant to be an upscale hotel so it didn't really matter to us.

I really enjoyed my stay at A-Lodge! I booked this place looking to get away and into nature, so the location was perfect in that context. It is far enough away from town that you can go hiking, jogging, and enjoy nature, but close enough that you can catch the bus or call an uber to take you into Boulder. I did not have a car and managed just fine. The staff was really nice and helpful. The room had everything you needed. They also have events from time to time so there is an opportunity for socializing. They serve draft beer as well on site.

I was okay with this fact, but I only mention it in case others need it. There is no cell service and occasionally the wifi would drop.

Amazing place, great location both in the start to the mountains but only 10 mins to Boulder. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodges all seem to be in one level with parking in front then straight on to a small river with some seating areas on a small amount of grass which was a great place to chill or eat outside. Also a barbecue was set up if you wanted it. Hot tub was great. The location was perfect for me to access the trails locally, had a great time at the lodge and would definitely stay again if in the area.

The only slight downside is that the lodges do not have great sound proofing between them. I was in a set of about 10 which were all based on the same wooden flooring, there were some excited kids with heavy footsteps and jumping around which made a bit of noise. I had some ear plugs and that was fine for me. Not a major problem, but maybe pack some just in case.

Beautiful setting—the drive to the property is even gorgeous! Lovely, wooded setting with a creek running through. I arrived at night so I couldn’t fully appreciate the surroundings until morning but even at night it was pretty with strings of lights hung around the main building and property. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Close to CU’s campus so a convenient place to go after visiting with my son. Will definitely stay again!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. The shower is small—fine for me but might be less comfortable for a bigger/taller traveler. The room is unlocked on arrival and the key is inside. For a single woman arriving at night that felt a little odd—technically anyone could have been waiting in my room when I entered alone. (Of course no one was and it was fine but it just surprised me.) They have a very friendly, welcoming vibe and I guess just trust people in general.

The hotel is about 4 miles outside of Boulder, which if you want a glimpse of the canyon is wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful with Uber etc info for getting forth into town as I was there for a graduation, not an outdoor experience. I stayed in a 2-queen bed room, with a very nice sized kitchen and table separated from the bedroom with an open wall. This was a bonus as it gave the impression of two rooms. The bathroom was the typical toilet separated from sink area which I prefer. Outside was gorgeous. A very short walk from the main lodge with an outdoor seating area and fire pit. Inside has seating area around the fireplace and table area for seating and having a coffee. Breakfast is not provided though a breakfast sandwich is sold along with beer, wine and other non-alcoholic drinks. My only suggestion was to sell coffee creamer for later night arrivals who do not bring food as there is excellent coffee from a local producer in the rooms. All in all it was great.

Fantastic location just outside of Boulder- there is a trail that hugs this beautiful river, which you can follow it from the lodge all the way to downtown. We did this hike several times and then took an uber back which ranged from $10-13.

Nothing- they provide you with plenty of coffee which you can have in the mornings by your own picnic table, by the river, benches, a grassy field, or the firepits. Wonderful, peaceful location perfect for biking, hiking, or relaxing. There are also trails up the mountain behind the lodge.

The bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean. The location was ideal- just outside of Boulder, but in the mountains, so it was quiet and beautiful! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, as well- plus, you can't beat the price. We very much enjoyed our time! Would recommend for travelers looking for a quiet, in-expensive hotel in Boulder that really invites you into nature: think summer-camp vibes.

The room had a pretty consistent musty smell. Not sure if this has to do with location or lack of open windows, but we did notice that throughout our stay. I would add that the locks on the doors may need to be updated. They functioned correctly, but as a young female traveler, I always feel better with more sturdy, complex and modern locks.

The hostel is located in the most beautiful place with mountains all around, and it was especially lovely in the snow when I went in February. They have a hot tub and the staff members were all really friendly and helpful, giving great recommendations for hikes and advice on the bus services. You can get here from Denver as long as you check the times in advance as the bus service from Boulder downtown is a bit infrequent. The hostel was cosy and everything was clean and the rooms were big for 4 people each. The main lodge has a bar and serves snacks eg scones and burritos. There was a happy hour from 4 to 6 each day and it was a great place to socialise and relax after hiking. There's also a great hike you can do from just behind the lodge itslef

The bus service is pretty infrequent up there so I had to leave earlier than I ideally would have done. It's not the fault of the lodge though and the bus stop is very close to the lodge so it's better than most semi-rural locations in the US to get to without a car. Worst case you could always take a taxi service to or from town anyway.

Beautiful nature, lovely creek, nice beer, and friendly people from all over the world. Hiking and biking around was also very nice. Trails are very accesible from the lodge. Weather was perfect.

It's not really a huge deal during the day since the creek path is lovely to walk and bike. However, the lodge is somewhat uphill, so a service to go up and down town a couple times a day for folks without cars would be nice, perhaps also a bike share service where you could leave your bike once you are in town and pick another one to go up again later in the day. Maybe you could even use the bus station schedule to make sort of an airport shuttle service - it's free during summertime! (Perhaps some of this already exists, in which case they should advertise it more!)

For the most part, the staff was friendly and helpful. The accomodations and rooms were very nice and I liked the location

The manager of the place was pretty uptight. He seemed to be an uncomfortable, unhappy person who allowed that to interfere with his ability to do his job. Even some staff members seemed uncomfortable when he was on site. If I left my service animal, an older dog, for one minute, he threw a fit, figuratively speaking. He made it seem like more of an infraction than it really was. Since the dog is older and requires more sleep than most dogs, the manager was essentially showing absolutely no concern for my dog or myself. It was as though he was on too much of a "power trip" that he forgot how to simply do his job. If one does not have an animal with him, then what I wrote above probably would not apply to them.
