Location and breakfast were excellent. Breakfast well prepared. Service consistently excellent. Lobby and public rooms were comfortable, inviting and decorated in lovely understated way. Size of the room was comfortable. Service was excellent - we had to ask to have a refrigerator put in because I needed a medicine chilled. We also had an extra lamp brought in because the room was so dark with only table and floor lamps. Architecture on the cheap because no recessed lighting built in.

The bathroom had no place to put toiletries being used - just a sink standing alone. The decor of the room was sterile - one picture, white walls, black lamps. Architecture seemed to be on the cheap because no recessed lighting is built in. The safe did not work. Engineer tried to fix it but was unable to. The service to accommodate these needs were helpful and gracious.

The staff was excellent -- very helpful in everything we needed, including securing Yale Rep tix for us, etc. And we greatly enjoyed the room, the lobby (Love a nice lobby), the Heirloom bar, etc.

stylish, welcoming and comfortable

Classy, stylish boutique hotel in the heart of downtown New Haven, close to center of Yale campus, shops and restaurants. Walkable to everything. Loved the design, decor and vibe. Room was spacious, light and well-appointed. Excellent beds with high-quality linens, roomy bathroom with walk-in shower. Morning coffee in the lobby was excellent (although there is no breakfast provided -- it's available to purchase via room service or at the restaurant in the lobby). Free copies of the New York Times. Valet parking is available with in and out privileges for $32/day.

At this price point, it would have been nice to have had some breakfast selections provided with the complimentary coffee — at least some pastries or something. Also, parking is pricey--we would have preferred to be without a car, but we drove out to New Haven and needed to be here a couple nights before my daughter could move into a campus apartment, so we had to use the valet parking. But it's convenient, and you can come and go.

Lovely ambiance, immaculately clean. Fast valet service. Breakfast not included, but local bakery and Dunkin' Donuts virtually next door. Numerous restaurants and shops in walking distance. Easy walk to Yale campus for sightseeing and shopping. Short drive to nearby attractions, roads easy to navigate with WAZE.

Missed having minifridge in room. Travelling with kids we rely on having a fridge for drinks and snacks. Restaurant not very kid-friendly for my two who only want chicken tenders or peanut butter.:) but plenty of other options in walking distance.

The service was exceptional. The staff was responsive and accommodating. The rooms, as the name implies, were designed well for someone who plans on studying. Plus, depending on the room, the view was amazing. It was also a decent walking distance from other locations to eat and places to visit. Recommend you drove there or have walking shoes.

Well, we went during the pandemic, so some of the additional features were closed but regardless it was great.

Lobby is styled as University House study Rooms are nice and clean Yale campus si literarily next door Walking in the Yale campus and listening to bell tower concert was magic!

Rooms were not equipped with coffeemaker and microwave (we got micro upon request super quick) Breakfast not included - in house restaurant is quite foody place in New Haven but we did not try à la carte breakfast. Hotel Staff was a bit dry - unused to families? But in the neighborhood we met great people!

The general ambiance is simple and tasteful. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and accommodating. The lobby, inviting . Our room was spacious with an abundance of amenities in the bathroom. I could have done without the magnifying mirror. It does little for an older face. Everything we did was within walking distance and so we appreciated being able to let our car rest in your garage while we moved about.

I wouldn'tsay I didn't like just that the meal in the dining room was a bit uneven for the four of us - some were very satisfied, others, not . But, those desserts!!!! And, the coffee was good and strong. We hadn't realized that tickets to the Yale Repertory would have been gratis along with our hotel reservation. At any rate, I'm sure the extra funds can be put to good use by the theatre.

Hotel was great, had a good night sleep. It's located conveniently and has a parking right below. Had a good price.

Not much really. Maybe the furniture was a bit tired and the carpet can be changed but other than that it was great.
