The park is beautiful. The cottage is nice and it was very clean. The kitchenette was fine and it had all the right pans and utensils. It is wonderful to walk two minutes to a major concert and then walk right back.
At $375 or so per night, it's a lot to spend on a tiny cottage so I would call it overpriced (but not vastly overpriced). It would be nice to have a couch in the room so you can sit somewhere besides the bed. For $375, you might expect a porch or back deck with a view, but there is no view whatsoever. It's possible that some cottages face the flat irons, but not sure if those are for rent. The streets are extremely narrow. If you have a small car, bring it. You will likely NOT be able to park in front of your cottage, so you may have a sizable walk to get to your cottage. We had quite a walk, but did not mind. You are really close to trail heads so don't have to get in your car to get to those.

The staff were delightfully helpful and very eager to offer up suggestions on what to do. Every time we needed something, it was no hassle at all. I cannot say enough complimentary things about the staff. They added so much more enjoyment to our stay. Our AC wasn’t initially working when we got there and they added a window unit in about an hour to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect for hiking and within walking distance of Pearl St. shopping district. If you like the outdoors, I could not recommend the area enough. We could have done trails every day and not run out. The dining and general store on site was a nice luxury so we didn’t have to go far to eat if we didn’t feel like it.
One night we got a noise complaint because we were playing an intense game of Uno on the porch. Quiet hours weren’t for another half hour (and we fully intended on honoring them when the time came) so that was a bit annoying but we understood some people aren’t as fun as we are. Another disappointing thing was that we got burgers at the dining hall and they were way over done, however they were also serving a huge party so I would give them the benefit of the doubt (especially since we went back for breakfast a different day and it was excellent).

The location in Boulder is exceptional -- this is just outside the CU campus and also sits directly on more than one significant trailhead for hiking/mountain biking excursions.
There are no TVs in the cottages -- and while that was clear in the booking descriptions, it would be nice if a basic TV and viewing subscription of some type were added. The cottages and location are fantastic as-is, but they would be even better with this minor addition.

The cottage was charming retro 1950ish, tiny, smart, clean, and cozy. The appliances and furniture were true to form. Our living room was adorned with comfortable furniture that included a lovely double rocking chair, a comfortable leather couch, as well as period-specific lamps and end-tables and artwork. Cooled efficiently by a large mobile swamp cooler, the entire flat from kitchen, to bedroom, to bath was quite clean and comfortable. There were no problems but for the "walking path lanes" that facilitate foot traffic between units in very close proximity to cottage windows.
The open community atmosphere facilitated by the walking lanes between the cottages was very nice, but unexpected. While we were enjoying being on the porch, this posed no problem. But, when inside the cottage we found that people were frequently casually walking by, sometimes inadvertently glancing in, just inches past our windows, outside. That prompted us to have to close our blinds to have a sense of privacy. It was readily apparent that the entire property is about the outdoor "family-reunion" sort of vibe. And, that is a GOOD thing. But, if you and your significant other want a private, romantic mountain moment, you might be better off making arrangements to lodge elsewhere.

the location is perfect cottages are so cute and well maintained. best part is the hiking trials are right there
this is completely my fault for not reading about the property better but my only complaint is there’s no tv. and I say that bc I have 2 small children and sometimes you just need a tv for them.

Chautauqua is a beautiful area in Boulder. The dining hall is excellent. There is a wonderful playground area if you’re traveling with children. The views are exceptional and plenty of hiking is nearby. It snowed while I was there and they quickly cleared paths from the front of the cottages. My grandkids came over to visit and loved all the bears dotted around that local artists had painted. Everyone working for Chautauqua is so helpful and extremely pleasant. I stayed in a one bedroom cottage. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed to make my stay pleasant. Looking forward to coming back.
The internet can be spotty.

Beautiful location. the property worked with us to have a 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom cabin across the street from each other for our family gathering. everyone enjoyed the restaurant and good, healthy food as well
hard to know if two families would really fit in a 3 bedroom cabin, but we did and it worked great! the 2 bedroom cabin had a roomier deck and place to sit than the 3 bedroom cabin

We loved the location! Perfect for hiking and getting to UC Boulder Campus. The cottage was adorable. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom just right for what we needed. Staff very responsive and wonderful. Loved the Dining Hall as well! Be sure to try the brussel sprouts!!!
The heat was a little hard to control. Our electronic key stopped working when we were trying to leave for early morning ski - we had to leave the cottage unlocked and wait for staff to reprogram key. They called us early afternoon saying they had locked the cottage and had a new key for us in the lodging office when we returned. Our front steps were also being worked on on the last day of our stay which was hard as that was our only keyed entrance.

stunning, beautiful location with the flatirons, gorgeous trees, and views of the city. cozy place with a homey feel. great coffee provided in the kitchen. it was easy to walk to the dining hall for breakfast.
there is one good heater in the living room- the only room it doesn’t quite reach is the bathroom. I was only provided with one coffee filter for a 3 night stay, which seems like an easy to solve problem.

First, understand that the rental cottages are rustic, the floors are uneven, and the studio ones are small. But they have been beautifully and tastefully updated and the bedding and amenities were top quality. The location can’t be beat. Plan your stay around the big concerts; we were there at a quiet time. The meals in the dining hall were excellent. The only criticism was that there was no option for an early morning cooked breakfast.
