Salida Inn & Monarch Suites

Comfortable room with plenty of towels. The swimming pool was nice with towels supplied. Nice bedding and good night's sleep. Breakfast finished a little early at 9.30 but we made the effort and it was varied

The pool was screened from view. A screen is necessary but should be a material that doesn't hide swimmers from view. A safety concern if swimming alone. Nobody would know if you were taken ill or had a fall. Please consider removing the high wooden fence. Single use plastic...why do boiled eggs need to be in little plastic bags and individual slice of bread in plastic bags.? Not good in this day and age.

Good location, VERY nice and friendly staff, nice clean room. Enjoyed the extra space & seating in a "suite" room. Restaurant recommendations from staff were great. I would recommend staying here, although we did go elsewhere for breakfast. Hopefully the mattresses are upgraded sometime after this review. Would stay again.

Limited disappointing breakfast (but the coffee great!), mattress was old uncomfortable springy, ran out of toilet paper & no room refresh provided. We had to come to office to get fresh towels and toilet paper.

The manager was amazing. Apparently there was a technical issue that caused our reservation to not be transmitted from Booking.com to the property but he quickly found us a room at a better rate than originally expected. Was very polite and helpful in a situation that I’m sure was stressful on his end.

We had no issues. Clean, comfortable and the rates are great.

The hotel has been completely redone, and the rooms are very nice. We had a room in the back, and it was very quiet and well furnished. The staff are great, and the room is very clean.

Our only issue is that the bed was a bit too hard for our old bodies. A softer mattress would have made this room perfect, but if you have artificial hips and knees it takes a bit of effort to find a good position.

Big king room, very clean & nicely decorated. An actual closet was a nice extra. Refrigerator, microwave, and counter top with Kuereg coffee maker & cups. Continental breakfast in the lobby offered coffee, tea, juices plus muffins, cereals, bagels, granola bars & hard boiled eggs. Very pleasant breakfast lounge with stone fireplace. Outside grounds beautifully maintained with a hot tub out back. Desk staff were friendly and very accommodating. Fantastic value.

We stayed in the older section. Not perfect - but well updated and very nice.

Excellent amenities. The rooms are very well done — everything you could hope for and more at this price point. Breakfast is really nicely done too—and they even feature local coffee. Toiletries are super nice and abundant. Covid protocols were well established. Very importantly, too, staff were amazing and truly accommodating, even asking if I wanted to put food I had in their refrigerator. Special call out to Kat for being so warm and hospitable. She made this a wonderful stay!

The water was shut off on the first evening with no text or note I called the desk and they informed me of trouble in another room. It wasn’t off for to long, also no water pressure in the shower and it took a long time for the water to get warm and the refrigerator froze everything, I couldn’t find a way to adjust the temperature

Unfortunately I was sick almost the entire week that I was there with some sort of stomach flu but the room was beautiful with two comfortable queen beds and couch, nice big screen TV, nice light breakfast when I finally felt like eating and the maids leave you alone most of the time (which I actually liked).

Wasn't able to check out the hot tub because I was not feeling well. Salida is tooooo cold for my liking!

We had a separate cottage behind the main facility. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the usual "grab and go" fare--muffins, hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, etc. Nice Keurig coffee maker in room. Also a microwave and small refrigerator. Had to request a hair dryer, but I got it immediately.

They didn't have a TV channel list even though they had 200+ channels. Easy to get lost in the middle of infomercials, home shopping, religious programming, etc. The room was furnished with a bed, a recliner, a stand for TV/Coffee, and a chest for storage. It did not have a small table which would have been helpful.

I thought the outside of the building was a bit drab, but that's not what you pay for. The room was certainly nice enough, some features upgraded and some not. It was very comfortable overall, and the shower was fantastic. The location was convenient to dining and shopping.

The weather. But, seriously, there was nothing I can think of to complain about. It was a very good budget Motel.
