The location was excellent for area art and history attractions we wanted to visit- Brandywine Art Museum and Battlefield, Longwood Gardens, Valley Forge. Good restaurants nearby. Room was spacious and clean.

It was difficult to locate staff to help with questions and needed items. There never seemed to be anyone in charge and it was hit or miss to get anyone’s attention. We never knew when someone would be at the front desk even though hours were posted for someone to be available. This was frustrating. Hotel located at a very busy intersection with lots of traffic. Not easy to find from the street and driveway can be easily missed.

LOVED that the hotel was pet-friendly. The reception are was warm and inviting, and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the coffee shop and bakery located right next door, and in general it was fantastic to be so close to so many area attractions--Longwood Gardens, Brandywine Battlefield, antique shops, Brandywine State Park, etc.

My only complaint is that there was no bottled water in the rooms, and the vending machine was broken. It would be nice to have at least 2 bottles of water for guests, given these circumstances.

This is a boutique hotel. It’s small and intimate. The management is applying for a liquor license to be able to provide alcohol and is doing a remodeling of the rooms and the kitchen. All that being said, the current hotel is very charming, the rooms are large and comfortable. The bed is soft and inviting, the linens clean and soft. A continental breakfast is included with the room and there was plenty to eat. The best part, though, is the staff. They are welcoming and professional and very pleasant to talk with. I can’t imagine this hotel will be better after all the work is finished but I can’t wait to find out.

Honestly, nothing. We have been there before and have had a consistently good experience

This is a lovely little gem of a hotel that meets the criteria for comfort, cleanliness, and affordability. Don't expect a super modern ($$$) facility, rather a comfortable facility with a lot of charm. The continental breakfast was good, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful (Truly superb restaurant just a short walk away - no sacrificing quality for convenience!) Easy check-in and express check-out as well! A real find!

Really can't think of anything - perhaps a bit more variety for the continental breakfast. But again, this is a very reasonably priced hotel, and what they provide at this price point is above average (i.e., Chobani yogurts! Bagels!)

I like the modest scale of this hotel. It was cozy with quaint touches like the brick façade and the fireplace in the lobby. The vibe was similar to Cape May or New England lodging. The room was ample, clean and well appointed. There were nice modern touches, like USB outlets for charging electronic devices and a desk with a built-in electrical receptacle. The bathroom was large, very clean and included a hair dryer. The HVAC unit was controlled by a wall thermostat and was quiet when running. A comfortable room temperature was easily maintained. The room had a good sized, newer, flat screen TV with plenty of channels and a clear picture, The refrigerator was nicely concealed in a bureau with lots of large drawers for clothing. Extra pillows were provided. The beds were firm and comfortable. The complementary breakfast was generous with a wide selection of hot an cold options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was close to both Longwood Gardens and Winterthur Museum and Gardens. We plan to return in the late fall.

We arrived after dark and it was difficult to find the entry. The hotel is up the hill and tucked behind retail shops that front the road. The roadside sign was not illuminated, although there are spotlights present. I observed this problem when we returned from the wedding venue late Friday night as well. Be aware that GPS may provide incorrect guidance regarding the location of the turn from the highway. I hope that management will address this issue, as there are very few places to make a U-turn, on this divided and busy road.

A very nice hotel. A nice option vs chain hotels. A extremely comfortable bed! We also had a jacuzzi and gas fireplace in the room. A 45 minute commute to Philadelphia attractions during non-rush hours. O So Sweet cafe in front of the hotel , a one minute walk out the door to reach it. We would stay here again for sure.

Waffle machine not functioning on the Tuesday and Wednesday we were there. Outside of that.... everything was great.

The area was very nice and close to our event. Parking was nice and check in was perfect. I was quiet place, cable was nice and everything in the room worked well.

I called the day before to make sure everything was set and the attendant was not very nice. We enjoyed the room but the bed was tilted so that our legs were higher than our heads. Much of the location was outdated and needs a renewal. Soda machine was broke but they sold me a coke for a dollar.

Historical, quaint atmosphere, very clean & quiet, and comfortable bed

Our room had 3 maintenance issues: The bottom 2 hinges on the nice wood cabinet that holds the refrigerator are broken and need re-attaching. The bathtub is scratched all around the drain, and just looks bad. Bit it still works. The hot water faucet is loose and wobbly. All of the above still worked, but they need fixing.

The property is very well located J area attractions and Longwood Gardens. While not a new property, It is very clean and comfortable and close to two outstanding restaurants within walking distance. It is not a five star property as far as update so don't expect that but do expected comfortable stay

Property ownership consider some small updates to the rooms

I picked this hotel for its location: near Longwood Gardens, within walking distance of the Brandywine River Art Museum and Brandywine River Conservancy, and near the Brandywine Battlefield. The hotel is in an older building, grouped with a restaurant, cafe, and other shops. My bed was very comfortable, and it was nice to have a refrigerator. Extensive channel selection on the TV.

Breakfast selections were limited and mostly sweeter things. There was no microwave in the room.
