Inn at Mendehall

The location is not too far from Longwood Garden. It is situated in a quiet and tranquil place.

Although the hotel is clean the mini refrigerator is not working as expected.

Location, staff, and room were all great. The morning desk clerk was a ray of sunshine. He was super! The oatmeal was good. The fruit terrific. The ketchup bottle was a mess and the dishsides had ketchup running down the stack. A guest took the ketchup bottle to his table, cleaned it, and brought it back to the buffet.He couldnt do much about the dishes though. I liked everything. I loved the location, the country rides from there.

Everything was great. More seating at the firepit at regular height.

Satisfactory value for room, comfortable beds, nice breakfast, friendly staff, amazing water pressure in shower, great location for Longwood gardens and vineyards, plenty of parking

Parts of bed sheets and pillowcases were torn or ripped, toilet seat was loose on one end, no bath robe included, a few set-in stains on towels, rooms were clean but smelled stale, no screens in windows so not able to enjoy fresh air, asked front desk staff for housekeeping services twice (refresh towels and change bed linens) but both requests were not honored even after assuring they would be, pre-programmed TV with limited channels, had to lookup what shows/movies were on phone, walls were paper thin!

Everything about the Inn at Mendenhall was excellent and above our expectations. The property was well maintained and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful and were sincere in making you feel that they liked their job and wanted you to like the property. And all that came at a low nightly price compared to the 3 and 4 star national brands. We will return and encourage others that haven’t been there before to go and enjoy the hotel, restaurant and area.

The breakfast was very good.

Crowded and noisy at breakfast, and the room had two steps up to the door (no ramp), which was okay for me, but I was never asked if that would be a problem. I have a few older relatives where that would not be good. It was awkward moving suitcases, etc. The front desk person was not friendly, which was a surprise. I've always had a good experiences before, and it's a hotel that many of my relatives patronize. Disappointing.

Our room was ready when we arrived despite the two, maybe three, page log of those folks that were also arriving early and a wedding party was trickling in. The room was well appointed and fresh. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was abundant and properly prepared or stored. The staff over seeing breakfast was kind. Check out was easy.

Bed was a bit lumpy. Next item is NOT a real complaint but it would be in the not like column - The room for the couple we came with wasn’t ready when we arrived. The front desk staff was professional about what could be done and when a room might be ready and moved the couple to a room that was ready when they could.

Loved the bathroom the shower was amazing! Checking in was easy, we were allowed to check in early. Staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. Had dinner at the restaurant we have 3 small children everyone was nice and accommodating. Happy hour menu was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was also great, the breakfast staff were some of the nicest people. Came over and checked on us multiple time and cleared dishes quickly.

Breakfast food selection was good and pleasantly displayed. Attendant was very good, cleaning tables, removing used dishes.

Not told at check in we had to request room cleanup. written on the paper we were handed with a list of TV stations. Not pleasant to return to unmade beds, full trash cans, dirty towels after a hot, busy day.

Very pleasant check in person, 10 pm Thurs Sept 23. And pleasant efficient breakfast staff on Fri Sept 23.

Odd "eggs". Certainly not fresh but not unexpected. But l,ve had more palatable instant eggs. Do a taste test and try ti find a better brand. Bed mattress needs replacing. We both slid toward the center. Room 318. Chadd's Ford PA. Bathroom door interferes with shower door. You can.t put bath mat in place or door crumbles it.

Location to Longwood Gardens. Good restaurant on site. Very nice breakfast area. Nice outdoor seating area and 2nd floor seating area.

Attention to requests from staff when booking were not followed through on. Requested that 86 yr old mother be placed next to us in her room - promised but not done. She also did not get AARP or AAA discounts on her room.
