The Blake Hotel

Lots of details, very thoughtful room with everything beautifully and conveniently arranged. We had a studio and every detail, from espresso maker to enough hooks for towels and robes in bathroom was well thought out. They e en have a touch clock that won’t give off a neon light all night but rather tell you the time when you need it! Conveniently located. Restaurante and bar at hotel were not open but we could walk to plenty of options!

If I had to pick something, we didn’t have a view, not sure if the property is situated to have one though!

Clean, minimally-designed and humungous rooms with a kitchenette. Pet-friendly with no additional fees. Very centrally located within walking distance to bars and restaurants.

The view itself wasn't great and the homeless situation in town has worsened — but that is New Haven's fault, not the hotel.

Beautiful hotel, rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Hotel staff is extremely kind and helpful.

The rooftop bar looks wonderful, but apparently requires reservations, so we were not able to enjoy it during our short stay.

The Blake Hotel has a wonderful staff that exemplifies pet friendly. It is ideally located in New Haven. Very comfortable rooms.

Like all hotels, it would be preferable for regular room cleaning to return.

Solid weekend escape location, right around the corner from all the action downtown. World class.

Not much to dislike.

The friendly staff delivered morning coffee and cleaned our room every day with care. The front desk team also very professional and friendly. Their excellent care made our stay extra special. The spacious deluxe room with the king-side bed and mini kitchenette was just what we needed for the 3-night stay as my trip was a combination of work/pleasure where I needed to work from the room in most days. The reception/lobby area is very inviting and equipped with sofas and work areas. We did not get an opportunity to use the bar area but it seems like a good place if you prefer a quieter spot to unwind in the evening instead of any of the more vibrant eateries in the area.

Nothing I can think of. The front desk tried to accommodate my late check-out request (Tablet Plus Member) but was not able to do so due to the sold-out situation. However, they did allow me to use a little section of the banquet room so that I can have a 30 minute work call in the early afternoon so that was very much appreciated.

Rooms were clean, modern, and felt like new. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I loved the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and I'm a big fan of the little kitchen in the room. The shower is pretty awesome too. And then the little things like the automatic light in the closet, the reading lights, lots of outlets and USB power ports in convenient locations, and a room safe big enough to fit a laptop if you want. It's obvious that a lot of thought was put into designing the rooms. The location is fantastic and only a few minutes' walk from most of the best spots in New Haven. Dozens of restaurants to satisfy every craving. You're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't take advantage and give several of them a try.

I honestly can't think of anything I disliked about the experience.

Surpassed all expectations! I never normally write reviews but I needed to share how great this place is! The staff are so welcoming and were really accommodating to all our requests. They were incredibly efficient and we never had to wait to be seen at reception which was very impressive. The rooms are heavenly! One of the comfiest beds I’ve stayed in. The kitchen in the rooms are super useful too. Wonderful morning coffee service that delivers straight to you room was such a treat! Also have to mention how incredible this hotel smells! The scent in the lobby and in the rooms was delightful and really added to the welcoming vibe. These small details are always so lovely and you can tell how this hotel pays attention to the little things like this. This is the third hotel we’ve tried in New Haven and our favourite one by far! We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so enjoyable!

Great location of the hotel, near downtown with a lot of restaurants and places to walk and enjoy. A lot of parkings around if you are traveling by car. Walking distance to some nice city sightseeings, like Yale university or museums around. Check-in process is easy, hotel will block extra 300$ in case of any damage, but promised to release it in 3-5 business days. Elevators are little bit slow - sometimes you need to wait a bit longer, but it's very minor. Also - very interesting complimentary coffee delivery at the morning, when you can select time and get fresh morning coffee. Room is very comfortable and well maintained. Overall - I definitely enjoyed my stay and I will consider reserving it again if I'm in the area.

Only minor things - like slow elevator, nothing major.
