The Inn at Montchanin Village & Spa

it was a conglomerate of cute, upscale cabins, which are situated like a tiny village. We also enjoyed the common area, where there were plenty of Hershey’s Kisses, beautiful furniture, and a gas fireplace.

Two things stuck out to me and my girlfriend. The shower did not drain properly. Thus, we were forced to stand in our own, gray water, while showering. The other issue was that the heater grates were dirty. One could see dust, dirt, and other debris in each grate.

Desk in room didn’t have a lamp… Dark in middle of room. No way to work at it or do make up there. simple lamp would fix this. Room in pink bldg. No breakfast yet… we are over the grab and go. Hotels where we live aren’t doing that anymore. Little stray cat family lives outside. I hope they are spayed and see vet. Afterall cats/animals are part of the hotel theme. Friendly cats…. warm homes wanted!

+ Quiet, comfortable room (The Carpenter). Large, but, not a suite. Good water pressure and clean tasting tap water. Ventilation was good with AC and ceiling fan available. In-room Keurig coffee machine, microwave, and mini fridge, included several bottles of water, coffee pods, tea, and soft drinks. Good wifi connection and speed. Included a light "breakfast to go" with small muffiin, yogurt, granola, and fruit cup. The small enclave of houses/rooms is in a rural area nestled among horse farms, golf courses, and local and state parks, but, convenient to suburban amenties and Wilmington city via car.

No significant negatives for us. Could use more and more convenient outlets for all the modern electronics we carried, but, the inn/hotel structures are from an older era.

We have been coming to the Montchanin Inn for years because of its bucolic setting, and its lovely rooms and suites that allow you to truly escape into elegant luxury. We love the onsite restaurant, and the wide range of wonderful attractions nearby including Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, the Delaware Art Museum, and the shops and restaurants of the Greenville and Centreville villages.

The bed in our room was a little firm for my taste. But the amenities are great, and the rooms are always spotless.

The room was very comfortable and very well furnished. It was nice to have coffee in the room with cold drinks in the refrigerator for our use. Beautiful grounds! Also nice to have a New York Times at our door in the morning.

Having to get our luggage to and from the parking lot which was a walk. Our room was on the third floor so lots of steps with no elevator. Ice maker in refrigerator not working and Ron was a little to dark…needed more lights.

Breakfast a bit skimpy but eating it in great hall with antiques was great

The property is lovely, and the historic buildings charming. Unfortunately, the first room we checked into smelled strongly of mold/mildew and we had to request to be moved. This request was met quickly and with good grace. The second room we were given (in a different building) was perfect. It was beautifully appointed, clean, and very comfortable.

The room appeared to be clean and recently renovated, and all the furnishings, window dressings, etc., appeared in good order. So, the source of the smell was a mystery. It was spring - a transitional weather season, so we wondered if maybe an HVAC filter needed changing, or??? In any case, our request to be moved to another room/building was met immediately and with good grace.

The room was lovely. We appreciated the artwork and antique furniture. The bathroom was clean and had everything we needed.

The hearing system was loud and the thermostat didn't work properly. The room was so hot that we had to open a window in the middle of the night. It wad very uncomfortable. We reported the problem the next morning and they were responsive but we had a bad night's sleep because of it. The breakfast was very disappointing. I was handed a small cold muffin and a very small bit of yogurt. (1/4 cup?) a tablespoon of granola and a tsblespoon of fruit in little plastic containers. We expected a grab and go breakfast but were not happy with this.

Loved the customer service. The staff is excellent with customer service. The location is beautiful and the views are stunning. Very close to anything you need

Well, our fire alarm went off at 3:00 am one night but the staff responded and treated us well. But no one likes to be awakened. Like I said they took care of our inconvience so we are happy.

Terrific historical buildings. Room was clean, comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. 14 minutes from Longwood Gardens. Took a trip to Westchester City which was exceptionally. Ate dinner at Antica Restaurant for our anniversary. Was awesome. Great location. The alley with lighting were very cool.

Breakfast was a grab and go. Very minimal.
